Snippets Overheard While Raising My Non-Domestic Goddess

By Robin Weaver

My daughter has matured into a delightful young woman and
I’m extremely proud of her.  The journey
to this delightfulness hasn’t always been so…pleasant.  Like most moms with rather—shall we say headstrong—teenagers,
there were more teeth-grinding moments than smooth roller-blading. In
hindsight, some of the interchanges with my daughter now seem a bit comical.

My Favorite Part of Christmas - Giving by Paty Jager

Even as a child I remember holding my breath when my gifts to family members were opened. I love seeing the expressions on the faces of family and friends when they see the gift I selected for them. I find as much fun in the hunt of the perfect gift as I do watching it being opened.

Which makes me happy to tell you about two gifts I have for you.

One is the chance to win left over goodies from

It Takes a Village and Then Some

Judith is the author of The Sacred Women’s Circle series,
romantic fiction that honors spiritual practices that nourish the soul and
celebrates the journey from relationship to romance.

It takes a village and then
some to do what?

In my case write novels.
Perhaps not the actual writing. Now that I know my writing process, I can get
that first draft written in about 6 weeks. But that is

The Gift of Christmas

by Diana McCollum

“The Gift of Christmas” is an anthology of short stories set
around Christmas time. This book came out a few years ago, but is worth reading
today.

All the contributing authors are multi-published. The
stories are from all different genres.

One in particular touched my heart, The Cancer Christmas by
Melissa Yuan, Melissa reveals how, when her father was diagnosed with

The "R" Word

by Courtney Pierce

I don’t think we Baby Boomers ever really retire. The word
is unthinkable and should be banished from the English language. It insinuates
that we’re replaceable―washed-up―and are willing to be pushed aside. To better
characterize our true nature, why not use descriptors like reach, realize, and reap?

I can’t speak for all of us, but as I sunset a

Steamy Christmases in Australia

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas…

Well, one day I might see a white Christmas if I travel to the other side of the planet during the holiday season. But as an Aussie, my experience of Christmas is quite different to many of my American and European friends and readers.

I’ve been thinking about Christmas in Australia lately, since I’ve just written and released a Christmas-themed novella set
