Oh man, can I not answer this one? Ugh. I was into John Travolta. Like seriously. I mean, I was watching Grease, Saturday Night Live, and Urban Cowboy like OMG!
4) What is one song that you’d sing in the shower?
That changes weekly LOL. This week it’s Fetty Wap’s 679 because I love that silly chorus. The week before it was Wicked Games, and before that it was Imogen Heap’s Hide and Seek. It’s whatever I’m feeling.
5) Heels or sneakers?
HEELS. Heels are super sexy. I was a major tomboy as a child, and so when I discovered I could still run in a pair of heels because I ran on my toes in track it was game on from then!

1) When did you decide writing was for you?
Writing was always fun and a natural part of my childhood. It wasn’t until I joined a writer’s group that I contemplated writing for others to read my work, and eventually writing as a profession. By the late 90s, I knew that I wanted to pursue this with serious intent and I worked hard for six months to finish writing my first romance story.
2) What was your most embarrassing day?
Pretty much most of my childhood, even some college days could be described as embarrassing day or moments. I was out of my cultural element as a foreign student and wasn’t always at the top of the learning curve of what was cool.
3) Were you adventurous or a wallflower as a child?
For many who didn’t know me or who I didn’t trust/like to be in my friendship circle, I’m sure that they thought of me as quiet. But really, my friends and I were adventurous and funny. 4) What was your guilty vice as a child?

I really didn’t do anything that warranted me to feel guilty and I’m not sure of any vices. I was fairly obedient so I didn’t have punishments and time-outs and groundings.
5) As an adult?
Nothing really. I don’t like to feel not in control, so I don’t give in to addictions – TV, food, drugs, etc. So if I feel like I’m spending too much time on something, I just stop doing that thing. My inner voice has a pretty big voice.

The Dragon in the Stone: By Doris O’Connor
I always say I find inspiration in all sorts of places and this story is no exception.
The idea first came to me during a walk with my kids last summer. As we were meandering past the stream in one of our local parks, my ten year old daughter piped up.
“Look mummy, that’s the stone that looks like a dragon.”
She pointed toward a rock formation that made up one side. Now, I’ll be honest I didn’t see a dragon, just rock, lol, but she was adamant it was a dragon. As were the
other kids, when they looked.
So, it got me thinking about this girl who sees the dragon in the stone. The idea was
born, and when the lovely Rhonda in my reader Group, The RavDor Chicks asked me
to write dragon story… the rest is history as they say.J
The Dragon in the Stone was my NaNoWriMo effort last year, and you know with the awesome Gary Taylor as my visual inspiration for Lord Drorgan, my fingers flew.

Not only did I win NaNoWriMo, but I had the story submitted and
accepted by the end of November, something of a record for me, I tell you. And
that was with me wanting to bash Dorgan’s and Rhonda’s heads together, at time.
They’re as stubborn as each other, and I was beginning to despair that they
ever would get it together. When they do… well, he’s a dragon and things get
HAWT in an entirely different way.

Am I up first….GREAT! (sarcasm abounds)
1) Do you have a nickname? Or did you ever want a nickname?
Unfortunately, yes. I’ve had two in my life, one I loved and one that made me cringe when I heard it as a grown woman LOL. When I was a kid my uncle called me Newy Lou, a play of my last name, Newton. It, thankfully, took over Booby (from my mother). My second nickname stuck with me all through life. It’s Hazel, because of my eyes. Only problem, of course, was that there were people that didn’t know what my real name was LeTeisha. My dad HATED that when they called me and asked for Hazel while I was growing up.
2) Favorite hobbies when you were a teenager?
Got to say it was reading and gaming. I was a serious bookworm and nerd. If it was a fantasy novel or an RPG I was there. From Carey to Tolkien, or Feehan and Showalter, I was reading it. If it had anything to do with Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts I was addicted to playing it. Wait…I still do that. So, yeah LOL. Major nerd over here. Oh, that an Anime. I love Anime.
3) Favorite movie(s) that you could watch on repeat?
A lot of people don’t seem to remember The Fifth Element starring Gary Oldman, Bruce Willis, Mila Jovovich, and Chris Tucker. It was a Fantasy/Sci-Fi movie that I watched on serious repeat for years. I still can watch that movie at anytime, anyplace, and I don’t apologize for it.
4) What did teachers write as your “needs improvement?”
I was one of those students that everything came easy for. I was an International Baccalaureate (#IBProblmes!) that didn’t have to study ever. So, my problem was procrastination. Why do the 5 page paper early when I could write it in no time the day it was due? Come on, college was a breeze after IB. Seriously.
5) When did you know that writing was the career you wanted?
I knew that in high school. I kept writing books in these spiral notebooks, and my mom gave me an old computer to type out what I wrote when I was ready. I loved creating stories, and everyone in my class would steal my notebooks to read in class. It was a game at how many people would like my story by the end of the day when I finally got my book back.

Japanese Sushi:
Step 1: Cut the Fish. With one clean slice cut a strip of 2.5 inches long,1 inch wide, and about 0.4 inches thick.
Step 2: Add Rice. Wet hands in a mixture of vinegar and water. Take the vinegared rice and form it into a thumb-shaped block.
Step 3: Dab on Wasabi. Just a little dab right in the middle of the slice of fish. That side of the fish will go face down on the rice.
Step 4: Nigiri. Place the fish on the formed piece of rice and press on it in palm of hand, shaping the nigiri.
Step 5: Garnish. Use kitchen blowtorch and fire the nigiri for about three seconds — some of the rice is lightly blackened. Then squeeze lemon on the top and add a small amount of radish (daikon).
