BDSMonday Archive - January 20 2014

It’s BDSMonday!

Today’s thought is sort of related to one of the first BDSMondays I ever posted, the one about tops needing safewords, too.

I’ve noticed that it’s usually portrayed, and I’ve seen, that tops are the ones pushing limits and wanting to go further, with the bottoms being reluctant or more cautious.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I’m here to tell you—it does happen the other way around! I’ve seen it! Why, just the other night, my Sir and I were doing some knife play. We used to do quite intense knife play, stopped for a few years because our living situation sucked and we didn’t really do any play whatsoever. We recently started knife play again, and while I was very much gung-ho and immediately wanting to return to the advanced level we had left off at, my Sir needs time to work back up to that and make sure he’s comfortable.

TL;DR: Not only are tops (Doms, Masters, etc.) allowed safewords, they are also allowed to have and express limits.

It’s BDSMonday!

Today’s question is about finding time to play. It can be hard to squeeze in between eating, sleeping, work (I have no idea how those of you with kids do it!)

What are some quick, easy kinky things you like to do when you don’t have much time or energy?

My Sir usually ends up biting and/or spanking me if our batteries are running low. Teeth and hands are always, well, handy! We don’t always have a full scene. It might just be a quick little giggly fun. I know that I, for one, tend to get a bit squirrely if I don’t play for a long time! Sometimes I’m not even sure why I’m feeling weird or down, and then I play and go ohhhhhhhh. Right.

Paid by the Weird: So... Vampires.

Paid by the Weird: So... Vampires.: Blood Sight  came out today. Well, technically, it came out late last night, but by the time I got the email, I was already in bed and...

BDSMonday Archive - December 30 2013

It’s the last BDSMonday of the year!

So it only seems appropriate to ask: what was your best (and, if you feel like it, worst) kinky memory of 2013?

I think my best would actually be quite recent, when I played with two tops :D

BDSMonday Archive - December 23 2013

It’s BDSMonday! (wow, only one more until next year!)

Today’s question: what is the best scene you’ve ever played or read about?

(I keep asking BDSMonday questions that make me think about the answer, too.)

I guess mine would be…any time I get past the first wave of percussion play, and I get in the zone where I can take a lot more and it feels like I could go forever.

It’s BDSMonday!

Today’s question:

What are some of your favourite things to use for sensory play?
Some of my favourites are:
- pennies: if you put them on someone who’s blindfolded, the pennies feel like drops of water
- wax: after spanking, it feels like acid! Wonderful, wonderful acid :)
- ice: it has so many uses, but a really neat one is to put an ice cube in a cupping…cup…and the person being cupped can’t feel the ice until the cup comes off. It’s weird!

It’s BDSMonday!

Today’s question: have you ever made your own toys?

I’ve made a flogger and a cane during workshops, and I’ve painted a few paddles. I also helped dismantle/improve several pieces of bondage furniture, though I’ve never actually built any myself.

You'll Wear a Different Chain

I just used the word 'counterpoint' and now I have this stuck in my head. (I may have used it intentionally. Shhh!)

I don't know if any of you know this, but Les Mis is my core/default fandom setting. I first saw it when I was five. I listened to the soundtrack (on tape!) all the time. My glow bugs were all Les Mis characters (and boy was I choked when my mom got rid of them without my knowledge!) Like, hardcore, dyed-in-the-wool Mizzie. I own the new movie, but the closest I've come to watching it (I saw it opening night in the theatre and they almost had to drag me out of there seriously I had a complete breakdown) is to take the plastic off. I had the entire counterpoint memorized (I usually sang Valjean's part, and let me tell you, it sucks. Seriously. It has no melody. It's just shouting. Javert's has some actual notes and things.) I own a beautiful copy of The Brick that my ex (the same one who made me sing Valjean's part while she sang Javert's) carried around in her backpack until it was all tattered and eight years on I'm totally not still bitter. *ahem*

(In case anyone wants to know: I ship the fuck out of Javert/Valjean, and I'm most obsessed with Les Amis. I ship Enjolras/Grantaire even though I think it's a terrible relationship for both of them, but it's hot as hell and sooooooooooooo canon)

Yay Productivity!

Today:

- 6+ hours of "real" work
- 5+ hours of author work (none of which, by the way, was writing a single word for a WIP, ack!)
- my wife is asleep. This is bad. She hasn't eaten or practiced cello yet
- my brain is totally fried
- number of Goosebumps episodes watched...I don't even want to know

I Have an Almost Entirely Useless Magical Ability!

On the way back from my trip to the hot spring, I saw a coyote trotting by right beside the road. I was in the middle of a conversation, so I didn't interrupt to point it out. When the conversation reached a natural lull, I pointed out the window and said, "Hey, did you guys see that coyote a minute ago?" Everyone in the car kind of looked at me funny. I moved my finger and there was a coyote exactly where I'd been pointing! I had to explain that I had been talking about a different coyote, and I spent the rest of the trip filling people's cars with coyotes using only the power of my mind.

(Also! I'm being proactive and starting to pre-write some of my A-Z Challenge posts.)
