THE VESSEL INSPIRED ARTWORK BY DEVIN FORST
'Mother, Creator, Destroyer' inspired by The Vessel. An illustration by Devin Forst, an artist from Pennsylvania with an interesting and often eerie style.I think the illustration's great and it makes me think of an old book for children that should exist but doesn't.I've ordered a print for my office wall.

WINNER OF THE HAPPY GOAT HORROR AWARD 2022!
I was very chuffed to be the recipient of the Happy Goat Horror award for 2022! An unusual and imaginative award, for two of my books, that will sit on the shelves above my desk and gaze down at me (until my Nipper attempts a relocation to the Beanie Boos - though the goat may come back to me once a coven has formed amongst the unicorns).
Happy Goat Horror are a relatively new reviewing website but have already produced a significant number of reviews, supporting new horror releases, and appraising classics in the field, and all since last August. And long may they caper.Thank you Goat Team!Their main review site.

DREAMS AND SHADOWS - AN EXPLORATION OF THE NOVELS OF ADAM NEVILL
Well, the critical footprint that my horrors have impressed upon the sand has been faint, if not skeletal (though critical studies are not things that I've expected or courted and they also give me the fear). My books, however, have been mentioned in a couple of non-fiction books about modern horror, there is an essay by S.T. Joshi on a few of the novels, and they've even been written about in a couple of PhD thesis'. But never have they been the subject of an exclusive critical appraisal, until now.
Reviewer and writer, Anthony Watson, has written an exploration of my horror novels and an appreciation of them, for which I am most grateful and also flattered.'Dreams and Shadows' is now available in four formats - hardback, paperback and eBook.
And I offer a two horn salute to all who support the book.

CHRISTOPHER FOWLER REMEMBERED
Saddened to hear of Christopher Fowler's passing. I hadn't seen Chris for a few years and mainly knew him from the period when I lived in London, attended Fantasycon every year and rarely missed a BFS Open Night in Holborn or London Bridge. Chris often invited me to his book launches too, with drinks afterwards at the Phoenix on the Charing Cross Road and we once did an event together in Foyles. My fondest memory was a lock-in with him, in a pub, after an Open Night. I was a relatively new writer with one book to my name and I'd been reading Chris for years - his books were stalwarts in the horror section of Waterstones in the 90s when I lived in Brum - and I looked up to him as an established author and couldn't quite believe that I was chatting horror with him after hours in a pub. When Apartment 16 was published, and that was a big deal for me, Chris had read the book and came and shared some of the kindest words a veteran writer has ever said to me. It was a real moment of confirmation that I treasure. The last book of his I read was 'Nyctophobia', his highly atmospheric and sensory ghost story set in Spain. One of the best I read that year and I'm surprised it's not more well known.I was always impressed with how much he wrote, the quality of his work, as well as his leading an interesting life at the same time. He was an example of how writing hard but also living a full life is not only possible but essential.Fondly remembered and a real loss to British fantasy.Chris wrote an excellent and eccentric blog too that will remain online - check it out here.[I think this picture was taken in The Phoenix after Solaris's End of the Line launch - really captured the vibe of that time for me. I think Jon Oliver was holding the camera, or Jenny Hill]

HOUSE OF SMALL SHADOWS TRANSLATED INTO SPANISH, PUBLISHED BY MINOTAURO
House of Small Shadows has been translated into Spanish! My fourth novel published by Minotauro. The other three novels get new editions in 2023 too (A16, Ritual and Last Days). When I heard the news, I might have applauded with my small wooden hands.

THE RITUAL (FILM) MAKES INTERESTING COLLIDER LIST
Heart-warmed to see Collider feature 'The Ritual' alongside these heavy weights in horror cinema. Nice list to get on.
"Though the screenplay changes some things around, it mostly retains the same sense of visceral terror that comes along with being lost in the woods while confronted with things that are larger than yourself."
