New contract signed with Oscillate Wildly Press
I'm thrilled to announce that I have signed a contract with Oscillate Wildly Press for my short story collection, "300 Degree Days and Other Stories", first published by Ginninderra Press.
Sometimes, the ties that bind are sharp enough to cut. In these eleven stories, set in contemporary Australian suburbia, Deborah Sheldon examines the darker side of family relationships. Unsettling and incisively written, each story of betrayal, envy, loss or bad blood resonates for a long time after reading.
"Sheldon’s stories lift the skin of small, suburban lives to expose the raw nerves beneath. Her writing is intimate, compelling and alarming…" – The Short Review, UK.
The collection is scheduled for release in 2018. http://www.oscillatewildlypress.com/

New contract signed with Severed Press
I'm thrilled to announce that I have signed a contract with Severed Press for my creature-horror novella, "Thylacines". It is scheduled for release January 2018.
The premise: The Tasmanian tiger, or thylacine, was hunted to extinction some eighty years ago. Now, Professor Rosie Giuliani and her staff at the Resurrection Lab have done the impossible: created a living, breathing litter from a preserved specimen. Yet Rosie can't share this scientific breakthrough with the world. Something went wrong during the cloning process. The creatures are freakishly huge, vicious, more like monsters than thylacines. By chance, a small band of activists hears about the caged litter. Their decision to free the tigers will unleash a horrifying and deadly havoc upon the campus of Fraser University.

New contract signed with IFWG Publishing Australia
I'm thrilled to announce that I've signed a contract with IFWG Publishing Australia for a collection of 33 stories. The collection, untitled at the moment, will be released in Q3 of 2018.
From the IFWG website:
"I’m excited by this project,” stated Gerry Huntman, Managing Director of the publishing house, “because we have Deborah’s latest fiction collected in ‘Perfect Little Stitches and Other Stories’, and this acquisition distills the very best of her earlier dark fiction. We also decided to add a bonus two original pieces. We have an amazing relationship with Deborah and it makes perfect sense to publish the complete continuum of her dark fiction for reader enjoyment.”
