Mary Ellen Ciganovich Saves the World

Mary Ellen Ciganovich empowers others through her words. She is a well-known educator and inspirational speaker, and author of "Healing Words, Life Lessons to Inspire."
In "Women Will Save the World," Mary Ellen shares an essay on "Learning through Acceptance." As a child, she was diagnosed with epilepsy; she developed MS as an adult. It always seemed that people were telling her what she could not do because of her illnesses. She was told not to join a sorority, that she would never get married, that she could never be normal.
Thank goodness Mary Ellen is a headstrong woman who didn't listen to a word of it! She has not only led a "normal" existence -- getting married and having a child -- she is also a well of inspiration to those around her! She has made good use of her words, through her book, her speaking engagements, and her work as a teacher, and she is a beaming example of what one woman can do.

How has feminine nurturing saved the world?

Florence Nightingale embraced a calling to care for the sick. She improved worldwide standards in the nursing profession and in medical care and ultimately saved millions of lives. -- "Women Will Save the World"
Florence Nightingale was guided by her inner feminine nurturing. Although she was born into a wealthy family and had a very good education in the liberal arts, she felt it was her life purpose to become a nurse. She not only cared for the sick by bedsides and in hospitals; she changed the way things were run. Through her outspokenness and determination, she accomplished great things. Notably, she single-handedly brought the death rate to 2% in military hospitals during the Crimean War, at a time when over 8,000 troops had been struck by cholera and malaria, both deadly diseases.
She was rewarded for her work. She was awarded many honors from many different countries, including the Royal Red Cross by Queen Victoria in 1883. She is a shining example of how one woman can have a great, and lasting, impact on the world.

Feminine Strength Will Save the World!
How Will Women Save the World?
Let us count the ways ...
* This blog is part of Absolute Love Publishing's ongoing series celebrating Women's History Month and the book that honors women everywhere, "Women Will Save the World."
Strength
Michelle Hastie
“Confidence,
sexiness, femininity, and radiance do not have a size requirement.”
Michelle Hastie is a Certified
Personal Trainer, Master NLP practitioner, and Master hypnotherapist. She is a
speaker, author, and coach who works with overworked, stressed-out
entrepreneurs to reduce tension around food and exercise, remove weight
naturally, and return to freedom in a body that truly expresses who they are.
In the book, “Women Will Save the World,” Michelle writes about beginning her career in health as a personal
trainer who counted calories and worked out hard. Instead of feeling good, her
body was stressed and overworked. It wasn’t until a very bad accident—she was
hit by 5 cars!—and the ensuing weeks of recovery that she discovered there is a
more natural way to staying healthy. She now works to help others lose weight
naturally with little to no effort.
We caught up with Michelle to see
how she has saved the world lately and discovered she has had a lot going on!
Michelle:
“I have had THE year of
growth in 2012! Even though I had a lot of learning lessons, I came out of it
clearer and more focused than ever. I also had the opportunity to take my
understanding of my value and my voice to the maximum which has been super
powerful. Lastly, I launched a sister brand to my company [Total Body Health Solutions] called Total Business Strategies, helping women entrepreneurs take a spiritual approach to business
and get lasting results without struggle.”
ALP:
That sounds exciting! Please tell us more. What kinds of lessons have you
learned?
Michelle: “I now have a new
sense of value and worth like I have never had before. I had the unfortunate experience
of being bullied and began to put myself last in order to please someone
else in the business world. I learned that you should always investigate what
type of results the person you are looking to invest in actually has before
making the bold decision to spend your money with a mentor.”
ALP: It sounds like you pulled through. As we
know from reading WWSTW, you are a very strong woman. What kinds of
opportunities have you had over the last year?
Michelle: “I have had various
articles published online and I am also now partaking in an online reality show
called ‘Prosperity’s Kitchen.’ I work in a team and take on missions for
points. The person with the most points wins a $10,000 package. I also
soft-launched Total Business Strategies last month. I have not done a full
launch yet, as my focus is on rebuilding my practice in light of my
circumstances from last year.”
ALP: You are such an inspiration to others. What motivates you
to continue to save the world in the ways that you do?
Michelle: “My inspiration comes from
my absolute clarity in my purpose. I have had some really tough months. Months
where I didn't even have money to eat. I was so focused on chasing my dream for
my business to reach the masses. I never gave up. It only told me I needed to
study faith more, that there was something about money and success I didn't
fully understand yet. I truly believe in absolute abundance, and not hustling
to get it. The more fear I felt, the more faith I grew. I know I am meant to
shout this information out to the world and no roadblock can get in the way of
that, no matter how real it feels.”

Alicia K. Vargo is the president and owner of Pampered Passions Fine Lingerie & Post Mastectomy Services. Named "Best Lingerie Store" by Intima Magazine, the company's mission is to "Nurture the Female Spirit."
Alicia has a special knack for nurturing others. She is often able to guess what people need before they even know themselves. She was also on the Board of Agriculture, where she oversaw 22 wineries and served as Wine Advisor to the Governor. She was about to give a speech to a large group of people when she realized she was not feeling "pretty all under."

Feminine Creativity Will Save the World!
How will women save the world?
Let us count the ways.
Creativity
Beverly Solomon
“I
chose to stick to my principles.”
Beverly’s inner feminine virtue
shines through her creative endeavors. Fashion was one of her earliest
passions, owing to her mother who was a fashion designer in Miami in the early
1950s. Beverly started modeling and later became an account executive in sales
and marketing for fashion powerhouses such as Diane von Furstenberg, Revlon,
and Ralph Lauren. She has used her expertise to promote her husband, artist
Pablo Solomon, and currently holds the position of creative director for
musee-solomon.
In the book, "Women Will Save the World," Beverly describes
her perseverance as she battled cancer at a very young age. As a young woman,
she saw her bosses and peers in the fashion industry become entangled in drugs
and messy personal situations. She transcends them by remaining true to her
principles, to the authenticity of her feminine self.
Beverly continues to save the
world by nurturing her creative soul. In the last year, she has been featured:
· -- In
the book, “Affordable
Couture”
by Jemi Armstrong and Linda Arroz, contributing tips on how to shop like a pro
and never pay retail
· -- In
an interview by fashion blogger Heather Petrey for LAfashionsnob.com
· -- In
the latest edition of the college textbook, “Marketing Essentials” by Farese,
Kimbrell, and Woloszyk, published by McGraw Hill
· -- In
an article by Sonja Carberry in the July 23 edition of Investors Business Daily
for tips on overcoming rejection in sales
· -- In
an article covering
Tangerine Tango, the Pantone color of the year for 2012 by Amy Powell which
included her comments and a photo of her home
She also put on three art shows at
her husband’s museum, and looks forward to working with new clients this year.
We recently had the chance to catch up with her to ask about her latest
projects.
ALP:
Could you tell us a little more about your work as Creative Director at musee-solomon?
Beverly: “As creative
director, one of my favorite things to do is work with our clients. They always
become friends in the process. When I'm working with a client, I become privy
to their lifestyle, their preference in art, and other things that are
important to them. What's interesting to me with my high-end clientele who have
several homes is how each house represents their different personalities in
different environments. Such as a strictly business home in the city to entertain
important guests, a country house to go to and recharge, a very casual place where
one hangs out with their ‘real’ friends. Pablo's favorite thing is when we get
invited to a client's party and he can show off his art.”
ALP:
Do you feel there is a natural attraction between yourself and others who are
creative?
Beverly: “I do feel a natural attraction to others
who are creative. I think that connection comes from speaking the same
‘language.’ When my husband Pablo and I work with artists or creative people in
general, we can feel the creative juices flowing with everyone's input and the
energy is high. It is a wonderful feeling.”
ALP: Do you see a connection between working with artists and saving
the world?
Beverly: “I don't know if we are ‘saving the
world’ but we are saving that creative moment that we hope will have a lasting
effect on people. When you look back on history, it's the art and architecture
that seems to survive and that can be very inspiring for the present
generation. We try to keep that in mind as we work on our everyday tasks. You
never know what a lasting imprint you may leave behind.”

How can feminine strength save the world?

As Empress, Catherine the Great used her personal strength to transform Russia into one of the most powerful countries in the world. -- "Women Will Save the World."
Catherine was married to the Grand Duke Peter of Holstein who later succeeded his mother as Russian Emperor. When he proved to be a shoddy leader, Catherine removed him from the throne and took over. She became the longest-ruling female leader in Russia. She revitalized the country and promoted the Russian Enlightenment, all while expanding the country's borders over 200,000 square miles to the Black Sea and into Central Europe.
This would be a remarkable accomplishment by today's standards, and Catherine did it in 1762! She was strong, as well as independent, and she fully demonstrated how one woman's strength can impact the world.

Feminine Intuition Will Save the World!

Let us count the ways.
Intuition
Elizabeth Harper
“That
first leap of faith took me on a journey that changed every aspect of my life.”
Elizabeth Harper is a popular and
inspiring teacher, color intuitive, and psychic artist who saves the world by
empowering others to realize their light. She is the author of “Wishing: How toFulfill Your Heart’s Desires,” founder of Sealed With Love LLC, and co-founder
of Spiritual Living LLC. Each week she gives a uniquely revealing color reading
on her globally featured segment, ColorScope.
In the book, “Women Will Save theWorld,” Elizabeth shares her journey of coming to America from England with
little more than a wish and the conviction that her intuition, her inner GPS
system, was guiding her to her highest and greatest good. She was mysteriously drawn
to New York, where she discovered her career and love wishes would magically be
fulfilled.
We recently had the opportunity
to catch up with Elizabeth to find out what she has been up to recently.
ALP:
In “Women Will Save the World” you shared how your feminine intuition has
changed your life and also guided you to helping others. Since publication of
the book, what has propelled you to continue saving the world in the ways that
you do?
Elizabeth: “My soul propels me to share a little
light-heartedness and humor in what can be a world filled with the heaviest of
burdens. I make a point of listening to my heart every day. Its messages filter
through my weekly Love Letters, ColorScope Show, and all of my different
offerings. Saving the world begins with reaching into the hearts of my
community. As a child I loved to read books inspired by the teachings of Silver
Birch, spirit guide to Maurice Barbanell. One quote has stuck with me. He said
that if you help just one soul during your lifetime then all of your life has
been worth living. I share this important message in all of my healing
workshops. We don’t know what will help someone, but we can start with a kind
word, a show of support, or maybe a hug. This is our joint purpose, to
help each other, to support each other, to love each other, and this will save
the world for all of us.”
This month, Elizabeth is headed
to Bermuda with her husband Win where they will be conducting sessions and
workshops. They will also be appearing in Portland, Maine as keynote speakers
at the Transform event hosted by Heartglow. Created by “Intuitive Parenting”
author Deb Snyder, Heartglow is a charitable organization helping special needs
family caregivers. Speakers are offering their services for free so that all
proceeds go to support the charity.
Elizabeth
Harper and Win Harper will be in Bermuda March 7th-11th
at Spirit House.
The
Transform Event will be taking place in Portland the 23rd and 24th.
