Country of Frozen Time 1 & 2

I have uploaded two translated works of Dmitrii Suslin's fairytale/fantasy series Country of Frozen Time . A new version of the first book Knight Caterino with illustrations is now available here. News on the Translation Front

Jane informed me that she has finished translating one of my favorite works: Дракончик Пыхалка , tentatively titled Flamy the Dragonet . The editor is doing his magic now.

Very Sad News

Playwright and academic Natalya Churlyaeva, whose plays I translate, has passed away on August 24. In honor of her memory, I will continue translating plays she has left behind.

No News on the Translation Front

I have been neglecting this blog for a long time for the simple reason that there has been no news on the translation front. Jane has been intently tied up with other projects. Sad News

Playwright and academic Natalya Churlyaeva, whose plays I translate, has developed very fast a very aggressive form of breast cancer. Prognosis is not good. Some of her plays include: The Last Will of Shiromordov on corruption; Can One Live This Way? , an answer to Govorukhin's 1990 much-publicised documentary We Can't Live Like This ; or The Mysterious Suitcase , recently performed in The Big Apple at the Short Play Lab to great success.

Father - A Short Story

Father describes exactly the feelings I went through around the arrival of our first-born even though the circumstances were different. This is fiction but the underlying emotions were the same. Enjoy, and feel free to comment.
