Jan 23-Feb 5, 2024, welcome to the book tour for my novella, hosted by the publisher of my next three books, Celebrate Lit.
Reviewer: Debbie Curto has been a reviewer on Blogger since August 2012. Here’s her review:
“This is a short read. It is a sunshine and roses type of read. Mick’s life is full of heartaches. I did like the ending.”*I received a complimentary copy from the author and Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.

Worry Pearls, #2 of 4
We’re a week into 2025 and does it bring you joy or anxiety about the future?
Life is a mixed can of nuts, I typically say. Or a perpetual rollercoaster, if you enjoy a fair.
In early December, I attended my oldest granddaughter’s outdoor choir performance at a local park. The town gifted free face painting, balloon art, and rides to all children. As I stood in line with my two younger grands, the adults discussed how unbelievable it was to offer FREE rides to everyone. (We’d read the signs for the usual cost).
The younger grands were interested in the airplanes, ladybugs, carousel, and other rides with minimum risk but still fun. Most were only three to five feet above the grass.
My oldest grand was interested in the Tilt-a-Whirl, the gigantic slides, the swings with centrifugal force, the Roundup that pins you to the circle and spins while the floor disappears, and the big scare—The Hammer, or rocket, that swings riders upside down and back and forth. That one didn’t entice her, but her friends rode it and screamed.
Free fun and excitement awaited the kids no matter what they chose, but the fear about risks or dangers influenced what they rode.
Adults are the same. How do we choose to take risks with the choices that entice us this year? Making simple choices often tie up and stall us from enjoying what’s next the same as the scary complicated ones. Is our age a factor?
Remember Romans 8:28, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” (ESV)
Let’s pray for courage.

Worry Strings #1 of 4
Worries about the future tend to grow in my thoughts and I must battle to keep them from taking root. I wrote a series of memes about worries and anxiety to encourage myself to foster higher thoughts and break the squeezing grip of worry. I hope these memes help others as well!
What do you do with worries?

Our Merry Christmas 2023
My hubby and I work at home during our “retired” years. We aren’t retired, we’re just tired as we say. There’s been unusual happenings this past week. My son-in-law had surgery, my granddaughter caught Covid, and my sister is ill. I joked the Grinch stole our Christmas, when really he only delayed it. It’s okay, we rescheduled to New Year’s Day. I had prepped everything, and will leave it all that way. I went ahead with other tasks, and mailed 4 Christmas cards across the USA. Time somehow rushed past me with getting those accomplished. Were any of you fully prepped for Christmas, or has it been also been a blur for you? I quickly sent eCards to family and friends I missed other than those 4.
Rushing isn’t often a good idea. Timing is and always will be an uncontrollable factor in life. Why do I still struggle with that concept?
An hour after I chose the funny and cute eCard, filled in all the email addresses, and hit send, my artistic hubby created a personal and perfect photo to share. Sigh. I missed out on using this delightful image.
Then came a light bulb moment. I can share it with you! All my fabulous virtual friends haven’t been blessed with a humorous Christmas card from me yet. Social engagers are important as well, right? This one is for you, and God bless you all.

The Joys of Networking
It’s a busy time for authors to market their books in a hectic Christmas season. Yet, we do it anyway.
Since we work from home, I wonder if we all enjoy the interaction. I certainly do because it keeps me from isolation. We relocated to North Carolina from Californian in 2020 during Covid. Our friends are our family here and our neighbors. The way I feel attached to humanity daily is on social media.
I’m sharing a link to a Zoom interview posted on YouTube with Author Deena Adams. We had connected online, and we mutually enjoyed chatting onscreen for the first time. I hope you learn something interesting and new about us both.
Isn’t it astonishing how the worldwide web of tech communications has linked strangers together? And God is with us there as well.

The Stabilizers
Thinking through a Scripture verse, 1 Corinthians 13:13, (NIV) “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” This highlights what remains after all familiar things have disappeared.
I assume hope is as powerful as faith and love since it’s listed together. It’s a triangle of strength for us until one aspect goes wobbly. Imagine how it might affect our lives. What happens when something causes one or two of the three stabilizers to weaken?
As I write in my fictional world, it creates wounded, confused, and resilient characters named Mick, Orla, and Liam Muldoon. I’d be delighted for you to meet them in my books! The prequel, Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling: A Novella, is on sale on Amazon and Draft2Digital for other eReaders. Book 1 is releasing in July of 2024.
My hope is that you cheer them on to better and higher things as you read about their choices and experiences.

30 Days of Thankfulness and a Giveaway!
Today’s repost and bio are from Celebrate Lit Publshing’s author, S. E. Clancy. We’ve met through Inspire Christian Writers organization. We’ve connected again at Mount Hermon during Vision Christian’s Writer’s Conference, where we didn’t eat mayonnaise but laughed about silly things.
S. E. Clancy’s blog post addresses the simple, and often overlooked things to be thankful for.
Read her article for Day 11 of 30 here.
An adrenaline junkie, S.E. Clancy has skydived and worked as a 9-1-1 dispatcher prior to releasing stories in anthologies, publishing contemporary Biblical retellings including True and Mercy. Her young adult novel Victoria Grace the Jerkface (WhiteFire Publishing) is a semi-finalist for the 2021 ACFW Carol Awards. A bit of a sci-fi nerd, geek, and self-proclaimed dork, there isn’t much she won’t try at least once … unless it involves mayonnaise, because that stuff is just gross.
