Piper Kerman's Memoir: Orange Is the New Black

I hate a lot on this site, but this is something I'll co-sign on; a memoir with an interesting story to tell. Piper Kerman's Orange Is the New Black recounts her journey in jail for a crime she had committed ten years prior.

The Help

A white girl helped out all the blacks in town! Huzzah!

Don't they recognize that as a potential point of criticism? It should be the first thing any critic looks at when you bring them a book about race relations.

The Help was a beautiful, moving book that took me about three seconds to read because I became so engrossed. All that aside, it's another Blindside (not that I've seen the movie, I'm not one for lowering my IQ).
