The USPS Did Something Very Bad to A Customer’s Book (With Photo!)

This is far from the first time I’ve seen a book damaged by the USPS or UPS or Fed-Ex, but this one seemed particular stabby, so I asked the customer if I could share the photo she sent us:

Yeah, it's probably unlikely you'll ever find an eBook with this sort of issue. :)

David Merrill This is nothing. I ordered a book on ebay. I think it was one of the library of America Noir novels volumes. I waited for it for a few weeks and contacted the seller, who reimbursed me. It had been maybe $10 + shipping, so he didn't have a problem with it. About a week later I got the extremely rumpled, crushed and ripped mailing label cut from the crumpled mailing envelope in a plastic bag with an apology from the Post Office in the mail. No book. It had been rerouted to Atlanta and finally got to me about 5 weeks after it was mailed. Then, close to a month later, the book arrived extremely bumped bruised and bent. The seller had actually printed out the transaction and put it inside the front cover. It had my address on it. God knows how it managed to stay in the book after the mailing envelope disintegrated.

I guess everything goes through Atlanta these days. ;)

We've had years where we've shipped 60,000 packages and I would say 59,800 of them got where they were going just fine... but the other 200 were an adventure!
