Reaching The Next Generation

bebe's been at us to let her watch Star Wars lately - pretty much since The Force Awakens released, but it's been more prominent since the beginning of February. I'm guessing some of her little friends keep talking about it, but for whatever reason, she's been desperate to see it, and until you've faced down a 7 year old's desperation you don't know anything about desperation...or maybe I'm just a pushover. In either case, we decided to institute Family Movie Night last Friday and to appease...

Who Do You Think You Are?

by Lynn Crandall
Lynn Crandall lives in the Midwest and writes in the company of her cat. She has been a reader and a writer all her life. Her background is in journalism, but whether writing a magazine or newspaper story or creating a romance, she loves the power stories hold to transport, inspire, and uplift. In her romances, she focuses on vulnerable, embraceable characters who don't back down. Welcome to the round Corral, Lynn!

Who do you think you are?
No, seriously. Who do “You” think you...

"Order of Fear" Cover Reveal!

Lisa Caviness holds a special place in my heart because we’ve traveled the writing path at about the same time. She is the unobtrusive Yin to my boorish Yang, writes Romantic Suspense (it’s always the quiet ones, isn’t it?), and has her first novel coming out at the end of this month. So I’m beyond excited to get the honor of introducing her to all of you!

Lisa is a lifelong reader of an eclectic pool of books, from mystery/thrillers, science fiction, contemporary romance, and the classics. S...

Begin Again

by Margie Senechal

For me, the last couple of years have been about change.

Leaving my safe--if at times frustrating--job without a back up was a leap of faith. I spent a summer just doing whatever I felt like doing before getting a job.

The job I have now doesn't pay near as much as my previous position, but I'm doing what I want to do. I get to freestyle merchandise--setting up displays, rearranging walls of product--pretty much 75 percent of my time. This week has been particularly challengi...

It Takes A Village

Do you all remember that book from the '90s? Something like It Takes a Village to Raise a Child? Don't worry, this isn't a parenting post...and I have to admit that while I remember the title of the book I never did read it.

Anywho.

We're about to be in the middle of Renovation He!! here at Casa Knight. We're (finally) redoing our verysmall main bathroom, we're adding privacy fencing to the backyard, and you know a hot tub isn't going to be far behind that fencing, and we're also cons...

Beginnings . . .

I had an idea the other night . . . just the seed of a new story and now it's filled my head and I'm itching to get started on it, but unfortunately, my "real job" is taking up every waking hour. So, I'm making notes and trying to stay awake later, after putting in 10- to 12-hour days editing, in order to piece this story together and to find exactly the right way to begin. It's hard because after you've worked on other people's writing all day, your only inclinations are to a) sleep, b) eat...

Cover Reveal!

Aliens live among us, and they are also super hotties, according to Fiona Riplee. A quick glance at the cover of her first novel (to be released soon!), and I agree whole-heartedly!

Since sci-fi is near and dear to my heart, I'm thrilled to spotlight fellow sci-fi romance writer, Fiona Riplee. The much-awaited cover reveal for her first book "Circle of Lies" whets our appetite to learn about the exciting world she has crafted, where human-looking aliens ...

HAVING FAITH OR GIVING UP?

 by Margie Senechal

When do you make the decision to keep going or give up?

Yesterday, I read an article about Kathryn Stockett, the writer of The Help in which she was rejected 60 times before finding an agent who not only loved her novel, but was able to sell it within weeks. And she spent over three years writing it, rewriting it, editing it, and rewriting it.

This article made me think about Bix. To be honest, he's always in the back of my mind--because I do believe in him and that ther...
