Happy Monday

[image error] Hi everyone, and thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed and participated on my past two blogs on Cities of the Future and what should we do with out current deteriorating inner cities. This is a passionate topic and timely in lieu of the upcoming elections. Thanks for your input.
I'm kind of tied up with writing Escalation (I'm farther along than I thought), working with my editor, and plotting my course for NaNo.
So for now, I will simply wish you a Happy Monday. Join with Snoopy and...

Why Can't We Rebuild Our Own Cities???

[image error] Well, why can't we? (Hey, this is turning out to be another mini-series).

Ever been to the inner city of Detroit, Chicago, or L.A.? After World War II, The Marshall Plan helped rebuild the cities and economies of a decimated Europe. We also helped rebuild Japan into what it is today. Yet, our own inner cities, and their the related infrastructures and hopelessness, are a paradox to what is arguably the greatest country in the world.

Okay, so the city residents also need to give...

Cities Of The Future - But What About The Cities Left Behind

[image error] Cities of the Future. What was once fodder for science fiction is now a practical concept just waiting to leave the drawing board and become a reality. Architects and visionaries have some amazing and incredible ideas that can bring the city of tomorrow, well ... tomorrow.
Here is just one example from Tasha Eichenseher from national Geographic Daily News: Touted as an eco-friendly floating city, the Seascraper (pictured in an artist's conception) is among a raft of concepts for sustainable o...

A Blogfest, My Blog Review, New Mini-Series, and More

[image error] It feels great to be back in blogging mode! I’m prewriting posts weeks in advance, there are lots of Blogfests, and I’m working on some ideas to bring back the Weekend Follies.
Letting Go Blogfest: Kyra Lennon at Write Here Write Now is hosting the Letting Go Blogfest. In 2006 I had to let go of a job and a career. I was in banking and finance for over a decade. But they day came where I had to either accept a transfer to Minneapolis or take the layoff. I opted for the layoff because I knew “...

Did I Notice Your Book Blogfest

[image error] This Blogfest is all about posting about a book you’ve noticed.

My book is on my Author of the Week Angela Brown’s Neverlove. Okay, so this is not my genre of choice. But I’ve known Angela through the Blogoshpere for some time now and she is one of the best at faithfully visiting other blogs, leaving in-depth comments, and being an overall positive force. So here we go. Angela Brown’s new release titled NEVERLOVE: [image error]
Synopsis: For seventeen-year-old Abigail, one rash decision leads to an unexpect...

The Nineties Blogfest

[image error] It’s time for the first of many Blogfests this month. Actor and writer David Black from London has invited people to suggest a favorite thing from each year of the 1990, be it music, videos. Movies, TV shows, books, plays, or whatever. Here we go:
1990 German reunification: Germany was split in two following World War II. By 1989, the Soviets could no longer afford their empire and let Germany go. The following year, the two Germanys reunited. France quickly surrendered.

Spacedock 19

[image error] Hi everyone, and as always thanks for stopping by! Today I’m guest blogging at Mary Pax’s Spacedock 19. So wy waste time with small talk here.
But first, we need a mode of transport. How about something we used from my 2012 Grand OPENING Tour. I’ll dig through junk in my garage. (C'mon folks, this took a lot of imagination). Lets see. How about: [image error]

Kibbles and Bits

[image error] Don’t Stop Now: Have you thought out how classic stories can continue after they end? I do this all the time.

Example: The Harry Potter series. I’m thinking of all the possibilities Rowlings can develop. She could do prequels with the four founders of Hogwarts: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin and create a whole new world and a new cast of supporting characters and adventures. Or Rowlings could focus on Voldermort’s first reign of terror before...

Bits and Pieces

[image error] Insecure Writers Support Group: I'm a little late getting this post up, but better late than never. Hey, that's always been a concern of mine, as I treat time as one of the most vital concepts of life. Time can never be replaced.
Another concern: finishing my third book finished in time to promote it for the holidays. I may have to wait until late winter to do so as I may not finish with my editor in time. I think mod-November would be the latest. This will be a push. November 15th...
