Breaking Dawn: Final Verdict and Other Random Bits

I finally did the inevitable, broke down, and rented Breaking Dawn. And I have to say so far it was my favorite of all of the movies. Yes, I have seen them all. So it was nice to see the actor's progress and it really didn't feel like there was a whole lot of whining or horrible, awful cheesy lines.Except for the wedding speeches, of course. All and all, I would have watched it again. Which is more than a little weird, but I'll go with it. I think they handled everything about this movie well, though Taylor Lautner still can't act worth a damn and seeing him shirtless doesn't do a damn thing for me. I still have a lot of new releases to catch up with which makes me a little antsy, I like to be on top of my movies. But that also means I've been getting more work done with writing. Good news for everyone!

On the writing front, I've got three projects to a stage of secondary editing. A novel and two novellas. Hopefully, you'll be seeing those soon from Ellora's Cave. Two of them are of the BDSM variety and the other one is lesbian with a bit of kink. I'm really hard a work getting as much out into the world as I can in the next couple of months so bare with me if the blog slows down a bit. It's only because I'm making words on a lot of other projects.

In other news, I've joined the craze and enrolled myself in Pinterest. So if you want, come find me and take a look at my inspirations, covers, and various other doo-dad's that pop into my brain.

The Ultimate Eyecandy With Whedon

Can't even tell you how excited I am to see The Avengers. Not only is it directed by my all time most favoritest guy in the whole wide world, Joss Whedon, but any excuse to cuddle up with Tony Stark for another couple hours? Oh, I'm so there! Combine that with an all access pass for watching Scarlett Johanson in black leather? Yeah, do we see any issues with this movie? Didn't think so.

Finger Paintings Releases Today!

My erotic lesbian menage novella from Excessica, Finger Paintings, releases today at only .99 cents! This book was a challenge, mainly because I've never written a F/F/F scene, and every second was a fun, winding labyrinth of pronouns. But I loved every minute of it. Even when I was gnashing my teeth while banging my head against my desk. This was a true work of love from start to finish. Hope you enjoy! Below are the blurb and excerpt:

Blurb:
When Calliope finds out about her surprise Valentine's Daygift—a painting session with a bunch of third graders—thrilled isn't exactlythe operative word. Shot to hell are her dreams of sexually reuniting with heroverworked, overstressed longtime girlfriend, Michelle, who hasn't had time foranything other than a quickie in months.
With one foot in the classroom, Calliope's floored by thenaive, chipper school teacher, Miss Havard. Even better when she gets afirsthand look at the flirtatious way Michelle fawns over the new woman. Yet,Calliope soon finds out that there's more to her girlfriend's seeminglyinnocent V-day surprise. A salacious fantasy unfolds putting theircommunication—and their bodies—to the test.
Fingers can do much more than paint and sometimes teachersteach much better outside of the classroom.
Warning: This work contains mild D/s play, an f/f/f scene, and explores voyeurism in an elementary school hallway and the backroom of aclassroom while kids are at recess.
Excerpt:
Calliope took a quick step forwarddigging her fingers into the soft flesh of Michelle's shoulders pressing her girlfriendtighter to the wall. A quiet "squeak" from her girlfriend's mouth raised thesmall hairs along Calliope's arms. With little grace, Calliope forced her upperthigh between Michelle's legs. So fast Michelle didn't have much time to reactbefore she was pinned to the wall.Calliope relished the heatedpressure of her girlfriend's pussy through her panties. A not so subtle teaseagainst Calliope's jean-clad inner thigh as she tried to keep her head in thegame. No matter what happened, Michelle wanted her—that was self-evident.Calliope grinned with slow burning anticipation. She removed her fingers fromher girlfriend's shoulders and slammed both of her palms against the concreteblock wall on either side of Michelle's head. "What are you going to do now?"Calliope taunted.Michelle barely flinched. Itdidn't take a genius to notice the undisguised lust widening her alert greengaze. True, they hadn't played Michelle's favorite dominate and submissivesexual game in a while—but that's only because after the brutal rebuffsCalliope grew sick of doing all the work only when and where Michelle wantedit. Now Calliope didn't give a damn, she'd do anything to get them going in theright direction. When Michelle trembled Calliopesensed every movement against her upper body and savored her girlfriend'sinstant submission like a fine wine. She leaned in—close enough to taste theperfume on Michelle's skin— roses and a hint of coconut sun tan lotion.Michelle's hands clamped onto Calliope's waist against her tank top, her littlefists twisting into the fabric. One slow, seductive trail of her tongue frombelow her girlfriend's jaw, down her neck, and across her skipping, frenziedpulse point left Calliope more than eager for a second, longer taste. Michelle shuddered tight againstCalliope's leg with a sigh that tickled tiny wisps of hair sticking out alongthe crown of Calliope's black ponytail.

Well, Doesn't This Make My Whole Day?

Today I got an awesome review for my Ellora's Cave novel, Not So Pure, from HCHarju at Night Owl Reviews. They gave my naughty modern fairytale 4.25/5! Here's a little snippet of the review:

"There is never a dull moment in the book and I found myself flipping through the pages to see what the next titillating scene would offer."

That's not only my favorite part of the review, but a HUGE compliment especially considering this is my first ever published novel. I'd written many full books, but never endeavored to get them published before because I liked to call them practice novels. This book was my little baby that could--a work of two years--and I'm so happy it's getting received well all over the place! If you'd like to read more of the review for my book go HERE.

Who Did It?

I couldn't bring myself to title this post "Who Dun it?" though for some reason that felt most appropriate for me. Anywho, it doesn't mater whose fault "it" was because I'm not going to find out until the end--because I've become a cozy mystery junkie. I don't know what it is, but it's like someone took my favorite chick lit heroine, threw in some suspense, a hot guy, and some gut-busting humor and I am SO there.

I've been having a great time introducing myself to them and a majority of the ones I picked up have huge backlists. Good for my mind, bad for my wallet. My poor little Nook Color doesn't know what to do with itself right now. Probably wants to kill me because I made it gain ten lbs and it didn't even get to savor the old, less weighty version of itself.

And, yeah, I know, I'm erotic romance/erotica writer, what the hell am I doing devouring cozy mysteries?

Variety, my friend, is the spice of life. Sometimes, just sometimes, I want a book with a good fade to black sex scene and for me, these little babies are my everything right now.

Here are some of the one's I've either read or picked up to read soon:
Introducing a delightful new series featuring Carolyn Cosi, manager of the historic Village Blend coffeehouse...

Carolyn arrives at work to discover the assistant manager dead in the back of the store, coffee grounds strewn everywhere. Two detectives investigate. But when they find no sign of forced entry or foul play, they deem it an accident. Still, Carolyn is not convinced. And after the police leave, Carolyn can't help wondering...If this was an act of murder, is she in danger?
The streets of San Francisco would be lined with hardcovers if rare book expert Brooklyn Wainwright had her way. And her mentor wouldn't be lying in a pool of his own blood on the eve of a celebration for his latest book restoration. With his final breath he leaves Brooklyn a cryptic message, and gives her a priceless—and supposedly cursed—copy of Goethe's Faust for safekeeping.Brooklyn suddenly finds herself accused of murder and theft, thanks to the humorless—but attractive—British security officer who finds her kneeling over the body. Now she has to read the clues left behind by her mentor if she is going to restore justice…
When she moved to Stoneham, city slicker Tricia Miles met nothing but friendly faces. And when she opened her mystery bookstore, she met friendly competition. But when she finds Doris Gleason dead in her own cookbook store, killed by a carving knife, the atmosphere seems more cutthroat than cordial. Someone wanted to get their hands on the rare cookbook that Doris had recently purchased-and the locals think that someone is Tricia. To clear her name, Tricia will have to take a page out of one of her own mysteries-and hunt down someone who isn't killing by the book.
Antiques-shop clerk Maggie O'Neill was a little weirded out when she discovered her new boss Felicity was a witch. But when Felicity becomes the suspect in a local murder, Maggie must enlist Felicity's wiccan friends for help--and discover her own spellbinding talent.

Craziness and Bubble Gum

What have I been up to lately you ask? Been gearing up for my epic release schedule come February where I'll have a new release with Excessica every month until Oct 2012. And yes, I have considered that I'm absolutely insane. Hasn't been far from the back of my mind. In between those releases I'm also preparing a lot for Ellora's Cave including my paranormal mythical series, a Rennisance Faire bondage short story, and a couple other projects I've literally started writing this week.

I seem to be in a weird mode where I start projects and can't quite go back to them. Probably because my head is so focused on my editing right now. But whereas it seems like I'm not working very hard from my lack of releases, I promise you, lovely readers, I'm kicking ass and taking my names over here trying to push this giant pile of submissions off my desk. You'll see a lot of me in 2012--even if you don't want to.

On another note I can't even tell you how much I covet J. Scott Campbell's work right now. I want to hang a lot of his stuff all over my house. And I covet his fairytale calender like I'd sleep with it at night if I could. But, alas, can't spend the money right now. But, oh god, some of this gorgeousness will be mine! *shakes fist in the air ala Scarlett O'Hara*

Some of my favorites include:
