I Write, Therefore I Am
I am a writer. I don't know what else to do, to be. Yes, I am a wife. Yes, I am a mother. But I can tell you that before I dreamt of having children of my own, before I even contemplated the possibility of becoming someone's wife, I knew that I would be a writer. It's in my blood, in my breath, in my soul.

Haiku Monday
The writer will write
From her dreams she will create
Worlds so inviting
Each step into you
Takes me deeper and deeper
I fall in your heart
Dream a little dream
Mama Cass sang airily
And I will listen
The passionate heart
Willingly accepts the lie
The truth hurts too much

Writer Wednesday (#WW #writerwednesday)
Writer Wednesday (#writerwednesday #ww) is meant to bolster the writers out there in the twitterverse with links to other twitter profiles so that we in the #amwriting community won't ever feel that if we falter with our work, that we won't have someone there to help keep us from crashing.
Today's Writer Wednesday's tweeps comes after the jump!
A Rant
I had a heated conversation today with someone who believes that books marketed to teens should be wholesome, filled with nothing but good, biblical works that strive to push teens towards God and away from the "occult" and other sinful things. Of course, I had quite a few things to say about that, but the gist of the other person's argument was that they, as a Christian, was being oppressed in their faith and their parenting because their children have nothing to read that isn't sexual...

Food for Thought
When I was a teen, there were many things that I didn't talk about with my mom. Okay, I couldn't talk to my mom, period. We had the kind of relationship where she knew I existed, and I thanked her for not ending that existence whenever she felt the whim. So you can imagine that there were moments when I felt...lost about things. I had friends, but at fourteen, most of my friends were as clueless as I was about certain topics. Namely? Sex.
