Brenda Novak’s Online Auction for Diabetes Research
Hi all,
As I’ve done for the past couple of years, I will again be supporting Brenda Novak’s Online Auction for Diabetes Research. This is a cause dear to my heart because my best friend’s daughter (who is the same age as my daughter) lives with diabetes.
This year, I’ve donated a Kindle Wi-Fi 6” display with power adapter ; this Kindle also comes pre-loaded with ten eBooks.
My auction listing is #3383043 — I hope you’ll check it out!
Please spread the word about Brenda’s auction, and help us rais...

Of Sagas and the Coldest Vamps Ever
The last day of April already??? Only half a week of school holidays to go before I get the house to myself again??? Ooops. Didn’t mean for that last thought to make it on to the web-page. Hey, my kids probably don’t read my blog so I should be safe.
Anyhow, wi
th May looming, it’s time to talk April’s reading list.
Me — and my whole family — were thrilled to bits when the third volume of Saga (that I’d pre-ordered) arrived in the letterbox. About the only issue I had was wishing I’d ordered fou...

Win a print ARC of The Crystal Warrior
I haz exciting news!
I’m THIS close *pinches thumb and forefinger together* to releasing my first ever indie print book; The Crystal Warrior :)
The release was slightly delayed because after receiving the 6×9″ proof, we decided to 1) change the book’s print size to 5×8″, and 2) change the interior font… which led to CAE having to design another cover, plus a whole heap of mucking about with formatting and PDF creation that I won’t go into because it was uber-frustrating to say the least.
But we...
Happy Easter!
Hi y’all,
HAPPY EASTER FROM NEW ZEALAND!
It’s Good Friday, here. And, joy of joys, the weather yesterday was so wet and stormy and utterly vile, that DD’s early morning (6.45 am for Pete’s sake!!!) hockey training was cancelled. Yes, Maree, apparently there is a god who looks out for moms of teens and occasionally wangles them an unexpected sleep-in on public holidays. Yay.
Even better, it’s beautifully sunny right now (though we’re told it won’t last), and as I type this post, the hot cross bun...

An irresistibly sweet deal!
Hi all,
I don’t usually promote/discuss books I haven’t already read and enjoyed a whole heap, but I hope you’ll forgive me for this one.
What’s so great about this particular book, I hear you ask?
How about because it’s more than a book: “A Sweet Life Boxed Set (Fourteen Contemporary Romances By Bestselling Authors To Benefit Diabetes Research)”
And it gets better: A Sweet Life Boxed Set is now available on Amazon for pre-order for only US$2.99!
(I believe it’s also available on Kobo, B&N and All...

Have Mercy… and Rachel… and Sherlock!
I’m a bit late with my reading list for March, but better late than never, right? And it’s never too late to talk books — especially books that are continuations of much-beloved series belonging to my (many!) keeper shelves.
Case in point: The Undead Pool (The Hollows #12) by Kim Harrison. More Rachel!!! More Trent!!! ZOMG, Rachel AND Trent!!! (And BTW, if you haven’t read The Undead Pool yet, the hyperlink will take you to not only the book’s page on Ms Harrison’s website, but an excer...

Important message for subscribers
Hi everyone,
This is an important message for current newsletter subscribers, so please check it out and TYIA!
We’re changing the way newsletters are delivered.
At the moment, a “newsletter” is generated every time I publish a new post, and subscribers have opted to receive these “newsletters”daily (i.e. every time I post) or weekly (i.e. a weekly summary of posts) via the newsletter sign-up section on the sidebar, which looks like this:
But I feel these notifications aren’t really newsletters; t...
Smitten by our kitten
Hi all,
If you’ve been following my blog posts for a while you might remember that a little over a year ago, we lost our beloved ocicat, Minna, to pancreatic cancer. And although the vet tried to convince me to take on another cat, DH and I just didn’t have the heart. So for the first time in decades we decided to be a pet-free household… which meant that during the day, because I worked from home I was truly alone. Those of you with pets probably understand what I’m getting at: when you’re on...
