Success

The people who ultimately succeed are those who are undaunted by disadvantageous circumstances, who waste no time in lamenting over them and who give their attention instead to overcoming whatever difficulties they are faced with.

Putting up with thorns

If there is to be harmony within a community, the bad sides of its members must be tolerated, while their good sides are appreciated. If we want to pluck “flowers,” we have also to bear the “thorns” that come with them. There is no way that one who cannot put up with thorns will be able to possess the flowers of this life.

Humility

Awareness of one’s own shortcomings makes for a spirit of humility in individuals and unity in society. If one sees only the faults of others, on the other hand, one will become arrogant, and perennially be at odds with one’s fellows.

No Shortcuts

There is no doubting the fact that failure in life usually results from the quest for immediate success. The word “short-cut” may be applicable to the world of roads and footpaths, but there are no short-cuts in the struggles of life.

On facing problems

Complaint about or protest against problems is of no value. Problems are no created by some person: they are part of nature. No one has the power to change the course of nature. We have no option but to accept this natural course. So when you face a problem, don’t be negative. Be normal. Don’t be disturbed. Don’t allow to tension to develop.

Ignore the problems

The quantum of opportunities will be more that the quantum of problems. This being so, the best course to adopt is to ignore the problems and divert one’s energy to availing of the opportunities.

Conciliation

The conciliatory approach always minimises the problem, while the confrontational approach aggravates matters, while leaving the initial problem unsolved.

Watch your words

The tongue is like a double-edged sword. Its right use can create the spirit of love, while its wrong use will create hatred and intolerance in society.
