June 27, 2023: Behind the scenes on Window of Opportunity – Daniel Jackson edition!
So I’ve been going through dailies from my old Stargate days, specifically, recently, footage from production on two episodes: Wormhole X-Treme and Window of Opportunity. I’ve been pulling various clips and posting them for fans to enjoy but, as I said yesterday, for more meaningful, dedicated clips, I’ve decided to send them to individual cast members so that they can have the exclusive. Well, yesterday, I sent Michael Shanks three Daniel-centric clips and he quickly posted them over on his twitter account (over at https://twitter.com/MichaelShanks – As if you didn’t already know) so I repost them here for your viewing pleasure…

June 26, 2023: Project updates! More Stargate BTS videos!
Got the budget for the horror shoot. Need to have some further discussions with my line producer and director prior to hopping on the phone with Team Bulgaria, but it’s looking good. Now the big challenge will be getting those tax credit numbers, completing that comprehensive business plan, having it vetted, and then wowing the investors. If it all clicks, we’ll be (hopefully) shooting in Sofia this fall.
About to option my cozy mystery pilot to a producer who absolutely loved the script (which is always nice). He’s set up a number of similar productions, so this is looking very good. Again, thanks for the notes, Rebecca!
I’ve finally gone through the dailies for both Wormhole X-Treme and Window of Opportunity. Sadly, for some reason, the golfing-through-the-gate footage wasn’t included, I suspect because that (O’Neil doing pottery and riding his bike through the SGC) were late additions to the montage and may have been shot later, during the following episode. There are plenty of fun alt takes and angles, but I ended up pulling out the funnier outtakes. What I think I’ll do is, for the bigger sequences, I’ll send them to the cast members and give them the option of posting as their own exclusive – then follow up by reposting their original post (if they choose to make it public).
In the meantime, here are three more terrific outtakes from two of the franchise’s funniest episodes…

I’ve also discovered dailies from The Warrior, It’s Good to be King, Small Victories, and Revisions. Hope to get those digitized and screens in the coming weeks.

June 24, 2023: News of Note!
Well, that was fast. I went to bed last night considering the prospect of a coup that would topple Putin in Russia. 15 hours later, the conspirators decided to call it, packed up, and went back home. Somewhat…anti-climatic. But as events were still evolving, I was reminded of someone of someone I worked for back in the day. Simply put, an asshole. And dealing with him was exhausting. I expressed my hope that he would be fired one day and replaced to which one of my co-workers offered: “Better the devil you know”. My response was: “Better? Really?” In the end, he DID end up getting fired and his replacement turned out to be terrific – collaborative, supportive, and approachable. And I was thinking of the “Better the Devil you know” argument as events were unfolding in Russia because, in this particular case, I believe the mantra was sound. Prigozhin’s words and actions strike me as decidedly unstable – not the type of individual you want controlling roughly 6000 nuclear weapons. In any case, it’s all over. Presumably. For now. But honestly have to wonder how long Prigozhin sticks around.

Looking for mystery/suspense/thriller recommendations. Story must involve sleuthing, either by a professional or amateur investigator. No genre (sci-fi, fantasy, horror). Give me your best!

With all this news about studios hiring the services of A.I.’s to help them green light movies via complicated algorithms, you’d think the computers would do a better job…
Came across an article the other day about what death row convicts had for their last meals and it got me thinking…what would I have? After considerable thought, I came up with the following…
Smash cheeseburger, fried chicken, Sweet Hornet pizza, wagyu A5 steak, schnitzel, sissig, uni, ikura, caviar, spaghetti a l’assassina, crispy bonjiri, crispy chicken skin on rice, Mom’s pistachio cake, Akemi’s chocolate truffles, Haagen-Dazs vanilla, and 3 shots Yamazaki 18.

June 22, 2023: Stargate SG-1 outtakes!
Finally going through the digitized versions of some of those old dailies I recovered from my storage unit. Went through the Wormhole X-Treme footage and now starting on Window of Opportunity. Came across some really clips – five of which I’ve uploaded here.
Also came across some hilarious clips of Chris Judge laughing uproariously for 2:20 in a briefing room scene from Wormhole X-Treme, about five minutes of Rick and the late Willie Garson yukking it up, and some great alt takes of the infamous dip-n-kiss from Window of Opportunity.
Enjoy!

June 20, 2023: Oh, look. Another comic book movie!
Honestly, guys. The spurious use of “highly anticipated” and “leaks” has rendered these two terms devoid of any true meaning.
Kraven the Hunter's trailer leaks online just as the highly-anticipated villain origin story from Sony drops its first poster. https://t.co/eWvYSx14iX pic.twitter.com/Oj8KFhK5b6

If this Kraven the Hunter movie proves successful, next up I'd like to see a buddy movie where a young Red Skull and Bullseye travel the world, helping kids and teaching them the dangers of recreational drug use.
