Quick Kink One – Kay Jaybee

Quick Kink One delivers exactly what it says on the tin. It's a single author anthology, full of short erotic stories. This type of book can either be fantastic or terrible, dependent on whether you like the author's writing or not. Luckily for me, I love Kay Jaybee's writing style and so found this eBook fab fun and whizzed through it in a couple of days.

It contains twelve mucky stories. They're all wildly different and very imaginative. I've certainly never thought of dictionaries as being so erotic before – let's just say that Kay has completely changed my perception! The stories cover straight couples, lesbians and bisexuals. There's 'straightforward' sex, bondage thrown in, a bit of voyeurism and some serious kink.

What's great though is that there's nothing that's so 'out there' or niche that it would turn someone off. It's all lighthearted naughty fun and will get you feeling frisky in the time it would take for the cover model to kick off that sexy red shoe. Definitely recommended!

Totty Tuesday: Prince William

16th November 2010 – Well, today's Totty Tuesday was a bit of a no-brainer, wasn't it? Following the engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton, which was announced today, I thought it would be nice to celebrate the occasion by posting him as this week's totty. I have to say I'm upset at the news, having lusted after the second in line to the throne for some years.

But anyhoo, regardless of whether they'll actually go through with it, or whether it'll last (sorry, but the recycled engagement ring and Wills' having to "find the motivation" to propose doesn't bode well), here's a yummy picture for those of you who also see the select charms of this member of Britain's Royal Family. Granted, he's no Jared Padalecki, but I'm a total sucker for a posh accent and a uniform; and well – he's got both! Not sure about the wicked stepmother, but hey – you can't have everything, can you?

I also read a news piece which said that Kate Middleton finds Wills' RAF uniform really sexy – wonder if she'll buy a copy of Uniform Behaviour when it's available? Maybe I should send her a review copy. Anyone know her publicist?

Storm Born – Richelle Mead

As a huge fan of everything I've read so far by Richelle Mead (and on finishing this book, I've now read everything by her that's  currently available in the UK), I knew exactly what to expect from Storm Born. It's Book One in Mead's Dark Swan series – and because I received Book Two some time ago I actually read these in the wrong order. However, the way they're written means it doesn't really  matter. These books work well as standalone novels too, though you'll inevitably want to read them all once you start.

Storm Born introduces us to Eugenie Markham, a powerful shaman. She banishes spirits, fey and similar creatures that stray into the mortal world back into their own. She's good at her job, and this is just as well as something weird is going on – more weird than usual, that is. The Otherworldly creatures that invade her everyday life start calling her by her real name. Up until now, she's been known as Odile to those from the Otherworld – hence her Dark Swan title. Her real name being 'out there' can't be a good thing, and soon Eugenie finds out just how bad this particular piece of news is. It leads to a crazy adventure in the Otherworld which results in her finding out some unpleasant truths from her past which affect her future, in a big way.

This is an excellent read. Eugenie Markham is an excellent character. She's strong, smart and sassy, and her quips had me laughing on more than one occasion. Richelle Mead has created a brilliant read here by bringing to life believable characters as well as a fascinating world full of supernatural possibilities. I whizzed through this book as the style is so easy to read and the plot so edge-of-your-seat exciting. Good stuff. I'd recommend this to any supernatural fan.

Alfresco Loving – Various

I probably chose the wrong time of year to read this eBook, given it's got a couple frolicking in the sun and is full of outdoorsy stories. On the other hand, what better way to bring sunshine to a grim autumn day?

Containing stories from five erotic authors, this book promises variety of the smuttiest kind. And it certainly delivered.

Containing witchy sex, surfer smut, mermaid mating, threesome titillation and dangerous dalliances, Alfresco Loving is a very hot read. I didn't enjoy all of the stories equally, but they were all brilliantly written and very erotic. My favourite of the five was Roxanne Rhoads' story Welcome Spring, a tale about a witch taking part in a ritual to welcome the beginning of spring. It starts off being a little erotic, and ends up being extremely saucy! I also really enjoyed Viva Jones' story about a wealthy woman staying in her foreign villa. It had a different take on what could have been a cliched situation and was damn sexy.

Overall, though, this is a fab read and worth picking up, whatever you're into.

Control – Charlotte Stein

Control is Charlotte Stein's second book. The first, The Things That Make Me Give In, was published by the late great Black Lace – and it was fooking awesome, as you can see by reading this review. TTTMMGI was a short story collection, and Control is a full on erotic novel. And bloody hot it is, too.

It tells the story of Madison Morris, a bookshop owner. But it's not just any bookshop – oh no – it's a smutty bookshop. Called Wicked Words (as a nod to Black Lace). I'm totally gutted that the place doesn't really exist. I think Ms. Stein should open it, just for me. But anyhoo – onto the story.

Madison needs an assistant. She starts the interview process and one particular guy, Andy, stands out. Not because he shows any particular expertise or suitability for the job, but because he gives good head and bangs Madison over the kitchen table. Yes, it starts off like that – no messing about, straight into the action. And it doesn't let up, either.

While Andy doesn't get the job, he's still sniffing around Madison and his arrogance pushes her buttons. Meanwhile, she's given quiet, shy Gabriel the job as her assistant, and he's perfect. In every way, actually. Soon, Madison is torn between the two men. Andy likes to take control of sexual situations, whereas Gabe likes to relinquish control and be humiliated. Madison's happy to play the game with both boys – but in the midst of all the kink and sexy threesomes – is she losing control herself?

I can summarise this book in one word – awesome. It has Stein's mark all over it – it's easy to read, flows well, is funny in places and of course is damn sexy. To me, it feels like a different take on threesomes and submission and domination games. It's like all three of those things – but with heart. There are feelings involved as well as body parts and this is what makes this book such a fabulous read. It's got a brilliant storyline as well as erotic sex scenes, and I recommend it to any fan of contemporary erotica.

Stopping Point – Victoria Blisse

Stopping Point is the second title in Victoria Blisse's Point Vamp series. I loved the first one, so naturally, I wanted to read this one.

The second book tells the story of Josh, a young man who's been turned into a vampire, but he doesn't quite know it yet. He's gone off normal food and all his friends smell like snacks, but he can't work out why. However, after an encounter with a scary yet sexy woman on the way home from work, things start to make sense.

Naive, and not the sharpest tool in the box, Josh finally works out what's going on and immediately turns his two best friends into vampires without their consent, figuring they'll be best mates forever.

Josh is also finding out more about the crazy woman that turned him – Cara. She's clearly quite unhinged, but the more Josh gets to know her, the more he realises that there's good reason for her being damaged. He also realises that she's damn sexy…

The plot develops as Josh and Cara get to know each other better, Josh's friends settle into their vampire life, and the three boys discover The Point, the vampire club known for it's ten-second sucking rule.

Stopping Point is full of sexual tension, action and humour. It's another fab addition to the series and I'll be looking forward to the next one!

ANOTHER Fab Review for The Great Outdoors!

The Great OutdoorsWell, what an exciting weekend! I've had a couple of fantastic pre-release reviews of Uniform Behaviour (more on that closer to the time), AND after stalking my Amazon sales stats for The Great Outdoors, I spotted another review….

This review came from "Avid book reader":

Titillating and blatantly steamy, the author has a bold voice and an intimate understanding of what makes the pulse tick and the juices flow in the erotica genre. *Fans self.* The only reason I haven't given this a full five stars is because it's two short works and I'm greedy and wanted more time with those characters. The Great Outdoors is an uber-hot combo read and I'm looking forward to longer work from this author.

So, that's just put the cherry on the top of my weekend – so thank you to my pre-release readers, you know who you are. And also many thanks to "Avid book reader", whoever you are.

If this cool review has made you want a copy of The Great Outdoors for yourself, then check out this page to see where you can grab a copy.

The Initiation of Ms Holly – K D Grace

The Initiation of Ms Holly is a book that grabs you from the very beginning. Sex on a train with a complete stranger – who wouldn't be interested?! But for the main protagonist of the novel, Rita, the sexy encounter is just the beginning of a long and arduous journey to her ultimate goal: owning the mind and body of the man that seduced her on the train.

It seems that Edward is no ordinary man. Their first date takes place at The Mount, a secretive and exclusive club in London. Rita soon discovers that at least some of the rumours are true – the place is a sex club of sorts. She's blindfolded soon after arrival at the club and told that she can't see Edward's face until she has completed a series of tasks. Confused at first, Rita is soon seduced – literally – into wanting to complete her initiation into The Mount. During the initiation she can have as much sex as she likes – just not with Edward. So her reward for completion is two-fold; she will get to see her one-time lover's face, and also make him her lover as many times as she likes!

As you'd expect, Rita's initiation is far from simple. There are many strange and difficult tasks to undertake, and not all of the members of The Mount's council want her to succeed. Queen bitch Vivienne certainly doesn't. But it seems there's more to her than meets the eye. She appears  to be obsessed with Edward and has some strange hold over him – which makes Rita all the more determined to do what's expected of her and give Vivienne something to bitch about.

I'm not saying anything else as I don't want to give anything away – but rest assured this book is absolutely packed full of wild and steamy encounters. The multitude of characters can be hard to keep track of at times, but it's definitely worth keeping your head as you follow the book through to its climactic ending and unearth the deepest, darkest secrets of The Mount and its members.
