HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT

TODAY'S PROPHETIC WORD

Trust God for your miracle. He knows just what you need and when you need it. He has hidden you under His wing where the enemy cannot see you.

TROY'S MIRACLE AT ENTEBBE AIRPORT

I’m not scared of a whole lot of things. Let’s see, I’m scared of heights, really loud noises, women with guns – you know, things that are logical. But the thought of being somewhere without access to food truly terrifies me. This is what I was dealing with on our first mission trip to Uganda, East Africa.

I had no idea the food would be so plentiful and good. All I knew was I had never seen a fat man from Uganda so I had better go prepared. And preparation meant mama. You see, my mom had always wanted to go to Africa, so I took her too. I figured between her and Leanna, there was no way I would go hungry.

Mom and I prepared for our two weeks in Uganda by loading two suitcases with beef jerky, tuna and cracker kits and SPAM – lots of SPAM. If we were going to suffer for Jesus, it would not be for lack of food.

So imagine my horror and surprise going through customs in Entebbe Airport – a room filled with armed guards, mostly women, and huge signs that said “IT IS A CRIME TO SMUGGLE ANY KIND OF MEAT INTO UGANDA PUNISHABLE BY IMPRISONMENT.”

“Excuse me?” I thought, panicking inside. We didn’t just have meat. We were practically representatives of Hormel with two cases of contraband SPAM!

My eyes darted around the room and I saw how the armed soldiers tolerated things in Uganda. They didn’t. They tore through each and every suitcase. My immediate thought was that I didn’t plan for my ministry in Uganda to be a prison ministry.

I whispered to mom and pointed to the sign. The blood drained from her face. It was a good time to “who-ka-ma-shie” and “shun-die.” I didn’t know it, but I was attracting the attention of a woman with an automatic weapon trained to spot people who are unusually nervous.

“Excuse me sir. Is there a problem?” said a deep female voice behind me.

I wanted to explain that we’d never been to Uganda and we didn’t know until right now that it is illegal to bring meat into the country. Instead, I opened my mouth and said, “Hi’dy!”

As soon as I said it, I knew that Johnson County, Texas had taken over. I just stood there stupidly and smiled.

“Hi’dy. What is Hi’dy?” she asked, gun uncomfortably close to my midsection.

I said, “You know, hi, how are you doing, good to see you – it’s short for howdy.”

“From where is your dialect?” she demanded.

Thinking of the suitcase of food I thought she asked, “What is your diet?” so I told her I eat just about anything.

“No, where are you from?” she said, impatiently.

“Oh, I’m from Texas and hi’dy is a common greeting there.”

All of a sudden, she lit up like a Christmas tree. “You are from Texas, where the Cowboys live?”

To cut to the chase, she and her best friend were college students and they had to write a paper on Texas. Instead of searching our suitcases, she escorted us out of customs and to her friend where we talked for nearly an hour in our most hick accents and told them all about Texas.

When we finally left and met our friends, they were shocked. It was a miracle! Nobody, and they said NOBODY, gets through Entebbe Airport without their bags being thoroughly ransacked.

The Lord hid us from our enemies and we were in plain sight!

I believe He does that for all of His children. He hides us from our troubles and terrors. When the child molester comes to your neighborhood, let him not see your children. When the virus invades your work, let it not be able to find your lungs. When the thief looks for an easy mark, may you be invisible to him.

“For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.”                                                                                         – Psalms 27:5

THIS IS A GOOD DAY TO OPENLY THANK THE LORD THAT HE IS HIDING YOU FROM YOUR ENEMIES. YOU ARE IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND TODAY AND EVERY DAY!

THRIVE VS. SURVIVE

TODAY'S PROPHETIC WORD

Your selfless, faithful actions will result in authority over obstacles of evil. Your focus will be adjusted to God's love and you will not just be a survivor, but an overcomer!

BE AN OVERCOMER

Goodness is a catalyst for incredible miracles, transformations and moves of God. Why? Because it always has selflessness attached to it. And what does selflessness have attached to it? The love of God, which brings grace to overcome to the party!

Listen to what the Bible says about the God-kind of love:

Love… bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all thing. Love never fails.     – 1 Corinthians 13:7-8

Wow! God’s goodness is seen in believing, hoping and enduring, but overcoming – that’s just plain powerful!

The supernatural power to overcome obstacles comes from serving others selflessly, which is the opposite of our nature. We are naturally selfish, so serving others is an act of our will. See, the goodness of God that overcomes evil starts off as a willingness to serve, but ends up as a transformational juggernaut, aka: Heaven’s momentum.

Heaven’s momentum comes from faithfully serving without losing focus or falling out. Heaven’s authority is also part of faithful service.

But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.                                                                                              – Luke 22:26

In the kingdom, authority is reserved for servants. When people are selflessly serving others, God and His goodness show up and change everything.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO KNOW YOU ARE A WORLD CHANGER. SERVE OTHERS SELFLESSLY AND WATCH AS MIRACLES, TRANSFORMATIONS AND AUTHORITY TO OVERCOME OBSTACLES FLOW TO YOU FROM GOD’S GOODNESS.

THE DESTRUCTION OF DRAMA

TODAY'S PROPHETIC WORD

When drama comes knocking, you don’t have to answer because Jesus has given you the heart of an overcomer! Stability and confidence trump demonic drama!

DRAMA QUEEN

In 2015, the pop culture world was rocked by the man formerly known as Bruce Jenner and his sexy pose on the front cover of Vanity Fair magazine.

The 65-year-old grandfather was glammed up as an ultra airbrushed beauty in women’s lingerie. Sporting perfect new breasts and a beautiful face that had been feminized by reconstructive surgery, Jenner showed off his new woman’s form with the words, “Call me Caitlyn” written across the cover.

If you have a prophetic eye to see, you can see how Jenner is a willing puppet of something he knows nothing about. Remember this: Bruce Jenner is not the enemy. He’s just a guy, or girl depending on your point of view, who is trying to find peace and happiness. He even said that this is way bigger than him. Well, he is right.

The spirit behind his actions is a dark, demonic movement. It is something not only destructive to human beings, but any civilized society where goodness abounds.

OK. Here’s where the prophetic comes in: the name Caitlyn, means “pure.” In this generation, what is shameful, will demand to be called “pure.” Drama will demand to be called “reality” – just look at the surge in “reality” TV that is not realistic at all!

You don’t have to hate Bruce Jenner. He has every right to manipulate his body however he wants to. However, you don’t have to call evil “good” either. God has a holy hatred for those who call His glory “shameful.”

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness.                                                                                                                                                    – Isaiah 5:20

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO SEPARATE GOOD FROM EVIL. ASK THE LORD FOR THE GIFT OF DISCERNMENT SO YOU CAN WITHSTAND THE ONSLAUGHT OF GOOD BEING CALLED EVIL.

YOU'RE IN GOOD HANDS

TODAY'S PROPHETIC WORD

God is sending His angel armies to fight on your behalf! Know that the battle is the Lord’s and rest in Him.

IN HIS HANDS

Can I tell you, without making you mad, that angels are not chubby white babies with wings and harps? Here’s another shocker: when good people die, they do not – I repeat, do not – become angels spreading joy and happiness throughout heaven.

Angels are God’s special creation. According to the Bible, angels are warriors and they are chomping at the bit to kill somebody!

When Peter went to defend Jesus with a sword, Jesus told him, “I don’t need you to defend me. I have twelve legions of angels at my disposal any time I call for them.”

Heck, who needs 12 legions when 2 Kings 19 records a single angel killing 185,000 Assyrians?

So if there are 6,000 soldiers in a legion, 12 legions is 72,000 soldiers. If one angel is powerful enough to kill 185,000 people, do the math: 12 legions could kill 13 billion people! It is estimated that the world’s population at the time of Christ was only 250 million people. The population of the world didn’t even reach 1 billion until 1804!

The point is, if 12 legions of angels could take out a minimum of 13 billion people, Jesus held the safety of the entire world in His hands. He still does.

That truly gives new meaning to the children’s Sunday School song, “He’s got the whole world in His hands,” and it’s a very good place to be.

So make sure you understand that angels are powerful warriors that war in the heavens on our behalf. Need supernatural deliverance? Ask Jesus to unleash an angel to fight for you when Satan is breathing down your neck. They’re just waiting for the command to war against the enemy for you!

Also know that Jesus is in control today, just as much as He was in control in the Garden of Gethsemane. Fear not!

But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?”                                                                                                                                                         – Matthew 26: 52-54

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO KNOW GOD IS IN CONTROL. HIS ANGELS ARE PREPARED TO BATTLE THE ENEMY ON YOUR BEHALF! PARTNER WITH GOD BY PRAYING HIS WORD AND RELEASING ANGELIC ASSIGNMENT THROUGH POWERFUL DECLARATIONS.

LOSING YOUR MIND?

TODAY'S PROPHETIC WORD

God loves to see you bear the fruit of self-control. Decide early in the day to fill your mind with God’s Word. Consider what you are thinking about throughout the day so you can cast down any wrong thoughts. Filling your mind with God’s truth will begin to displace wrong thinking and you will find you are changing your actions

DEALING WITH DISAPPOINTMENT

Ever found yourself throwing a fit or losing it when things you planned are not as successful as you had hoped? I have, and like me, you need to let the Word of God deal with you concerning how you deal with life’s disappointments.

Seriously pray for God to give you an anointing for mercy in stressful situations because losing it and bad mouthing others are surefire ways to let the devil have your witness.

When thoughts turn to anger, blame, excuses, slander (false witness), envy or infighting, we lose control. There is a reason the nine Fruit of the Spirit begins with love and ends with self-control. Our thoughts are to be loving and controlled so that ungodly mindsets will be disposed of.

Instead of losing your mind, stand! Make a clear and definitive stand in your thinking so you will have a mind that glorifies and belongs to the Lord in every way.

Remember, your brain has teeth. If you do not command, restrain and control it, it will chew your life – and your testimony of Christ – to pieces. You can forget about fighting the devil or overcoming the world until you get real about dealing with the three pounds of flesh between your ears.

It is time for you, as a Christ follower, to take back your God-given mental turf with clear strategies from the Word.

We are to “take every thought captive” and to “have the mind of Christ.” When ungodly thoughts creep in, kick them out in the name of Jesus. Purpose to think of something good, or do what I do, change the mental channel by singing praises.

I want to encourage you to not let yourself lose your mind when things don’t go the way you planned. The collateral damage of lost relationships and a compromised testimony are devastating to the Kingdom.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…                                                          – 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO LEARN HOW TO TAKE YOUR THOUGHTS CAPTIVE BEFORE THEY BECOME ACTIONS. PRACTICE LOVE AND SELF CONTROL SO YOU WILL HAVE A HARVEST OF FRUIT FOR THE KINGDOM.

STEELING THE MIND

TODAY'S PROPHETIC WORD

Build up your defense against Satan’s attacks by thanking and praising God for His grace and goodness. He has your back when the devil comes against you. You and the Lord are a majority!

ARMOR UP!

Are you ready for a demonic attack on your thought life? Many of us think we are, when in reality, the devil has a head start.

Remember, he’s been messing with minds for around 6,000 years so he’s good at it, like really good. If you think you can withstand a sneak attack from the father of lies himself, stop and think about the number of pastors, evangelists and upright Christians he has devoured because they didn’t recognize the enemy sneaking past the gates of their mind.

How will you keep evil from taking over your head? You had better armor up!

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.                                                                                                                      – Ephesians 6:13

The evil day is coming my friend and you’ve got to have your defenses up, or you will not be able to stand – and He has specifically called you to stand!

God has not called you to “hang in there” because you are vulnerable when you’re hanging from something. You are called to STAND. It does no good to stand if you’re not armored up, so check out exactly how this works.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;          – Ephesians 6:14-17

Notice all these pieces are defensive except the Sword of the Spirit. That’s because you’re under attack every day and you need to withstand so that you can counterattack with the weapon of the Word. The devil will attack your mind with lustful, jealous, angry, sensual, prideful, greedy, selfish thoughts – all day, every day. Whether you fall for them is up to you.

Be prepared! Suit up and stay standing.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GET SERIOUS ABOUT PREPARING FOR THE BATTLE FOR YOUR MIND. FIND OUT WHAT IT TRULY MEANS TO PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD, THEN STAND YOUR GROUND!

WHY AM I SO BLESSED?

TODAY'S PROPHETIC WORD

You’ve been blessed to be a blessing! So great are your blessings that you can walk through rising rivers and not be swept away. You can run all out and not faint. Remain focused on Him and watch your blessings grow.

IT’S BEST TO BE BLESSED

Let me blow your mind a little this morning with a revelation I’m sure you’ve never been told: It takes hard work and commitment to be blessed.

What? Aren’t you just blessed because you’re God’s child? Yes, you are, but also no, you’re not. You see, it takes selflessness and a willingness to change your way of thinking to match God’s if you want to move forward.

People who walk in the promises of God are people who have been through difficult things to get there. Just because they do not smell like smoke, doesn’t mean they haven’t been through the fire.

Meshack, Shadrack and Abednego can tell you from experience that even though it looks painless, changing your attitude and conforming to God’s will tends to hurt. You learn not to give in to the pain and discomfort because you know God will reward you. When the reward comes, you tend to forget the pain.

A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.                                                                                                                       – John 16:21

When you refuse to “yield your members” (Romans 6:13) and conform your life to the heart and dreams of God, you actually forfeit your upgrade. Saul gave up his upgrade, along with his crown, family and nation because he refused to conform to God’s very clear order.

So Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   – 1 Samuel 15:28

Don’t be like Saul. Hang on to your upgrade. Work for it and fight for it. Being blessed is something you strive for. It will cost you, but the reward is worth it.

And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them.                                – Daniel 3:27

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GO AFTER YOUR UPGRADE. BE PREPARED TO SHRUG OFF ALL CARNAL FEELINGS OF OPPOSITION, HARD TIMES AND DISCOURAGEMENT. EXPECT TO BE BLESSED AS YOU CHASE AFTER THE HEART OF GOD.

GETTING STILL AND SMALL PART 2

TODAY'S PROPHETIC WORD

God is a god of miracles! Expect Him to move in miraculous ways and wait to see what He will do. Expect Him to lead your steps right into that divine appointment.

THE MIRACLE OF GOD'S PERFECT TIMING – PART 2

Are you ready for the rest of the miracle behind bars where God’s perfect timing will blow you away?

Well, the next day, I’m 250 miles west of the Michael Unit where a stone cold criminal had told me his story of redemption. As we parted, he mused aloud how he wanted to tell his family he had gotten saved and was a changed man, but knew they wouldn’t believe him after all his lies and crimes.

The Texas Rangers were playing at the Ballpark in Arlington. My friend, Maurice, and I decided we needed to go. We found a scalper and scored two el-primo seats right behind third base.

As I sat down, I politely said, “Hi” to the stranger next to me and put my attention on the game for five innings.

Then, in the sixth, Benji Gil hit the ball so hard, I shouted, “Praise God!” convinced it would go out of the park. It turned out to be foul, but the skinny guy next to me said, “Are you a Christian?” Well, the answer was yes, and we both politely talked about being in the ministry. When I mentioned prison ministry, he leaned over and quietly said, “I don’t usually tell people this, but I have a brother in prison.”

“Oh, really? What prison is he in?” I asked.

“The Michael Unit,” he replied.

“I was just in the Michael Unit last night. Maybe I saw your brother,” I said.

“You wouldn’t see him in a church service,” he said with a sad look. “The last time I tried to pray with him, he spit in my face and threatened to rip my tongue out.”

That’s when it hit me – in the midst of tens of thousands of people, God was moving. My jaw dropped to the ground as this stranger told me the same story I had heard the day before. He admitted that after his brother spit in his face, he decided to get on with his life, but he was sorry he didn’t keep trying.

“But you did. You sent him a Bible for Christmas. He read it, got saved and has been a big part of the church for more than eight months,” I told him.

As he sat at an MLB game and cried, I described his brother and told him word for word our conversation from the night before.

“Well, big brother. God has honored your prayers and your ministry to your brother in prison,” I said.

“My brother is saved?” he asked for confirmation. “How did that happen?”

Surrounded by tens of thousands of Texas Rangers fans, I confirmed a miracle.

“He read the red letters!”

You see, our God is a god of perfect timing. He causes us to be in the right place at the right time, for the right miracle to happen. What are the odds that the tickets I purchased just before the game would put me in the seat next to the brother of the prisoner I had prayed with the night before? The only answer is that God orchestrated it.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.                                    – Psalm 37:23

GETTING STILL AND SMALL

TODAY'S PROPHETIC WORD

This is a time to “be still and know that I am God,” says the Lord (Ps 46:10). When you are still, you have time to reflect and meditate on the Lord; to hear His voice for your situation. He is speaking. Do you hear Him? Still your heart and be prepared to hear His voice today.

THE MIRACLE OF PERFECT TIMING - PART ONE

Way back in the piney woods of East Texas lie some of the state’s most notorious prisons. Many of them have the reputation of being what inmates call “Gladiator Farms.”

The Michael Unit is one of those prisons. So when I was invited to preach there, I was surprised to find the chapel completely full. Praise music was flowing, the Spirit was moving and there was a general feeling of expectancy.

I noticed a man clutching a Bible and worshipping with huge tears streaming down his scarred cheeks. The scars proved he had done his share of fighting. The tears proved he had surrendered to Jesus.

He had a beautiful hand tooled leather Bible cover. I asked if he made it. He said yes, because his Bible was very special to him. “I’m going to be in here a long time and I don’t want it to wear out,” he said.

This man had been a curse to his family all his life. Though he was raised in a good home with good parents and loving brothers and sisters, no matter how much they loved him, he chose trouble. He told me there was no end to the terrible things he put his family through.

He had stolen from them all, and threatened them all. Then, the year he should’ve graduated high school, he did something terrible that put him behind bars for the rest of his life.

Still, an older brother visited him every month and tried to talk about Jesus, but the man would have none of it. The brother came for years and years until the man finally spit in his face and told him he never wanted to see him again.

The brother left and never came back. The prisoner was sorry, but didn’t know how to apologize or ask forgiveness.

One Christmas, he got a package and when he opened it, there was a Bible. His brother had written a simple inscription inside: “READ THE RED LETTERS.” As my prisoner friend was trying to figure out what it meant, another inmate attacked him and tried to kill him. This was a blessing in disguise because he was immediately put in segregation for his own safety.

With nothing else to do, still and small for the first time in his wretched, selfish life, he read the red letters. He got saved and months later when he met me, he admitted he wanted to tell his family, but feared they wouldn’t believe him after all the games he had played. “How can I prove it?” he mused.

Read tomorrow for the rest of this prisoner’s amazing story and listen to the spirit’s prompting today. Get still and small so you can hear the gentle voice of Jesus.

Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.                                                                                                                            – 1 Kings 19:11-12

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GET STILL AND SMALL. THAT’S WHERE YOU WILL FIND THE VOICE OF GOD. HE IS SPEAKING TO YOU!

THE FAMILY RESEMBLANCE

TODAY'S PROPHETIC WORD

God’s loving kindness is greater than any and all of your troubles. When you focus on evil, His ability to operate through you is reduced to your own resources. Focus on what He wants to do through you, then watch His goodness multiply through you.

YOU'RE JUST LIKE YOUR FATHER!

As people who are supposed to reflect the face of God, we are to love what is good. We are to do good and celebrate anything that is selfless, kind or uplifting.

Do you have a high value for the betterment of other people? Do you have the Kingdom perspective of selfless giving? If you don’t, you should. It will bring heaven to earth.

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.                                 – Romans 12:9-13

If you live as a redeemed resident of heaven on earth in the midst of this ungodly generation, you will learn to love what God loves and hate what God hates. He really loves goodness. He really loves seeing His kids go out of their way to be kind, and reach out to those in need.

However, He is ecstatic when He gets the glory for your goodness. To Him, it’s like hearing someone say, “She’s got her Father’s eyes!” or “He’s generous just like his Daddy!” It makes Him so proud when you point to Him and let people know your goodness runs in the spiritual family.

When was the last time you pointed to Him? If it’s been a while, find a reason today to practice goodness and brag on your Father in heaven. To God be the glory!

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.                                                                                                                                                      – Matthew 5:16

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO LOVE WHAT GOD LOVES AND HATE WHAT HE HATES. BRING HEAVEN TO EARTH BY DOING SOMETHING GOOD TODAY. SHOW OFF THE FAMILY RESEMBLANCE!
