Music Monday – Breaking Benjamin

I, along with millions of fans have been for years for a new release from Breaking Benjamin. After health issues and a lawsuit and new band members, Breaking Benjamin, is back. They’re touring, they’ve got a new single that released this morning, and they’ve got a new album, Dark Before Dawn, set to release in June.

Links were supposed to go live at 9am EST this morning, but so far, the links aren’t live. I’ll be checking throughout the day though… For now, I’ll keep with the ecstatic feeling...

Sunday Speeds

I’ve been busy this week taking care of a sick family. I’m behind on writing, though with Evernote, I’m not as behind as much as I would be without it, and I’m trying to keep up with social media (read that as engage on Facebook with readers, Twitter is lost to me, and I have been very lax in my Pinning). I have also spent an inordinate amount of time going through stock photos because the Lone Star Sweets series is getting a new look. Again.

Tattooed Barista_200x300It sucks, y’all. It sucks big time. This series do...

Saturday Breakfast on Pinterest

Follow Lissa Matthews’s board Deliciousness – Breakfast on Pinterest.

I LOVE BREAKFAST!

I do. I love breakfast. For breakfast. For brunch. For Dinner. On the weekends. During the week.

Grits and eggs.
Biscuit sandwiches.
Pancakes.

Waffles.
French Toast.
Omelets.
Oatmeal.
Muffins and bagels and cinnamon rolls, oh my.

I have always loved breakfast foods and when I was working on my Pinterest boards recently, I decided it was time to create a Deliciousness – Breakfast one.

This board has a littl...

Obsessed (The Obsessed Series Book 1) kindle_buylink

I’ve read a few books recently. Trends in reading and trends in writing run parallel. What you’re buying and reading, drives what we’re writing.

One book I read was written by one of my favorite authors and it was awful. I was heartbroken. It was convoluted and confusing. I felt nothing at all for the characters. I usually devour her books. This one took me 5 days to finish.

I’m struggling in my reading. I’m struggling to understand the popular books. I...

Wordy Wednesday

KeepCalmProofingThere’s so much going on in the writing world. So many different types of books, trends, writers trying new things, new names, and reinventing themselves. I’m slowly embracing this and learning and loving it. I’m frustrated, but still loving it.

Along with all the new opportunities for writers, there are also new opportunities for other professionals…and those who… aren’t.

Be careful when you hire people to do your cover art. Be careful when you hire people to edit your books. Be careful when...

Sunday Speeds

Speeds are rather slow at the moment. Slow, but not relaxing. It’s been a rough few days in my house. Work on the next book hasn’t taken place save for scenes here and there written in Evernote. Instead, I’ve been working on keeping as much of my home germ and illness free as I can (though if DH and DD would stay in one place and not move around and touch everything, it would be easier). I’ve also been working out existing story lines in my head, working out new story lines for the future, tr...

Tune In and Tune Up Thursday – Inspiration

social-media-cube-1024x922

When I wake up in the morning, I grab my phone and check email, Facebook, Twitter, my Amazon KDP dashboard (this one always makes me want to pull the covers over my head and hide), and Pinterest.

Twitter isn’t often fun for me anymore. My feed is full of links to blogs, books…things so scheduled out that I’m never sure anyone is actually there. I hate that. I understand the need and ability to schedule tweets or send all your social media posts automatically, but it’s called SOCIAL for a rea...

Wordy Wednesday – Where Did The Day Go?

80s-cube-clock-08112009144704462

I ask myself this question every evening. My friend AJ asks this question usually starting about 4pm. Where did the day go? And the answer is always the same… Working. Doing stuff. Family. Errands. It always seems there’s just enough time to do one thing really well, and everything else gets thrown in the basket we use to tidy up the house each night.

Errands take up a whole day when you consider traffic and well, other people. Family takes up a good amount of time, if you like spending time w...

Love and Tattoos kindle_buylink

This one isn’t an old book, but it’s one of my favorite stories. I was reading through some passages the other night and was reminded of how much I loved it. It’s not your typical friends to lovers romance, but then, I’m not always one for typical, either…If you haven’t tried it, and you have Kindle Unlimited, it’s free for you to read until April 9th. If you don’t have Kindle Unlimited, it’s only $2.99
