RESONATOR! Frequency Shifting with Lyndsey Holder

RESONATOR_313pxRESONATOR: New Lovecraftian Tales From Beyond drops officially at the end of this week! FRIDAY MARCH 13th! A day that will no doubt live in some kind of infamy, according to our recent tea leaf readings and repeated exposure to cosmic rays in our specially constructed ray-harvesting bunker! (Ahh, the things we get up to for fun here at MMP HQ! We can’t even, not even.) Anyway, you can still PRE-ORDER the paperback edition of RESONATOR HERE (until Thursday, naturally — jeez! Tomorrow? Yes.) an...

MMP Third Birthday Discount Madness!

We don’t like to make a big deal of these things, but yes. Yes, we’re three years old. If we could pinpoint the actual birthday of something as nebulous as a micro-press, than by Daoloth we would. But we can’t. We just know (addled as we are by weird smut and gonzo horror and, oh, cosmic rays, probably) that we had our start around this time of the year. Hence, our annual anthology release (this year it’s RESONATOR: New Lovecraftian Tales From Beyond – say, whaddaya waiting for? Click the lin...

RESONATOR! Frequency Shifting with Orrin Grey

RESONATOR_cover_ebookRESONATOR: New Lovecraftian Tales From Beyond drops officially at the end of this week! FRIDAY MARCH 13th! A day that will no doubt live in some kind of infamy, according to our recent I-Ching readings and repeated pressings of our collective forehead to large magnets and plasma balls! (Ahh, the things we get up to for fun here at MMP HQ! We can’t even, not even.) Anyway, you can still PRE-ORDER the paperback edition of RESONATOR HERE (until Thursday, naturally) and not only save on shipping...

50 Shades of R’lyeh

We just built this 50 Shades of Grey movie poster parody, and posted it to the Martian Migraine Press Facebook page. Guessing it went to the Twitter, too. Well, dropping it here on the MMP site minutes later, just in case it blows up, meme-wise. You saw it here first. We did this, the quality weirdos at MMP. For the record. And as far as we’re able to tell, we were first. So there. #50ShadesOfRlyeh #CthulhuWillSeeYouNow #StillABetterLoveStoryThan50ShadesOfGrey

RESONATOR Front Cover Reveal

Nick Gucker, as has been mentioned before here and elsewhere, is the 21st Century Lee Brown Coye, a Weird illustrator of the first water, so you know we here at MMP HQ were seven kinds of excited to commission from him the cover art for our upcoming anthology, RESONATOR: New Lovecraftian Tales From Beyond. Mr Gucker was also a complete pleasure to work with and watching his creative process was a real privilege. The piece he created is called Primal Spermatozoa Oblongata Enlightenment … sure,...

New Mascot!

We’ve been quiet lately. We know. Periods of stillness are necessary for the germination of… things. Or so we are told. Anyway, expect some large-ish announcements over the next few weeks. Book and magazine releases, contests, other nifty stuff.

In the meantime, check out our sly new MMP mascot, drawn by the talented Michael Lee Macdonald aka Alchemichael…

ToC Announced for RESONATOR: New Lovecraftian Tales From Beyond

We won’t sugarcoat it, Migraineers… the selection process for our annual anthology this year was a grueling one. Our eyeballs bled some, our pineal glands require some form of etheric massage (so if you’ve got a line on that, or you know a guy, give us a call, please!) and we are this close to never wanting to read another manuscript again! But, the slush pile, which once held just under 150 stories, has been plumbed, sifted, agonized over, and finally reduced to the 17 stories (including tha...

A Cover Tease from Nick the Hat!

Are we excited to be working with celebrated weird artist Nick “The Hat” Gucker on the cover for RESONATOR: New Lovecraftian Tales From Beyond? You know it! The man’s a latter day Lee Brown Coye and his wildly energetic renderings of monstrous creeping psychedelia are just the ticket for our upcoming anthology of trans-dimensional horror! And so, a quick tease from Nick … a handful of clips from his preparatory sketches. Slivers, really, but we hope they whet your appetite for more!

Keeping It R’lyeh IN STYLE

Greetings, Migraineers! Say, have you read Scott R JonesWhen The Stars Are Right: Towards An Authentic R’lyehian Spirituality ? You have? FanTAStic. And did you, upon completing the book, think “Gosh! It sure would be swell to somehow exteriorize this feeling of #KeepingItRlyeh in such a way that others might notice my enlightened status as a #Cthulhusattva? If only the #BlackGnosis could be rendered in clothing form somehow, I would surely wear such an article upon my person!”

Well, we here...

“Fresh Out of Mercy”: The Catastrophic Horror of Nick Mamatas

I don’t recall how I first encountered the writing of Nick Mamatas. I know it happened in 2007, a year that saw me greyed out and dull from a dead-end managerial job. It pleases me to think I may have been at work when it all went down. At work entailed surfing the internet for anything to cut the boredom, which meant vainly hoping that some intersection of my interests would draw from the electronic undermind a gem. A rare enough occurrence, but it happens. And this time it did.

Mamatas had r...
