I Am Wise:

All women possess an inner voice which is both intuitive and very wise. It is important to rely on this inner voice, or this inner wisdom, for guidance throughout our individual life journeys. Although the wisdom is always present, there are certain things we can do to help make it more prominent. Relieving ourselves of the busy noise of the outside world is one way. Put away the cell phone, shut off the TV, close the laptop. There are some sounds (traffic, the neighbor's dog) which we cannot shut off. But, that's okay. As long as we take care of the immediate distractions, and take a few moments to have some quiet time with ourselves, to relax or meditate, and focus on our inner feminine, the inner wisdom will also shine through.

I Am a Trailblazer:

When we think of trailblazers, more often than not most of us probably picture, well, famous people. Nellie Bly and Amelia Earhart are both examples of trailblazers. So are Rochelle Forrest, Katie McCorkle, Shannon Miller, and Kate Neligan. What people probably don't think of very often when it comes to trailblazing, is that each of us has the ability to become a trailblazer at any time because each of us has the ability to impact the world, and the future, in a unique and amazing way. And as we find ourselves trailblazing along, it is important to remember the impact not only on the present, but on the past and the future too.
Trailblazing is one of the seven traits of femininity that is showcased in Women Will Save the World. Rochelle Forrest changed gears from nursing, a supporting role, to coaching, a very active role, in which she dedicates herself to helping others heal their lives in a more spiritual sense. Dr. Katie McCorkle is the founder of Balanced Heart Healing Center, a nonprofit health center that treats patients unconditionally. Former Olympian Shannon Miller hosts the Health and Wellness Channel's The Wish List with Shannon Miller and also runs her own company. Kate Neligan is founder and CEO of Mindful Media Entertainment, LLC, a studio whose mission is to elevate minds through transformational television. These women have made remarkable progress in their fields. They have successfully created businesses and services which did not before exist and now that they do exist, the world, undoubtedly, is a better place.

Life is scary at times. We have good reasons to become worried, afraid, anxious. Bad things happen. We lose loved ones; we lose hope. Through various means, women are often given a certain idea of femininity, which is not always depicted as strong. "Athletic" is often equated with masculinity. And we all know how a woman who acts assertively is generally looked upon. It isn't always easy to shake these societal (mis)conceptions. Women are inherently strong. Strength is a wonderful feminine quality. But we are often made to feel as though we have to be careful as to how we display that strength. One thing is true: no matter how our strength shines through, we must welcome it, embrace it, and appreciate its underlying beauty.

Due to the feminine trait of nurturing, all too often women are prone to putting everyone else's needs before their own. This is something that needs to stop if we truly are destined to save the world. We may think that taking care of ourselves is selfish, when really it isn't.
