Day 11-Blog Tour of Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling: a Novella, (Reviewed)
Jan 23-Feb 5, 2024, welcome to the blog tour of my eBook hosted by the publisher of my next three books, Celebrate Lit. We’re with Wendy Kaye today. Here’s a portion of her bio:
I’m a homemaker, retired home educator, and now caregiver to my mother. Some of my passions are: photography, reading, writing and blogging, as well as sewing, scrapbooking and rubber-stamping (if only I had the time!).
Here’s her review!
I enjoyed this story. I can’t imagine the heartache Mick went through, of losing wives and children, moving from Ireland to America, and what he faced as an Irish immigrant. I can resonate with his shaky faith.
If you’re interested in some of the history of the Irish immigrants, and a bit of Minnesota history, entwined with a bit of sweet romance, I recommend adding Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling to your list.
I received a complimentary copy through Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.

Jan 23-Feb 5, 2024, welcome to the blog tour of my eBook hosted by the publisher of my next three books, Celebrate Lit.
Here’s a fun author interview with Jodie Wolfe, who creates novels where hope and quirky meet. She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW), Romance Writers of America (RWA), and COMPEL Training. When not writing she enjoys spending time with her husband in Pennsylvania, reading, walking, and being Grammie.
Jodie’s Q: What is one thing you hope readers will take away from your story?
Answer: That although we may struggle with our understanding, faith, or hope in God, He doesn’t struggle with us! He’s long-suffering and patient while we learn and grow.

Abba’s Prayer Warrior Princess
Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling by author EV Sparrow is a gritty, melancholy, Christian historical novel. For me it was a bit dark and depressing. Set in New York and then Minnesota this is the story of Mick Muldoon.
Mick is a widower who has also lost his children. He leaves Ireland and hopes to make a new and better life in America. His life has been filled with tragedies and depression since the day he was born.
The author has a nice style of writing. Her story is easy to follow. I did find it to be slow in some sections and quick to end. The characters are defined and relatable. Some were like old friends while others villainous. I adored sweet Shauna.
The Christian message is woven throughout the book. Where there is darkness, God is light and always there. Messages of love, faith, hope, and second chances are strong in the story. (You can read more of her 3-star review on her site).

Day 8-Blog Tour of Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling: a Novella, (Author Interview)
Jan 23-Feb 5, 2024, welcome to the book tour for my novella, hosted by the publisher of my next three books, Celebrate Lit. Here’s an author interview:
Katie’s Q: If you could meet your characters in real life, what would you talk about?
Answer: They worry me. I want to help them grasp God’s love for them and hopefully keep them from destructive paths while they search for acceptance and belonging. I’d want to know more about their choices and tell them about why I made mine.
Katie is all about Christian Fiction & Christian Living! Reviews of upcoming authors, giveaways, and contests. Enjoy! She graciously did an author interview for me on her blog. Katie has been on Blogger since February 2015, and is also Celebrate Lit Blogger.

Day 7-Blog Tour of Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling: a Novella, (Reviewed)
Jan 23-Feb 5, 2024, welcome to the book tour for my novella, hosted by the publisher of my next three books, Celebrate Lit. Meet Amy C. on Blogger since March 2012. I am an avid reader that read just about any genre but prefer historical fiction the most. I read thirty books or more every month. I am a mother of a precious little girl and her active younger brother. I enjoy doing variety of needle arts and crafts, including cross stitching, quilting, and, especially, locker hooking.
I found Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling by new to me author, E V Sparrow, a wonderful story of faith and love. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Shauna and Mick’s tale. I was captivated by this plot right from the start and did not want to put it down until the end. It was a pleasure to take this journey with the two and felt like I was right there with them along the way. Overall, a great read. I loved it. (Amy C.)

Day 6-Blog Tour of Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling: a Novella, (Reviewed)
Jeannine’s 5 Star review:
Heartache and HopeE.V. Sparrow’s “Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling” is a touching story that explores the struggles of Mick Muldoon, a widower looking for a fresh start in America, and Shauna McGann, a young woman determined to help him despite her own secrets. As someone new to Sparrow’s books, I was quickly drawn into the emotional journey of these characters.
Mick Muldoon’s story begins with heartbreak and hope for a better life in America. But things don’t go as planned, and Sparrow skillfully describes Mick’s feelings of sadness and uncertainty. You can really feel Mick’s emotions and cheer for him to find happiness.
Shauna McGann adds a twist to the tale with her unwavering love for Mick. Even though others might be put off by his past and limp, Shauna sees past it all. The story gets even more interesting as Shauna faces her own struggles and secrets. You’ll be on the edge of your seat, wondering if Mick and Shauna can overcome their challenges.
What makes Sparrow’s storytelling special is how she talks about big ideas like faith and hope in a way that’s easy to understand. The characters feel relatable.
E.V. Sparrow’s writing was easy to follow. Sparrow pays attention to the little details and creates characters that feel like people you might know.
In this prelude to the Muldoon’s Misfortunes series, Sparrow sets the stage for a bigger story about people facing tough times but still trying to be happy. The mix of history, emotions, and a bit of mystery makes “Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling” a book I could not put down. It’s not just a story; it’s an adventure full of sad moments, hopeful times, and the strength of people trying to make their lives better. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!

Day 5-Blog Tour of Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling: a Novella, (Author Interview)
Jan 23-Feb 5, 2024, welcome to the book tour for my novella, hosted by the publisher of my next three books, Celebrate Lit. Today is an author interview on Marguerite Martin Gray’s blog: Entertain. Encourage. Educate. She is the author of the Revolutionary Faith series—Hold Me Close, Surround Me, Bring Me Near, Draw Me to Your Side, and Wait for Me—and the Gardens in Time series—Labor of Love. She enjoys studying history and writing fiction.
Marguerite’s Q: What does your family think of your writing?
Answer: They are supportive and encouraging. My daughter is does research for me, my niece did some research for Book 1, and the rest seem proud of having an author in our family. We are all booklovers and readers. When I signed a 3-book contract with Celebrate Lit, my sister said, “How did this happen?” It made me laugh. I think many readers might be surprised at how the publication industry works. I was!

Her delightful five star review posted on Goodreads:
As much as I love history, the tragedies and depressing circumstances along life’s journey year ago spur me to thankfulness for modern conveniences. Yet having survived a pandemic, I better understand the questions of concern and care. The hero struggles with the presence of Mister Death, seeing him in every difficult situation. He labels him and calls him out. The image is real to him.
Light and darkness filter through our lives, but so does a powerful God, guiding and comforting us along the way. Once we grab hold of His love, Mister Death can disappear, leaving love and compassion to rule even during the tragic times.
Bravo, EV

Day 3-Blog Tour of Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling: a Novella, (Reviewed).
Jan 23-Feb 5, 2024, welcome to the book tour for my novella, hosted by the publisher of my next three books, Celebrate Lit. Today, we are on Deana’s Blog with the tagline: Books, authors, and multiple genres. To promote, encourage, and discover authors for the book-aholic in all of us. Deana is a reviewer on Blogger since April 2015.
Here’s Deana’s 4 star review:
Mick has suffered several losses and travels to America to start over. Being from Ireland he will face challenges but I admired his determination. He has a limp that at times causes other to think he is not capable of working. How easy it is for people to judge him when they don’t take the time to get to know someone. It was sad that Mick had lost two wives and several children at such a young age. Mick is struggling with finding work and has attracted the attention of what I would call a bully. This man is someone to be careful around as rumors about him are not good.
Shauna has caught Mick’s eye and thinks perhaps he may ask permission to court her. She has kept a dark secret that she shares with Mick as they begin their relationship. Even though Mick promised he would not tell, he knew he had to do something before a tragedy occurred.
I enjoyed reading how Mick and Shauna became closer and began a commitment to each other. Mick is worried when his wife becomes pregnant. Will the same thing happen to this baby as his others? He has this darkness around him that tries to get him to not believe in God. There is much tragedy in the story but the author illustrates how God is always there. As Mick continues to feel like something is bringing death around him, his wife continues to speak to him about God.
I liked the story and how we got a bit of history which I enjoyed. We witness sadness, loss and how a man comes to faith. It is a quick read with characters that are flawed. I was a little sad about the loss that continued for Mick and Shauna. In the end the author brings happiness and renewed faith that shines a light where darkness use to be.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Day 2-Blog Tour of Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling: a Novella (Author Interview)
Jan 23-Feb 5, 2024, welcome to the book tour for my eBook novella, hosted by the publisher of my next three books, Celebrate Lit. Today, we’re on the blog tour with Gina. When she’s not working on her next book, Gina loves to watch cheesy romance movies, cook dinner for her family, and play the piano and organ and sing for worship services at her church. She loves to read Christian fiction and has a never-ending “to be read” pile.
Sample:
Q by Gina: What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?
Answer: I write my endings first. I think it’s because I’ve always read the last page of books before I buy them! It also helps to know my ending as a goal for the story. If I can’t decide on the story wrap up, I don’t know what events to add for the reader’s interest.
