Have you visited THE DOWNSIDE lately?

Every week, on my Patreon, among other things, I put up two strips from a comic I call Downside. These comics are later posted to https://www.downsidecomic.com/, with new strips every Tuesday and Thursday.

#0289 just posted yesterday, and I wanted to share it with you...

There's plenty more -- 298 and counting -- over at the linked blog above! Go! Check 'em out! Share with your friends! Join the Patreon if you want to see them first!
And thanks, folks!

C2E2! Saturday, April 1! See you there?

Remember folks, I will be at C2E2 on April 1 and April 1 only, hanging out at Dave Wheeler's table! I'll be sketching, signing, and I'll have some books on me. Stop by!

(And don't let me not being there the rest of the weekend stop you from visiting Dave--one of the nicest guys in comics--and checking out his all-ages superhero wares!)

New Series: TMNT Saturday Morning Adventures... CONTINUES!

Hey, folks!

Well, I know there hasn't been a big fancy press release, but it's been in the Previews catalog for a few weeks now, so I think it's safe to say TMNT Saturday Morning Adventures is returning for an ongoing series!

The first two issues feature the Turtles against the Rat King, who has developed the ability to control reptiles...

The first issue drops in MAY, and if you haven't already, run down to your local comic shop and ask that they hold you a copy!
Here's the order code:

MAR231660

I can't thank you all enough for this -- it's because of your embracing of the miniseries that we're coming back for more!

It may be a cliche, but this calls for a cowabunga.

Godzilla: Rise Up shortlisted for an Excelsior Award!

Godzilla Monsters & Protectors: Rise Up by me, Dan Schoening, and Luis Antonio Delgado, the middle-grade Godzilla series from IDW Publishing, was shortlisted for an Excelsior Award recently -- a neat award where the winner in our category is ultimately decided by school-aged readers!

I'm always happy to contribute in any small way towards kids reading more, and I'm very proud (and humbled, I've seen the other nominees).

For more on the Excelsior Awards, check out:

Happy New Year!

It was a wild 2022 for me, and it ended in an unexpected way; Godzilla Monsters & Protectors: Rise Up was shortlisted for an Excelsior Award, and TMNT Saturday Morning Adventures came in at #67 on CBR's Top 100 comics of the year (first time, I think, that anything I've worked on has made a best of year list... and we beat Amazing Spider-Man to boot!)

I had a year of travel and friends and interesting projects... and I hope for more of the same in 2023--hopefully this year is a happy one for you all as well!

And now, as per tradition, here's my list of movies watched over the year... it's shorter than 2020 and 2021; but I had some good ones in there. They're after the jump!

And now, back to work projects -- no rest for the wicked!

O Social Media O Social Media... Why Do You Get So Wacky

 Hey everybody!

Given the chaos undertaking Twitter at the moment (will the content of folks who don't pay for a subscription even be seen? Will it irreparably break from engineer exodus? Other??) I realized that it miiiiiight have been a mistake to put so many eggs into one social media basket.

After all, I want to be able to continue to connect, and to share news of cool projects as they happen!

So, let's get this right onto the front of things: where else can we hang out on the internet? Most of the answers are in the links menu over on the left, but I want to expand on a few things after the break!

So one good spot to find me is my newsletter. I don't inundate folks -- you'll catch content once a month or less unless something CRAZY pops up.

Additionally, from now until December 01, 2022 I'm running a drawing. If you sign up for my newsletter, you're in it to win a copy of TMNT Saturday Morning Adventures #2 -- the RI variant cover as drawn by Joe Quinones.

If this goes over well, future drawings may happen!

Erik's newsletter: BURNHAM NOTICE

I recently set up a Discord! I had a live chat on November 9th to shake it down and learn it some--dang if it didn't feel like the days of ICQ.

I'll schedule regular chats for fun things (liveblogging movies, perhaps?) but otherwise come hang out whenever!

The BURNHAMANIA DISCORD

Turns out I've had a Mastodon account since 2017; if you want to join me at another microblogger? Please come find me there, too.

E @ Mastodon

Final one I want to spotlight? A BRAND NEW one -- I got a TikTok. I waited a little too long to grab a handle so my usual was taken... but you can still find me. That's where I've been posting timelapses of some of the cartoons I've drawn.

I'd love to find some other way to connect with it. I'm still learning!

E @ TikTok

Okay! That's all I have to talk about.

Godspeed!

The Official Ghostbusters Cookbook -- OUT NOW!

This collection of recipes by the prolific Jenn Fujikawa -- with in-world Ghostbusters content written by me -- is full of fun. And will probably also be responsible for me putting on another 30 lbs. (Seriously, that mac n cheese recipe...)

It's available anywhere you get your books, but here's a handy link to Amazon!

New Project: POTIONS, INC

The comic I wrote for Mad Cave Studios is finally available for pre-order, with the first issue scheduled to hit on June 08, 2022!

I worked with Stelladia (on linework and color), Micah Myers (on letters), Natasha Alterici (cover art) and Erica Schultz (editing!)

Between us, I think we put together a pretty fun little fantasy book about a trio of siblings that leave Primaterra for the strange and fantastic world of... Seattle.

Check out the first cover below--and give the phone number a call!

New Project: the Official Ghostbusters Cookbook!

Coming this September, from Insight Editions, the Official Ghostbusters Cookbook features recipes by Jenn Fujikawa (there's some tasty stuff in there) while I handle the in-universe text, which is... well, you'll have to wait and see how we weave characters from the Ghostbusters franchise into this book.

All current details--including ways to pre-order--can be found at this link!

I look forward to sharing more as soon as I can!
