Enchanted Inkpot Interview
Hey guys! Just a short post to let you know of a fun interview with me on Cindy Pon's blog Enchanted Inkpot. Cindy wrote Silver Phoenix and Fury of the Phoenix--I just finished Silver Phoenix last week. I really loved her use of asian mythology, food, and the lovely world she built. So you should read it, preferably with snacks at the ready. Anyway, along with the interview, Cindy is running a give away, and really, who doesn't like free things? Take a minute and check it out.

Holy Spam Bots, Batman!
I'm new to this whole website thing. I love the interwebs, but like most folk I take them for granted. And I haven't the foggiest clue as to how they function. In fact, as far as I'm concerned tiny demons live in my computer and use their magic to make youtube videos and LOL cats happen. For these things alone, I love those wee demons and their magic.

Haiku Contest Results
So, I got some pretty fancy pants books from Penguin Australia the other day and I felt like they had to be shared. Giving them away randomly seemed bo-ring, so I held a HMCN Haiku contest on ye olde facebook page. Here are the entries for your enjoyment:

Death & Waffles
So, I've had a few frustrated folks trying to find this story, and even though I feel like I keep posting links to it, people are having a hard time locating it. So, here's the places you can find it:

In Which I Answer Questions
There are many great things about the wonderful interwebs. You can look up recipes, buy comic books, and watch all sorts of videos and see all kinds of pictures of things no one should ever see. Ever. One of those new (at least to me) and shiny things is the ability to actually talk to you guys. That's right--you. Online communication is great because it means I can still chat with people while at the same time trying to achieve my goal of going full hermit.

Why I Want to Hug ALL THE LIBRARIANS!*
Recently, I got to spend a day in San Diego in the company of more librarians that I've ever seen together in one place. It would appear that, twice a year (as far as I know) the ALA (American Library Association) gathers to discuss things**. To be honest, I had no idea what these things were when I went down there, but I quickly found out that these meetings are where the magic happens, and by magic, I mean they decide/announce who gets great honors like the Newberry, the Caldecott, and too many other great honors to count.

Perhaps a Bit of Explanation is in Order
I get a lot of comments on the title of Hold Me Closer, Necromancer. Mostly, people just say they like it, which is nice to hear. A few laugh or grimace and tell me that it gets the song Tiny Dancer stuck in their head and I've learned that said laugh or grimace is in accordance with how much that particular person likes Elton John. For those that love him and enjoy the song forever banging away in their craniums, you're welcome. For those who could do without it, my apologies.

One of These Things is Not Like The Other...
I'm still not used to this whole bloggy blog business. In my head, it goes kind of like this:
Me: I should post something. I haven't posted anything in a while, and the whole point of a blarg is to post things.
Voice of Reason: Probably.
