Find Your Natural High
Did you know that we come hard wired with “happy hormones”? It’s true! Dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins* are all hormones that produce positive feelings and can be boosted by simple activities. We are built to experience a true natural high from pleasurable things like exercise, eating, laughing, affection, and sleeping. I believe we don’t need to create a false and fleeting high with...

No Bake Apple Pie Recipe
Here is a fun spin on good old Apple Pie! This recipe is full of fresh, raw fruits and nuts and will leave you feeling satisfied by the taste AND nutritional value. Pure Americana in each healthy bite, but the date crust gives it a major nutritious spin. For the Apple Filling: 1 cup raisins 8 to 9 organic apples (go for Gala if you want it sweet or Granny Smith if you want it a little tart) 2 Tbsp...

Dealing with Anger
Hi, Adam here. Before I had the outlet of sports to “burn off” some of my steam, I was for some reason or other an angry child that could go ballistic at any moment. Apparently I was quite the handful, or so I’ve been told by a certain loving mother. Aside from throwing the standard tantrums around nap time, I really let loose on my brothers. I remember one day, my youngest brother Nolan was...

Talking About Body Love
How about your identity? I’ve been thinking about our cultural obsession with the perfect body. Especially on Instagram. And magazines. All of the platforms. It’s invasive and it’s everywhere. Perfection in the physical is often overly celebrated, in my opinion. We’ve grown numb or used to it and many of us have adopted the idea of an ideal body. But there is sooooo much more to a happy...

Our Courtship
While filming my documentary Unstoppable, Aaron Lieber, our friend and the film’s director, captured some sweet moments of Adam and I sharing Our Love Story. Today I want to share some more of that conversation related to our courtship. It is kind of an old school term, but I really like the meaning and practice of it. Basically, it is dating with intentionality, even being geared toward marriage...

Salt Water
Not sure it’s quite that simple, but I appreciate the sentiment. I sure love the ocean and getting a sweat on, and sometimes I definitely need a good cry! Salt water may not cure everything, but it can definitely help. Moving your body and breaking a sweat is powerful on so many levels. There are the benefits of a good sweat that are notable and scientifically proven too: boosting energy...

Motherhood Update!
Micah is about 2.5 months old now. He’s out of this world beautiful and very healthy. We are thankful! He has also been sooo challenging and hardly sleeps on his own, so that has been stretching me a ton, and teaching Adam and I much patience and perseverance. I’m writing this as Micah is taking his longest ever nap by himself and the big boys are out and about with their cousins and auntie!
