I'll be at The Moat (the bar under the Wheeler Centre's main space) on Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne on September 8th between 6.15 and 7.15 pm if anyone wants to come and say hello. I'll be reading from The Astrologer's Daughter and there will be readings from other authors, too.

The Astrologer's Daughter

Just sharing the beyond-beautiful cover of my latest YA novel, "The Astrologer's Daughter" because I'm a huge fan of the photographer, Jessica Lia, who is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Look up her gallery, you will not be disappointed. She has an amazing eye.

If you loved "Mercy" and the crazy genre mash-up of YA mystery / thriller with touches of paranormal and romance in that, grab "The Astrologer's Daughter" which is available in (e)book and Kindle now everywhere, and is coming out in the US in July 2015.

Global Giveaway #1

** COMP CLOSED - congrats to Stephanie! A signed copy of Mercy is headed your way x **

People who have read and enjoyed my YA books will know that I love a flawed heroine who will meet the worst, head-on, with tenacity.

To celebrate the publication of "Afterlight" on June 24, 2015, this global giveaway (the first of two) is for true fans of the Mercy series: readers who have been willing to be challenged and engaged by Mercy's evolution across all four books.

The prize for the first correct answer to the following question? A signed and personalised copy of your favourite of the four Mercy titles, posted with love and gratitude, all the way from Oz.

Here's the question: only ONE of the Archangels has the power to transmogrify the celestial state of another Archangel. No other Archangel has this power and no other Archangel could have brought about the bargain made for Ryan. Which Archangel is it?

You've got a week! PM me if you think you know, and nominate your favourite title so that I can get it to you, if you win.

If you're not a fan but you know someone who is, let them know. And let them know there will be more to Mercy's story x

If you're keen on a complex mystery/thriller that celebrates female tenacity and is set in a fictional world that is ethnically and socio-economically diverse (just like ours is), it could be for you.

Look out for Global Giveaway #2 next week. X

The Astrologer's Daughter by Rebecca Lim
To celebrate the new print, ebook and Kindle editions of my crime/mystery/fantasy novel The Astrologer's Daughter, which is set in Melbourne's Chinatown but also at an intersection between our world and Mercy's world, I'm giving away a signed copy to the first two readers who can tell me which archangel from the Mercy series makes a cameo appearance in The Astrologer's Daughter? (hint: I've blogged about this before and their name starts with A)

I'll pick the first two readers who leave a comment with the correct name in it.

Competition closes 15 March 2019. I'll DM the winners for their postal details and happy reading!

An angel at my shoulder

Mercy is always a winged presence at my shoulder, a breath of fire, asking to walk this troubled world again.

For those who loved Wraith, I'm slowly pulling together the next adventure for you, and for me.

And I'm taking this quote from The Book of Enoch, Chapter XVII, as a starting point:

And I came to a river of fire in which the fire flows like water and discharges itself into the great sea towards the west. I saw the great rivers and came to the great river and to the great darkness, and went to the place where no flesh walks.

Who knows where the story will go? I can't wait to find out.

Love and best wishes to you in these trying times for all of humanity. Stay safe, stay well.
