Muse Food – Cute Yet Dangerous
A visitor to Canada once called a Canada Goose a ‘cobra chicken.’ And that is a fitting description.
Canada Goose look harmless. They waddle. They’re covered with soft feathers. They aren’t very big.
Yet they will peck your brains out. For fun.
They are one of the most dangerous animals in Canada because they are mean, they’re strong, they’re relentless. They’ll chase you across the entire neighborhood just because you dared to look at them the wrong way.
The contrast of cute yet dangerous is a great setup for villains and for romance heroines. No one expects the tiny woman dressed all in pink to beat their a$$ into the ground. (grins)

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – December 15
Claiming Cure, the third and final story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series, will be my last published story for the foreseeable future.
I don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Very few of us do. But for now, I’m chillaxing. I’m reading. I’m spending time with the Dear Wonderful Hubby. I’m searching for the best low carb brownie recipe. I’m having fun. (smiles)
Have a wonderful week, my friends. (big hugs) And try to have some fun also. Your own special brand of fun. That could be telling terrible jokes, wearing ‘ugly’ sweaters, sending loved ones bizarre and unique gifts, having a Piña Colada for breakfast, or something else.

Throwback Thursday – Containing Malice
If one of your favorite cyborg romances is Releasing Rage, I suspect you’ll love Containing Malice also.
Malice has been trapped in an underground Humanoid Alliance laboratory. He doesn’t realize his cyborg brethren are free. He doesn’t realize cyborgs have genetic matches. He doesn’t realize they can have kids.
And he definitely doesn’t believe in hope.
He’s angry and frustrated and in pain and a significant portion of that emotional turmoil is directed at the human female forced to experiment on him.
Containing Malice
This tormented cyborg craves vengeance…and her.

Malice, a C Model cyborg, has spent his long lifespan enslaved by the Humanoid Alliance. His cruel manufacturers have hurt him in all the ways a male could be hurt.
His enemy has now added a new weapon to their arsenal—a tiny human medic with soft hands and a delectable scent. She experiments on him multiple times a shift, delivering pain…and frustration.
He wants her. He also seeks retribution.
Once Malice frees himself, he plans to achieve both of his goals, taking Medic Illona captive and ending her research…permanently.
Illona is as much a prisoner as the cyborgs she experiments on. Since her arrival at the Human Alliance’s secret laboratory, she has carefully, stealthily, crafted a plot to free her test subjects. To conceal her covert activities, the medic has been forced to harm beings rather than heal them.
The being she has damaged the most is also the cyborg she fiercely desires— Malice, a huge, gray-skinned, blue-eyed C Model with massive hands and a voice deeper than space. He hates her, has good reason to do so, and, when he’s freed, there’s a high probability he’ll kill her.
Illona will take that risk to ensure he survives.

One More Day
That post title – One More Day – has me humming the awesome song with the same name from the musical Les Miserables. (grins) And it is an appropriate song as Claiming Cure deals with war and sacrifice.

Rereading Stories Before Claiming Cure’s Release
Claiming Cure, the third core story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series, is releasing on Tuesday (Monday night if you’ve pre-ordered it)! Woot!
Claiming Cure can be read on its own. But I know some of my dear reading buddies (big hugs) like to reread stories before a new release.
The best story to reread is Drift Would, of course. Drift is Cure’s mission partner and that story overlaps in the timeline with Claiming Cure.
Strike Zone, the first story in the series, is a great choice also.
Doc makes a brief ‘appearance’ in Claiming Cure. His story is Doc’s Orders. That features a pandemic so if you have trauma from our own ongoing pandemic here on Earth, it might not be the best choice for you. (gentle hugs)
Grudge is also mentioned. His ‘explosive’ story is Baring Grudge.
Other than that…maybe Intrepid Encounter? Intrepid is Cure’s captain.
