Novels & Holidays-What’s A Good Blend?

Here's the Kindle buy link.

Recently, I participated in one of the interesting
Roundtables sponsored by International Thriller Writers organization. The
question up for discussion asked if holidays offer good backgrounds for
thriller novels. My answer was “yes,” and I’ll give the same answer for romance
novels.

Here's the Kindle buy link

Holidays provide excellent backdrops for novels

How Christmas Launched My Writing Career!

...and became my favorite season of the year.
by M. L. Buchman

No one could be more surprised than me about that. I grew up in a household that, while not run by the Grinch, celebrated Christmas in such a dysfunctional way that I have done my best to purge those memories. It took years before I would even visit friends on that day.

Then along came my first Christmas with my new family. My wife

Holiday Flings...

Merry Thanksgiving and Happy Christmas!

Wrap the turkey, stuff the presents!

Wait...

I may have those confused a bit. As I get older, the holidays start to blur and crossover.
But you know what doesn't?

A great romance!

Here's a couple of books from days past that has kept me going during this awesome, yet sometimes draining, season!

Prisoner of My Desire by Johanna Lindsey.

My Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes by Kristin Wallace

Since it is Thanksgiving week, I wanted to share a couple of my
favorite recipes that we make every year with my family. Both of my parents
cook, but Thanksgiving has always belonged to my mom. Her family
grew up in Kentucky so a lot of our Thanksgiving dishes have Southern roots. It
is certainly the case with these recipes.

Serendipity Series Surprises by Magdalena Scott

“Ha-ha. That’s so far-fetched! It could never happen.”

Each book in my Serendipity, Indiana sweet romance series
ends with a surprise that concrete thinkers will write off as outlandish
coincidence.

But serendipity happens in real life. You’ll see it if you
look for it. Here’s how happy surprises popped up as I wrote this series. (I
had a plan when I wrote Book 1. Really, I did.)

Out of this World Christmas Romance Tales #holiday #scifirom

Hi, I'm Pippa Jay, author of SciFi and supernatural stories to engage your emotions. Every year I struggle to come up with SciFi romances involving holidays. It's not a subgenre that seems to lend itself to holiday tales very easily, at least not for me. I suppose in the far future, changes in our culture and possibly the planets we might colonize with their differing time scales and climates

Creating Holiday and Writing...

Next Thursday is Thanksgiving here in the United States.

This is hands down my favorite holiday. A day of gluttony aka heaven on earth.
This year Thanksgiving is going to be extra special as both of my oldest
children will be home for the first time in 7 years.  Right now I’m struggling with wanting to make
7 years worth of food. I have made menus, revised menus, and combined menus.

My Novels Have Soundtracks!

by Madelle Morgan

As I write this, Seduced by the Screenwriter is being formatted. It'll be available on Amazon by December. It's the second book in the Hollywood in Muskoka series, and is definitely the most emotional, hottest romance I've ever written. Needless to say, I'm very excited about the release.

The Soundtrack

I plot using the screenwriting three act structure  approach, as

It's beginning to feel a lot like the holidays!

By Marcia King-Gamble

It’s that time of year again. The holidays
are upon us, and excitement is in the air. The older I get, the faster the years seem to
go by. For those of you living in cooler climates amid changing leaves and snow
flurries, I envy you.

Here in sunny Florida, we’re experiencing a chill, meaning it‘s
no longer in the nineties. My air
