Kindle Countdown Deal
Starting tomorrow, 7 November, I am trying the new Kindle Countdown feature for my book "The Many Wonders of Costa Contente."
This means that it goes on sale for .99, - stays at that price for two days, then goes up to $1.99 for another two days.
I have no idea if this will result in any sales. I am actually most interested in reviews. It's a very special book to me and having it sit on Amazon pages with no feedback is rather frustrating.
The story takes place in South America in the mid-70's, a place and time I know well from my days as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Brazil. The images, characters, encounters, et al, are based on my memories and experiences. (with just a wee bit of the magical thrown in.)

Goodreads self-serving ads update
About a year ago, I tried out the Goodreads promote-yourself ads. It costs as little or as much as you want, which meant it was easy enough to give it a try.
Although a little bit confusing when it came to setting the targeting of my books, the folks at Goodreads were always available to help me understand the process.
I think my first round of advertising resulted in a few sales.
Although I ran 2 free promotions of my new book, "The Many Wonders of Costa Contente", and quite a few people downloaded copies, I hadn't gotten any reviews. Time to try the ad thing again.
This time I signed up to advertise three of my books. The Many Wonders of Costa Contente
That was about a week ago. "Murder, Jaz, & Tel Aviv", and "The Curse Breaker of Cairo", have almost run out of advertising funds. (Based on how many times people click on your ad.) "Costa Contente" has not received 1 click.
Maybe it's because it doesn't fit into a genre like mystery or paranormal romance.
It's listed as 'literary fiction'- could that be the problem?
As many fellow authors know, it is quite frustrating to finish and then publish a book and then see it floating around cyberspace just waiting for a reader to not only grab a copy, but to read it.
I have resorted to consulting the tarot cards to figure out what might be going on and what I can do to get my work noticed.
