Cemetery Dance Talks With IDW’s Jeff Conner about Stephen King, Clive Barker, and the future of horror Limited Editions

For the past three years Jeff Conner has been the editor and lead designer for IDW Publishing’s “alt-lit” prose program. Prior to a stint working in the entertainment industry—setting up Top Dollar Comics and editing a series of original Crow novels for producer Edward R. Pressman, performing similar activities for Conan Properties—Mr. Conner ran Scream/Press, a micro-publisher specializing in short story collections and novel reprints.

He won a World Fantasy Award for his efforts there, but h...

The USPS Did Something Very Bad to A Customer’s Book (With Photo!)

The Beautiful Stephen King Artwork of Erin S. Wells

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Erin S. Wells on several projects now, including It: The 25th Anniversary Special Limited Editionby Stephen King and myDueling Mindsanthology among others. Several collectors hired her to remarque their copies of It and she was kind enough to let me share a few samples here on the blog. (A remarque is an original drawing created by an artist directly in the book.)

The answer to our Barnes & Noble Nook eBook Sales Mystery!

As I mentioned in my last post, there was a very nice surge in sales forThe Painted DarknessatBarnes & Noblethis summer and I couldn’t figure out why.

Several readers reminded me about the “Customers Who Bought This Also Bought” feature on Barnes & Noble’s website, which I hadn’t thought of for some reason. I’ve seen how well that feature on Amazon’s website can boost sales for a book, but I overlooked it last week when thinking about these B&N sales!

A Barnes & Noble Nook eBook Sales Mystery!

For those of you who are interested in the world of eBooks and self-publishing, I have a bit of a Barnes & Noble eBook sales mystery that I’m trying to unravel.

Some background: like many authors these days, Amazon.com has always sold the most copies of my eBooks.

If Amazon sells 100 copies of The Painted Darkness in a month, Barnes and Noble will sell 50, Apple will sell 15, andSony will sell 8.

That trend has been pretty steady. For the sake of discussion, let’s say Barnes and Noble might have...
