On the brighter side of things!
By: Marcia King-Gamblewww.lovemarcia.com
It’s almost the end of the year and I’m hoping it ends on
a positive note. While 2020 has had its
challenges, think of it as a year to reflect and be grateful. Yes, I ‘ve been accused of making lemonade out of limes,
but that’s just my personality. But wouldn’t you rather me be sweet than tart?
Yes, I know jobs were lost, and that’s never a good thing,

The Wild Year! (peeking into the crystal ball)
by M. L. BuchmanLast year I wrote two December posts for Romancing the Genres, one looking ahead a year, and one looking at the coming:DECADE OF THE 2020sYes, I got cocky and made my predictions for an entire decade in: How's Your Decade Been? I've just reread that post and...I don't think I'll be changing any of those long-term predictions (except a few might be happening sooner than I said).

Christmas e-cards vs Christmas letters vs Christmas card
by Diana McCollum
CHRISTMAS LETTER
Ah-h-h, the Christmas letter, instead of a card. I have several friends who have sent me Christmas letters every year I’ve known them. Personally, I don’t care for Christmas letters! I prefer a card with maybe a quick note to tell me how they’re doing. I don’t really care that they visited Uncle Sam and his pet dog Spot who recently died, or the grandson (who

Ten Tips for Lifelong Romance by Lynn Lovegreen
This post was originally posted on Lynn’s blog. Most of us were raised on the idea of romance. From Pride and Prejudice to Love, American Style to Crazy Rich Asians, our books, shows, and movies have been selling us true love for centuries. It’s natural for us to want it in our own lives. But for many, it’s harder to hold on to than it looks in the stories.

It's All Relative by Eleri Grace
It's been a year, hasn't it? A year unlike any other in recent memory for most of us. A year the vast majority of people are happy to see end in a few short weeks. And things look better for 2021. With any luck, most of us can be vaccinated sooner rather than later in 2021, and life can gradually return to some normalcy. As I reflect on this year, it's certainly easy to focus on all the things

Wrapping up the year by Paty Jager
I'm excited to say, I had a good writing year. I finished the books I'd planned to write, made my word goal, and made decisions about a new series. The year had a few downfalls. All of my conferences were cancelled. I was disappointed in that, but I found other ways to keep busy and learn. Looking forward to 2021, I have a series ending and a new one beginning. I had the idea for the new series

Changes In Publishing 2020 - 2021 by Maggie Lynch
Wow! 2020 has been quite a year. I’ve heard from authors who
have had their most successful year ever because of the pandemic and people
reading more. I’ve also heard from authors who have had the worst year ever
because of the pandemic and people reading less. How can they both be right?
Genre, distribution, types of books they distribute (ebook, print book,
audiobook). The one thing I know

Comfort and Joy by Dora Bramden
Comfort and Joy are exactly what I'm in need of this year. I also don't think I'm the only one. Finding the good feels and is different for each but some of us crafters know that a session at our craft table is the road to peace and contentment. Christmas is a great time for me because I love making Christmas decorations. I didn't know if I'd be celebrating the Christmas season with family and

Re-spinning a Holiday Classic
By Robin Weaver It's a
Wonderful Life is truly one

the plot is hardly

unexpected, even by today standards, so we’ll leave Clarence
