Of rock stars, sagas and beasts

Can’t believe it’s February already… and that my holidays are over. Yep, I’m starting a newfull-time job tomorrow and it’ll be a while until I accumulate any annual leave, so any time spent reading books in the future will most definitely be a luxury. Sigh….

Speaking of books:

Rock-Redemption-186x300If you haven’t already checked out Nalini Singh’s Rock Kiss series, then I would encourage you to do so ASAP. I got a handy dandy gift card for Christmas, and caught up on the series over the holidays. And I can assure...

Resolutions and a new release

I don’t think I’m alone in saying I’m glad 2015 is done and dusted… and here’s hoping 2016 is a vast improvement!

As for New Year’s resolutions: I haven’t made a single one. Frankly, I don’t need theangstthat follows all mybest intentions re self-improvement going terribly awry when life throws me curveball. But if I were into goal-setting, then my goal for 2016 mightbe summed up in oneword: “balance”.

For starters, I’m gonna do my level best to findsome.

You know the kind of thing I’m talkin...

Christmas Wishes

MerryChristmasKiwi

It’s Christmas Eve here in New Zealand. And by the time I finish posting this it’ll be around 15 minutes shy of midnight. So I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas — hope you get lots of hugs from the special people in your life!

To my readers: a special thanks for all your support of me and my books over this past year. It’s been a tough one on the personal front, but a new story will be coming soon, I promise.

And may 2016 bring you all much happiness, loads of great reading,...

Agent of Change

For me,November’s standout read was Agent of Change by Sharon Lee & Steve Miller. This was the first book set in the Liaden Universe, but according to Ms Lee’s website, chronologically, it’s around book 9. If that sounds a little confusing, then check out this explanation on Sharon Lee’s websiteabout the correct reading order.

In short, the Liaden books are more of a “universe” than a series — love that explanation!

Now if you’ve learned anything about me as a reader while reading these posts...

Booktrack’s got a special offer on Freaks!

Hi all,

You might recall me mentioning that last Christmas holidays I decided to experiment with Booktrack, a company that gives you access toall sorts of cool sound-effects, music, ambiance effects etc., that let’s novices like meeasily add a soundtrack/special effects to ourbooks. October was all about finding a balance

Warning: this October Reads post doesn’t focus solely on my favourite reads for the month of October. Soif you’re cravinga quick recommendation or three and want to move on:

1. For the futuristically/paranormallyinclined do try Silver Master by Jayne Castlebecause, among other awesomeness (such as a romantic suspense-filled plot) there are futuristicDUST BUNNIES!

2. For the historical romance fans check out When a Scott Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare because Madeline! And Logan! ZOMG, they are j...
