Tune In And Tune Up Thursday – Going Back

(Warning: This is a LONG post)

220px-Say_Anything

In the movie Say Anything, valedictorian Diane Cord delivered a commencement speech that ended with the words Go Back. It went over the heads of most of her classmates and in all honesty, it’s a hard concept to Go Back. But sometimes I think we have to do just that in order to move forward.

Over the weekend I watched The Masters golf tournament as I do every year. Several things stood out to me in the hours of commentary before I was allowed to see any actual g...

Temptation Tuesday – Tempting You With A Sale!

AREBLAST

ARe_buylink

April 15th. Tax Day. We all dread it. I’ve already paid my taxes. We always have to pay. Ever since I started working for myself, we’ve had to pay taxes. Living in a state with a state income tax just adds to the fun. NOT.

So, to help us all have some fun on April 15th, All Romance eBooks is having a 25% off sale! And I am taking part. If you haven’t read Grinding Gears or Stick Shift or Shifting Currents, now’s your chance. All my titles published under my name will be 25% off tomorrow.

Sunny Saturday

2015Tattooed Barista_400x600

At least it’s sunny here and mild out. I have a meeting with my accountant in a little while for taxes. If you hear a wailing sound in an hour or so, it’s just me.

The purpose of this blog post is to apologize for The Tattooed Barista not being available yet. It’s almost a week from when I had planned for it to be out and a day past the revised release date. I’m so sorry, y’all. There are reasons and excuses (death in the family that hit me hard, my depression that also hit kind of hard and...

Temptation Tuesday – The Billionaire’s Assistant

How about a snippet from next month’s release, The Billionaire’s Assistant? The cover will be coming soon and it’s going to be incredible. This billionaire book isn’t going to be your typical billionaire book. I’ve put my own spin on it. But you’ll love it…

Snippet:

Cherry Stevens looked up from her phone when the door opened. A gust of cold air rushed in accompanied by…the man she’d screwed like a horny bunny last night. “Oh, you have got to be kidding me,” she muttered to herself.
Of all th...

Music Monday – Hold Back The River

I don’t know anything about this artists except that I like this song. I haven’t listened to his whole album, but I’m pretty sure one day soon I will.

Something about the lyrics get to me…

When was the last time you listened to a new song or artist and couldn’t get it out of your head? What are you listening to this week?

Music Monday – Blank Space

This is dark and emotional and twisted and dramatic and I love the story it tells…

I love how Taylor Swift has reinvented herself. She’s always been one to write her emotions and thoughts into her songs and I admir that about her. She might have been made fun of, teased, and maybe not taken seriously, but I like that she’s kept at it and created her own way through it all. She tries new things, new sounds, and she isn’t too big to talk to her fans, to communicate with them.

I like artists li...

Sunday Speeds

A lot happened in the romance book world this week. A lot of discussion of trust, ethical dilemmas, bloggers in author spaces, authors in blogger spaces (most notably when it’s the same person), conflicts of interest, etc… To be honest, I still don’t know how I feel other than…conflicted.

There’s a lot in this business that is open and honest and right there in your face that once upon a time readers weren’t privy to… And I count myself a reader. I always do. I always have. I was reading book...

Sweet Saturday

Lone Star Sweets has new covers created by TEZ Graphics. They’re beautiful. Bright. Light. And reflect the series.

I’ve flipped out the older covers and inserted all the new ones. I’ve uploaded all new information to Amazon, All Romance eBooks, and Barnes and Noble. Amazon seems to be taking the longest to get everything going in the right direction, but eventually, they’ll all be there and looking good.

This series is super fun for me. The characters are some of my favorites that I’ve writt...

Author Friday – Penny Watson

Apples_cover_small

Apples Should Be Red kindle_buylink

So, I talked with this author, Penny Watson, today and then, I read the blurb for her book and I laughed. And bought the book. That’s a sign, y’all. If you can make me laugh by the just the blurb, I’ll give your book a shot. There are other factors too such as originality. Curiousness. And samples.

Penny is a new author to me, but I love her openness and graciousness and sense of humor. And she writes for those who are older than the 20 something readers. Look her up, gr...
