“I know logically that I can live without him, but loving him has become such an integral, necessary part of my life; I am not sure I could stop, even if we parted.”

“I think there are two types of writers, the architects and the gardeners. The architects plan everything ahead of time, like an architect building a house. They know how many rooms are going to be in the house, what kind of roof they're going to have, where the wires are going to run, what kind of plumbing there's going to be. They have the whole thing designed and blueprinted out before they even nail the first board up. The gardeners dig a hole, drop in a seed and water it. They kind of know what seed it is, they know if planted a fantasy seed or mystery seed or whatever. But as the plant comes up and they water it, they don't know how many branches it's going to have, they find out as it grows. And I'm much more a gardener than an architect.”

*drool* Yes.
We live about 40 minutes from the French border and we are as far from Paris as we are from Munich. You should definitely try to come back.
I've only been to Washington, and that just barely. Summers here are too hot for me--Germany was great for me, except for the humidity.
I would love to go to Greece/Italy! (I've only ever been to Germany...we passed close to the French border and I tried to convince everyone that we should detour, but no one went for it).
It's been very mild here so far this year, but I am definitely more a warm weather girl and we just don't have nice long warm summers here, although we went to Greece and Italy last fall and it was awesome.I've never made it to Canada, the farthest I've made it was upstate NY and the Adirondacks. 3 feet of snow in mid March, brrrrr...

And I was only in Germany in the summer. Winters are cold here, but there really is a difference between wet and dry cold!
