Don't Bother Reading This Post
Okay, this is it:
I am consistently surprised by Sam Lipsyte's appearance. Something in his name always makes me picture a skinny, Ira Glass-y man. Then I see pictures of him, like in this teasingly short post on Paper Cuts and I think, "whoa…wait…wait". I kinda hate him for turning me into the Keanu Reeves of book bloggers with this post, but seriously…Sam Lipsyte is the name of a man who is slight. Maybe it just rhymes.

Out of Print Clothing
Buy one of Out of Print Clothing's "iconic book cover" shirts, and they'll donate a book to children in Africa. It's better than ironic t-shirts. And it's charitable. So.
Okay, how do I really feel? I think the Moby-Dick shirt is a little much. I'm scared of the unimaginative jokes that could occur if I don a shirt with the word "Dick" on it, in any sort of context.
Also, be careful with the Lolita shirt. I mean, guys – don't buy it if you're creepy looking. I cannot imagine anything worse...
Currently Reading
The Princess Bride by William Goldman (don't knock it till you try it, okay?). Stay tuned for reviews of 100 Years…, Moby-Dick, The Magicians and American Salvage.

Three Lives Bookstore
McSweeney's The San Francisco Panorama
I diss on Dave Eggers a lot. Like here. And here. And also here. I mean, it's Dave Eggers. I feel he's the annoying roommate of my boyfriend that I never had.
However, The San Francisco Panorama is very cool.

Owning Books You've Never Read
I went to an amazing thrift store called Uncommon Objects in Austin. They had tons of old books with the old smell, yellowy pages, antiquated covers and everything else that makes books wonderful.
I was dying to buy some of them, DYING. I wanted them all. Except, there was one HUGE problem; I'd never read any of the books. And most of these titles were unappealing to me (like, Physics in a Post Modern World or something like that) or the books was so dilapidated that if I tried to read it, it ...
@BenBetter Dresses Up for SXSW
SXSW Interactive Brought All the Bloggers to the Yard
While at SXSW, @benbetter and I went to the ICanHasCheezburger party, hosted by Ben Huh. We hung with (the hilarious and very wise) Ian J. Spector, who writes the Chuck Norris Facts books. Also, we saw our old friend and favorite asshole Tucker Max. Huh, Spector and TFLN all share the same imprint for our books: Gotham. The meme blog world is small, @patrickmulligan pwns us all.

3D Bookshelf Updates
@IdealBinary added three new books, the ability to hide buttons and the ability to control the color scheme. Best Book application on the web! Can't wait to see what they are coming up with for the iPad.
By having the ability to control the brightness of the page and switch around the color scheme (you can make it bright text on a dark page), it is easier to read at night (and saves battery power? Maybe?). I have a train trip I'm taking tomorrow, I am going to try and finish A Journey to the...
