The importance of author branding

We are living in a world where anyone can be an author. So how do you set yourself apart from other authors? How do you let your readers know that they will like your books compared to another author's books? The answer is branding. Check out "Why an Author Brand Is Important" and learn the seven things that branding can do for you and your marketing as an author: https://bookmarketingclub.com/why-an-...

What fills you with dread?

French Philosopher Michel de Montaigne once said that he who fears he shall suffer, already suffers what he fears.

Deep, huh? And so very true.
What if the fear is false?
What if the fear is actually someone else’s fear projected onto me?
What if … is a fear in itself!

The feeling of fear and dread in my belly when I think about how I may fail to help all those that I’m meant to help because of my own fears and doubts is like that sinking feeling of having to do your least favorite homework at school.

But without facing those fears and doubts and doing what I need to do anyway, I wouldn’t be an award-winning, bestselling author who takes the fear (and time) out of writing a book! Nor would I be the author of two bestsellers, one of them a three-time-award-winning book.

Considering this realization, I’ll take the whole face, overcome, and conquer your fears path because I know that the other side of fears and dread are my dreams realized without the dread.

What’s the one thing about being an author that fills you with dread? How did you overcome it and what gains has it brought you? (It doesn’t have to be monetary gains by the way).

Happy Three Kings Day!

#ThreeKingsDay is a holiday that celebrates the three wise men who visited baby Jesus, a symbol that God became man to save all peoples. It’s also the day that some cultures exchange gifts (instead of Christmas). What other interesting traditions do you know or celebrate?

National Bird Day

Nature lovers, bird lovers, and bird watchers across the country are celebrating National Bird Day today. These beautiful, delicate (and occasionally not so delicate) creatures fill the world with song, color, and amusement. Alas, nearly 12% of the world’s almost 10,000 bird species are in danger of extinction. (Born Free USA) I hope that they can be saved.

Getting to know you

What is one thing that not many people know about you? I’d be hard-pressed to answer that one … I’m kind of transparent. Just ask my husband! LOL!

It’s #BaconDay … a day to celebrate salt-cured meat cut from a pig's belly or back. Yum!
