A clarification on Conqueror Womb submissions

Hello weird-fictioneers. Justine here. I’m editing this erotic-horror anthology for Martian Migraine Press and I’m happy to report that the slush pile is starting to grow. We’ve already purchased one obvious stand-out tale and are beginning to review others.

What I’m not happy to report is this: we are seeing stories (mercifully short ones, but still) that feature sexual contact and abuse of underage individuals. And we are so not interested in reading this stuff, let alone putting it into pri...

A Thoroughly Gnostic Foreweird, Shubby Subs, and Lovecraftian Science

We’ve received the Foreword (or Foreweird, as he appropriately titles it) by Jordan Stratford (author of Mechanicals, Living Gnosticism: An Ancient Way of Knowing, and A Dictionary of Western Alchemy) for Scott R JonesWhen The Stars Are Right: Towards An Authentic R’lyehian Spirituality and we gotta tell ya, Migraineers, it is some erudite stuff and no mistake! Stratford describes the work as an exercise in “cryptarchaeoxenotheology”, even. Grok the following excerpt…

“… the Madness of Cthul...

Some CONQUEROR WOMB Inspiration from Filmmaker Joseph Nanni

Submissions are rolling in for THE CONQUEROR WOMB: Lusty Tales of Shub-Niggurath! So far we’ve seen some dark and atmospheric short and flash fiction and we’d love to see more. To inspire you in your erotic-horror imaginings, here’s Joseph Nanni‘s teaser trailer for his film Black Goat… imagine this scenario, only sexier, and you’ll be on the right ancient track to our final edit column! Shub-Niggurath is a fertility deity after all, so there’s no reason why our intrepid investigator here cou...

Leviathan Rising — Nick Mamatas’ “Love Is The Law” (review)

There’s a lot of Thelemic hoo-ha in Nick Mamatas’ new noir novel Love Is The Law, and I am fine with that, since for a good portion of the ‘00s I ran with as gnarly a pack of wannabe Crowley-ites and ritual occultists as you could ask for. I’ve had about as much of that as a person can stand, which is to say I get the stuff, and the fastbreeding esoteric patter of narrator “Golden” Dawn Seliger is tone-perfect in this book. You don’t have to get Thelema or understand where Dawn is coming from...

Nothing But Fun in the No-No Zone — Shon Richard’s “The Dark Lords of the Earth”

If there’s a trick at all to writing weird smut, it’s finding that balance between the background tang of strangeness (that sharp, shocking flavour that is essential to the good stuff) and the sex itself. That, and of course maintaining a consistent voice throughout the piece that brings the two (seemingly at odds) elements together. It’s a tough trick to pull off: you want the Strange and the Sexy to mesh, to actually merge. Not to put too fine a point on things, but you want them to fuck, a...

The Times Are Interesting For Erotica

We open our inbox this morning to find a little encouraging missive from the Amazon content mavens: Your book is available in the Kindle Store, it says. Huzzah! Seems our response to the giant’s request for a cover change to JustineG‘s Summonings: Anicka & Kamil was met with approval by whatever bizarre metric they use. Now, considering that THIS is what upset them…

… we wonder how it is that THIS met with a nod (electronic or otherwise) of acceptance?

Again, we feel it’s very likely that the b...

Sure, It’s A Pornographic Book, But Is THIS A Pornographic Cover?

Well, we suppose it had to happen eventually: the great and powerful Amazon got around to Martian Migraine Press erotica titles in their review process, and have found ONE of our covers for JustineG’s BLACKSTONE Erotica series worthy of a wrist slap…

We’re cool with it, obviously, and will make the changes they request (not least because Kindle is our biggest market so far), but we are also shaking our collective head, because THIS is what they are considering to be too far out in the sea of s...

Two Shudderingly Fine BLACKSTONE Reviews

Erotiterrorist and Lovecraft fan Shon Richards (Violatrix, Dark Lords of the Earth) has been in the game for a while, we understand, so when he says that the climactic scene of Justine Geoffrey‘s RED MONOLITH FRENZY took his breath away, we’re inclined to stick a shoggoth-barb in our hat! Thanks Shon. We love Justine (and we’re not just saying that because she used the Triple-Word on us!) and we’re glad more folks are coming round to her unique brand of weird arousal!

Shon’s full review here >...

Lusty Tales of Shub-Niggurath

Guest editor Justine Geoffrey (author of the Blackstone Erotica series and Orgy in the Valley of the Lust Larvae), along with S R Jones (author of Soft From All the Blood and the upcoming When The Stars Are Right: Towards An Authentic R’lyehian Spirituality) are looking for pulpy tales of fertility and fear, sex and sacri...

First Review for JustineG’s PRIESTESS

PRIESTESS contest winner Bobby Derie, who is (at least so far as we can tell!) a scholar and a gentleman if he is nothing else, has dropped the first of what we know will be a string of five-star reviews on Justine’s epic collection of weird erotica. To wit:

Among the dross and fool’s gold of Lovecraftian erotica ebooks published in the last few years, Justine G.’s Blackstone Erotica series from Martian Migraine Press stands out as one of the most entertaining, intelligent, ambitious, and dari...
