What is the Importance of love scenes?
Judith is the author of The Sacred Women’s Circle series,
romantic fiction that honors spiritual practices that nourish the soul and
celebrates the journey from relationship to romance.
I’m
not sure why, but in 2016 when Sarah Raplee and I were putting together our
2017 themes and topics, the song with the words “It’s the time of the season
for loving” was running through my mind which is

My first book, Capture the Sunrise, went on sale in
November 2005, the same month BET sold its imprint of African-American fiction,
mainly romance, to Harlequin Enterprises. I was ecstatic. I was finally a published author and I was
writing for my dream publisher

My Scary Day at School
by Courtney Pierce
My scariest school day―Registration. As a first-time Mom, the thought filled me with
trepidation to launch my eleven-year-old stepdaughter on the right path at her
new middle school. Even at the ripe age of fifty-eight, I was nervous, nearly
as much as she was. We kind-a hung on to each other. The stack of paper handed
to my husband and I was more than a little

WPA School ‘Daze” for Mystery Writers & Fans
By Linda Lovely
I’ve been going to “school” at least once a year for the
past five summers. So while lots of
folks are gearing up for a fall return to classes, I’m decompressing from
attending my fifth Writers’ Police Academy, held this year in Green Bay,
Wisconsin, at a real, international-accredited police academy.

Love Gone Wild Down Under! by Cassandra O'Leary
I’m a new Genre-ista and I’m so pleased to be joining the blog this month with a round-up of happenings in Australia. A little about me: I’m a romcom and women’s fiction author, and my first novel, Girl on a Plane, was published by Avon Books/HarperCollins UK in 2016 after I won the We Heart New Talent writing contest. I love coffee, wine, movies, and hanging with my two little boys (and one big

A Sweet Feat
by M. L. Buchman
First, the obligatory eclipse photo as we were one of the very few spots at first landfall on the Oregon Coast where there was a rip in the bank of sea fog to let us see it.
More here!
Yes, the dogs barked at the unexpected darkness and the birds sang the return of the light. Very magical!

BLAME IT ON THE ECLIPSE! by Sarah Raplee
HUSBAND VIEWING THE ECLIPSE
What were you doing during the "Eclipse of the Century" yesterday?
For people like us who live in the band of totality (where 100% of the sun gets blocked by the moon), the solar eclipse has been a Big Deal - something we've prepared to observe and celebrate for over a year! Which explains why I totally spaced off my blog post being due today. (That's my story

Writing THE SAMURAI'S HEART by Walt Mussell
THE SAMURAI'S HEART
I’d like to thank Romancing the Genres for having me today
and for tackling the topic of men in romance writing. A few years ago, I pitched
an article to Romance Writers of America’s magazine on the men of RWA. My suggestion was rejected. I’m
glad that there are others out there who think this topic is a good one.
So what does it mean to be a male writer in the
romance
