Industry Conferences: A Gold Mine of Social Media Connections

post thumbnail

Industry conferences are a great way to learn, connect and socialize with people associated with your industry.  Instead of letting a conference be a one-time event, use social media to create lasting engagements and connections.

Turn that conference into a virtual gold mine that will continue to pay dividends long after you’ve returned home.

Social Media at Industry Conferences

Conference Pro Tip #1: Prepare in Advance

As soon as you register for the conference, you need to start working on your engagement plan. You should already be thinking about how to use the conference as a business-building tool.

Check your business card. Your business card may be the first link to your company. Make sure that the card reflects your company’s identity and is part of a comprehensive branding structure including colors, logos, themes, etc. that will help to introduce your business to others. In addition, make sure that all of your contact information is correct and current.  Include social media identities such as your Facebook address, Twitter name or LinkedIn profile.
Do your research. Find out if there is a hashtag for the event itself. Develop a list of speaker profiles, workshop titles, what conference keywords may be important or other pieces of information that may be useful to make connections later.
Get a head start. If possible, be on location at the conference a day or so early. Scout out good places to eat, convenient parking lots, and where cab or public transportation pickup locations are. If you discover ‘insider secrets’ such as the location of a seldom used elevator or bonus features, such as the complimentary breakfast at the conference, share your discoveries. Publicize these pieces of information with the conference tag so other people will begin to see you as a valuable resource.
Make your conference schedule. Look for interesting break-out sessions in the conference schedule and publicize the ones you’ll be attending. Tag the speaker and use the event hashtag, and ask who else may be attending.  Make a note of anyone who indicates they’ll be there – then be sure to look for them at the event so you can meet them in person.

Conference Pro Tip #2: Get Your Accounts Ready

Make sure your social media accounts are ready to receive more traffic. Optimize your accounts to better serve new visitors.

Do your images support your overall branding efforts? Ensure visitors they’ve arrived in the right spot.

Make sure your bio includes a link to your business’s website and any other online real estate you want to promote. Use your social media accounts to drive traffic and increase leads.

Monica Eaton-Cardone is a noted thought leader and highly-sought-after conference speaker. After attending just a few noteworthy industry conferences and making a conscious effort to increase social media activity, she was able to increase social media followers and drive more traffic to her site.

Example of Social Media Traffic

Conference Pro Tip #3: Identify Your Targets

There are three target groups for every conference: those who are attending the conference, those who are not attending the conference and influencers who are at the conference.

To successfully maximize the conference social media connections, make sure that your efforts address all three target groups. Provide relevant information for each group and you can double (or triple) your conference ROI.

Conference Pro Tip #4: Meet and Greet, then Tweet

One of the best features of industry conferences is the large number of potential contacts gathered in one location. As you interact with people at the conference, be sure to exchange business cards. Make notes on the card as needed to help you identify them later.

If you have a booth at the event, take pictures of people who visit your booth and post signs informing attendees where to find your business on social media. (‘Like us on Facebook for conference pictures and updates!’)  Take more pictures than you think you will need! You can always delete pictures that are blurry or unnecessary, but you can’t use pictures you don’t have.

For extra fun, set up a selfie station in your booth with props for attendees to use and ask to be tagged in any pictures they may take.  Post the pictures you take and tag individuals with a simple, “Thanks for stopping by our booth!” message.

Conference Pro Tip #5: Live the Conference Online

A great way to connect with people who may not be in attendance is to post live updates during the conference.

From the fast and easy (post quotes from general sessions) to the more complex (write a blog post summary of a break-out session), regular updates with real-time information can help keep people connected.

For maximum effect, try to post summaries quickly, within 30 minutes of a session. Followers will rely on you as a trusted resource and appreciate the timely information.

Conference Live Tweet

Conference Pro Tip #6: Use Data Effectively

Conferences are usually jammed with facts and figures. Use these tidbits of information to your advantage. Twitter reports that tweets containing a number get an 18% boost over tweets that don’t.

Similarly, postings that contain pictures are 35% more likely to engage with viewers than just text alone.  Video can be another effective element to gain social media attention.  A 90-second video selfie of “Guess what I just learned?” is a simple and fast way to convey information about the conference.

Try combinations: a picture of the conference hall with a quote or relevant statistic, a video sharing the great hole-in-the-wall restaurant you found…the possibilities are endless.

Conference Pro Tip #7: Wrap Things Up

Summarize the conference with postings about your overall thoughts, things you learned or new ideas you’re excited to try.  Ask others to share things they may have picked up during the conference or to highlight special moments.

Be sure to include the appropriate conference tags. If you’re lucky, you might get retweeted, attracting even more attention to your brand. Check out the extra publicity MediaMath got from ad:tech.

Social Media Conference Roundup

Conference Pro Tip #7: Follow Up

Now that you’ve increased your social media connections, continue to stay engaged with your new friends and followers.  Use e-newsletters, postings and other updates to keep the door of communication open for the future.

Evaluate your ROI for the conference.  Did you…

Generate new leads?
Identify potential partners or investors?
Acquire new followers on social media?
Receive professional development credits?
Have media coverage?

All of these areas can ultimately pay for the conference, making the time and effort to attend well worth it.

The next time you get a flyer in the mail about an upcoming conference, start thinking about how you can use that conference as more than a few days away from the office.

By maximizing the reach of social media, one conference can work around the clock to increase business and generate leads.

What to Say When Things Start Getting Serious…

post thumbnail

What to Say When Things Start Getting Serious…

Guess we should get this over with. Samsung and Apple have been in a patent battle for the past five years. Apple first sued the smartphone rival in April 2011 for copying the look of their iPhone. Since then the two have been at battle in court. Last week Samsung agreed to pay Apple $548 million. But Samsung isn’t going to let it go over that easily. They might seek reimbursement from Apple depending on future patent rulings. Sigh, it’ll never end. (Source Wall Street Journal)

#YouAintNoMuslimBruv

This hashtag is London’s official response to a tragic potential terrorist incident that took place on Saturday. Video footage of police arresting the suspect captured a bystander yelling “You ain’t no Muslim, bruv” at the suspect. “Bruv” is London slang comparable to “bro”.  Shortly after the video started spreading, people went to Twitter to tweet about what happened using #YouAintNoMuslimBruv which began trending worldwide. The power of a #hashtag. (Source The New York Times)

Put This on Your Christmas List

GoPro’s Hero4 session camera launched at a hefty $399 price tag. Then it dropped to $349 and people still didn’t want to buy it. So, GoPro dropped it to $199. If you’re looking for a more affordable way to record your action sports, this might be the way to go pro, bro. (Source Engadget)

5 Reasons Your Content Marketing Must Focus on Trust, not Traffic

post thumbnail

slider trust - not trafficWhen you are about to make a major purchase, let’s say a car, and you are considering makes and models that you have never owned before, how do you go about making a decision? Of course, you test drive several, and you read consumer reports. But chances are pretty great that you talk to a neighbor, a friend or a colleague who has owned or currently owns cars you are considering. It may even be that you have only looked at cars that these people have recommended.

Why? Because you trust their opinions. Trust drives a lot of our purchasing decisions, in fact, and that is why building trust in your brand is more important than anything else you do.

Here are 5 reasons why trust is critical to your bottom line.

 1. Most People Behave as You Do – They Share Only What They Trust

SharingWhy do you share content? Chances are you do so because of one of the following reasons:

You found it very useful, and you think your communities will find it useful too. You want to be helpful.
You found it humorous, entertaining, and/or inspiring, and you want others to have a “pick-me-up.”
It answered a question or solved a problem you have had, and you want others to have the answer or solution too.

As you can see, you are not really being selfish when you share content (well, maybe just a little if you are trying to get credit for the share). You want others to have the benefits you have from the content. Most everyone else acts just like you do, and they share for the same reasons.

On the other hand, there is a lot of content that you do not share. Some of that content might be offensive or go against your values and beliefs. But some of that content you don’t trust, and you won’t share it until you have checked it out.

Most everyone else acts just like you do, and they share for the same reasons. They also refrain from sharing, if there is content they don’t trust.

As a content marketer, you need to remember this. Rather than gauge your success by traffic to your site, gauge your success by number of shares you receive. When those are substantial, you will know that you have become a trusted expert and that your brand is trusted as well.

 2.      Millennials Must Trust Before They Buy

The millennial generation was responsible for about $5 billion in online sales in 2014, and, when we get the stats for 2015, that number will have undoubtedly risen. And here’s the thing about millennials:

They rely on each other for recommendations when they are ready to make a purchase.
If trust in a business has been lost, or if an experience with a business has been unsatisfactory, they will inform their communities of this. If you lose trust, you will have a terrible time regaining it, if ever.

 3.      People Who Trust You Stay With You

Traffic to your site is only a measure of how many “hits” you have received. And most of those “hits” are pretty fleeting. They don’t stick around if they can’t find something worthwhile in your content. They don’t get into the sales funnel nor do their communities.

The first step in building trust is creating content that solves their problems and answers their questions. And if your content continually does that, you have a reader who does stick around and shares in order to be helpful to others with the same problems and pain points. When those continually growing reading audience then has need of the product or service you offer, you will be the choice.

 4.      Trust Means You Get an Email Address

more shares - more emailsPart of any content marketing strategy has to be building an email list. This is how you continue to communicate personally with your audience, other than through conversations on your blog and social media sites.

You may have gated content on your site which requires and email address to access. If people trust you and your brand, they will provide that email address. If they see it only as a means for you get that email address so you can engage in “hard” sales tactics, then they will stop short of providing it.

If, however, a reader gets an email from you, and you are providing great useful information, that trust is gradually built up and so are the shares.

 5.      Trust Means You Remain Competitive in a Sea of Content Marketing

There is just so much content floating around, that people become overwhelmed with social media, especially when it is businesses that are posting on their walls or sending them emails or re-targeting them everywhere they go.

If you have taken the time to build trust among your readers and followers, then they are far more likely to delete the posts and emails that are flying at them from a competitor. If you are selling clothing that they like, and their experiences with you have all been good, they will have no desire to comparison shop.

You can have numerous “likes” and comments. And that is good because you know that people are reading your content. But the real test of your content is the number of “shares.” Shares mean trust and larger communities. And larger communities mean more sales.

7 Sales Prospecting Techniques Probably You’ve Never Tried

post thumbnail

These days finding the right audience to connect your product with is easier than ever, but there might be some sales prospecting techniques that you’ve overlooked because of how obvious they are.

If you’re looking to give your sales a boost, consider one of these techniques.

Get in front of the camera

These days making a video can be the best way to ensure that audiences engage with your content. Less and less email readers are clicking on links, and videos allow potential customers to get to know the face behind the company’s products or services they are considering. Plus, if your videos are able to effectively combine humor and professionalism, you may even go viral within your industry.

Have a community

Whether you use social media or prefer face-to-face connections, make sure you have a community of people who serve the same audience that you do. This can be a quick way to build referrals between businesses, and will also allow you to learn from others about how they’ve dealt with this market before (and vice versa). Not to mention, by grouping customer contacts, everyone benefits from a larger list.

Consult, don’t sell

Long gone are the days of the hard sell, so your best bet when prospecting for new sales is to act like a consultant rather than a salesperson. This can mean posting content that is meaningful to your audience, making you a source of information, but it should also mean that each time you connect with a potential customer, rather than trying to sell them what you have, see what their needs are and then target your pitch to helping them solve problems.

Become a familiar face

Sometimes you may be able to gain a bunch of connects through social media based on your company’s reputation or your immediate network, but in most cases, when you’re approaching a new customer it is basically a cold call (or email). To better increase your chance of getting a response, build up a history of connecting with that person or company on a social media site. Share and like content, and they’ll already know your name when you contact them.

Get on LinkedIn

If you are not already on LinkedIn, now is the time. This platform has become hugely successful in recent years as a great way to target and connect with a particular sales demographic. Furthermore, they can allow you to host a blog and post content and updates, so that you’ll be able to continue to engage with new customers easily.

Encourage referrals

Whether through social media or in-person, referrals are the best way to get someone interested in your product or service. There are a number of ways to encourage referrals. First of all, you can straight-up offer a gift or discount if someone refers you to a new client, which will encourage people to share the word. If your direct network is providing you with customers, be sure to personally thank every source.

Listen

When a potential customer shuts you down off the bat, don’t give in. There is no need to be aggressive, but rather listen to what the customer is saying, and help him or her understand what you are your product can do that is different. At the same time, if you are getting consistent negative responses, you will be able to better tailor your pitch with each try, until you find what works.

How Google monitors every move you make?

post thumbnail

It appears that in the modern age of the Internet, privacy is just not a possibility. You may think it’s a good idea to protect all of your data in Google Drive – all of your pictures, videos and sensitive documents – until you comprehend that you aren’t the only one who has access to them. Your data may be secure from everybody else but it is not safe from one tech giant: Google. Google Inc. spies on all of your cyber activities to judge you and form a profile of you to, maybe, “facilitate” your browsing experience. Bigoted? Maybe. But unfortunately for you, this tech giant is one that you just can’t do without. Your searching experience cannot be complete without google, for sure.

Here are only a few of the ways Google Inc. spies on your data without you ever knowing:

1.      Email Accounts

The emails you give-and-take via your Gmail account are all simply accessible for Google. The revisions explicitly state that Google’s system scans the content of emails stored on Google’s servers as well as those being sent and received by any Google email account, a practice that has seen the search company face criticism from privacy action groups and lawsuits from the education sector. All users of email must necessarily expect that their emails will be subject to automated processing and that’s what google approved of doing. Your emails are not only exposed to you.

2.      Search Terms

Google knows whatever you search for in Google search box. That’s immensely valuable information, not just for advertisers (which is why Google wants to collect it), but also — potentially — for hackers and identity thieves. It has a record of the times you’ve looked up hangover cures and searched weird symptoms to perform a self diagnosis. It knows that you looked up the address to the hospital to visit a loved one and it knows that you didn’t know the address to the funeral home a week later.

3.      Websites Visited

So, in case you didn’t know let me tell you that google has got a complete record of the websites you’ve been visiting from day one. This is also not hidden from google.

4.      Android Device

Your Android device is leaking all of your data to Google as you breathe. It is surely a gateway for google to know all about you. Google could be tracking and recording your every location on your Android device, and you may not even know it

5.      Web Apps

Google judges you by the kind of web apps you use, for what purposes and for how long. So, yes, that’s also not limited to you only.

6.      Mobile Apps

Like web apps, your mobile apps are helping Google form a profile about you based on the choices you make. Shortly, google is judging you by every possible means.

7.      Social Media Accounts

Google checks out every activity of yours on all of your social media accounts – Google+, Facebook, Twitter, everything. Nothing you post, is out of sight of this tech giant i.e. Google.

8.      Online Shopping History

Google also has information about everything you purchase online – and is “kind” enough to send you ads of similar products on each website you visit

9.      Uploads and Downloads

You most probably use Google Chrome as a web browser. Here’s something to it as well. Everything you upload to or download from Google Chrome is within Google’s grip. Its not gonna spare you even from that. Simply put, there are very few corners of modern life that Google doesn’t touch.

All I Want For Christmas is a Lifetime of Netflix

post thumbnail

All I Want For Christmas is a Lifetime of Netflix

Well you might get your wish. Dark Web marketplaces are allowing people to buy access to many online streaming services (Think – Netflix, HBO Go, Spotify) for as low as $0.50. The Dark Web marketplaces can only be accessed using TOR, a special internet browser that hides your IP address. So that lifetime of Netflix might not be that easy to get. (Source Business Insider)

Quote of the Day: “Yahoo Messenger Wants You Back.”

#TBT to Yahoo Messenger. The chat service first released in 1998 is revamping in an effort to compete with chat services like WhatsApp, GChat, etc. Yesterday, Yahoo released a new, revamped, fresh version that is available on the Web, Yahoo email service, iPhones and Androids. Some pro’s to Yahoo Messenger are GIF’s easily accessible to send and the ability to “like” individual messages. How will Yahoo Messenger do in a world of other chat services is the question. (Source CNET)

In case you missed it…

T-Mobile wants you. In order to try and get AT&T customers to join their team, T-Mobile is offering the ex-AT&T customers a 128GB iPhone for the cost of a 16GB iPhone. That’s a $200 difference which isn’t too shabby. The offer starts today and lasts until December 13th so decide quickly AT&T users. (Source Engadget)

Toy Story Part 4: When Toys Attack

post thumbnail

Toy Story Part 4: When Toys Attack

New connected toys are hitting the market faster than we can keep up. One of the biggest debuts comes from Mattel with Hello Barbie. As one of the first connected dolls, Hello Barbie acts similar to Siri, telling jokes, keeping conversation, and sharing stories. The scary part is she’s proven to be vulnerable to hacking. Mattel has partnered with ToyTalk to incorporate privacy into the pint-sized doll and is actively paying researchers to find flaws. However with a recent breach of nearly 11 million accounts tied to the toy Learning Lodge it’s hard to say whether you want your toddler being susceptible to hackers. Security experts have pinged two big mistakes on connected toys 1. They store too much information for far too long. 2. Companies are  not taking enough precautionary steps to protect the information. (Source MSN)

Heart Emoji

2015 is coming to a close and with it marks all the trends of the year. So what does social media say about hashtags? Well for the third year in a row #Love tops the list as the most used hashtag. #LoveWins will most likely hit the list being used 6.2 million times following the Supreme Court’s gay marriage ruling in late June. Though Twitter has yet to post  final stats for the year we can only hope to see more #positive info! Stay golden ponyboy. (Source CNN)

You’re a Showstopper

This should come to no surprise but we’re spending 54% of our time within apps on our smartphones. Since we’re in the mood of giving we’ve found a list of the most productive apps you should be using to make yourself a rockstar. #1 In Time which is an alarm that wakes you up according to how long it will take you to arrive at your destination by analyzing the current traffic state. Wowza. #2 Headspace if you’re time crunched, this app will help you learn how to meditate in only 10 short minutes. Don’t Be Remote with Better Entertainment Options

post thumbnail

What are using social media for these days?

For some folks, social media is a personal vehicle, chock-full of entertainment. Others, meantime, use it for work-related chores or even the job hunt itself. Still others turn to social networking when it comes to finding the best deals on products and services.

No matter what you use it for, make sure that you take advantage of all social media has to offer, especially helping you find better deals on needs in your life.

Social Media is Great Research Tool

One of the many benefits of using social media is it can ultimately save you money on items you likely want or need for daily living.

Among the items that you can research on social media:

Real estate
Vehicles
Furniture
Technology for the home or office
Travel
Medical needs
Entertainment

When it comes to one’s entertainment needs, social media can be beneficial in so many manners.

Among the ways to use social media for bettering your entertainment needs:

Company sites – It is highly uncommon for companies in the entertainment arena (especially the bigger ones) to not have Twitter, Facebook, Instagram pages in today’s world. Whether you are looking for satellite options such as DIRECT TV packages or your local cable outlet’s choices, you should visit company social networking pages. They can be chock-full of information, some of which can include offering special deals. Also look to YouTube to see if the entertainment providers have uploaded videos that detail their various offers and specials;
Customer feedback – Whether you know the individuals or not on social media, social sites are great for gleaning customer feedback. If someone tweets or shares a good or bad experience with a television provider, by all means read it. Sure, some may post negative comments as a result of an issue with a satellite or cable provider, but keep the comments in context. You can also learn who the better satellite and cable providers are by how they respond to such comments. If they act in a quick and decisive manner, they’re more apt to provide you with better customer service. If they delay a response or even forgo a response altogether, you may want to think twice about using them;
Connect with others – No matter which social networking site or sites you use, connect with other consumers when looking for good entertainment options. You may want to share your experiences on how much the service costs you, your take on the company’s customer service, what kinds of deals are available, and much more. YouTube is a great option for you to post a short video on your entertainment experiences. When you do so, you can receive feedback from other social media users, allowing you to gain more knowledge about your current provider.

When it comes to finding the best entertainment deals for your hard-earned dollars, get more social today.

Killer Social Media Marketing Tips for New Blog Owners

post thumbnail

When you create your first blog it’s difficult to know where you should invest your time and money to grow your audience. A blog is the perfect tool to publish content for an audience who is interested in the topics you discuss. However, new blog owners find it difficult to gain momentum and reach a larger number of people. Traditional techniques like SEO work but take time, energy, and resources.

The good news is there’s another way to attract new online visitors, subscribers and customers. The popularity of social media has changed online marketing in recent years. The following killer social media tips will help new blog owners leverage the power of the world’s leading social media websites.

Create a Blog and Social Media Strategy

Many new blog owners create a blog and social media profiles without fully understanding why. However, social media experts and successful online businesses create an ‘online system’. This online system normally consists of their blog, Twitter account, Facebook account or other social media websites. Each of these components work together to achieve a specific goal.

For example, some blog owners increase their website newsletter subscribers by posting one of their blog articles on Facebook or other social media outlets. If the post has a link to their blog, visitors who click the link in Facebook will be directed to the blog. Here they can read the content and subscribe to the blogs newsletter if they so wish.

Before you go any further, you should create a blog and social media strategy. Your blog and social media accounts should all work together to produce certain specified outcomes.

Don’t Jump In Too Soon

It’s tempting to start posting on social media websites as soon as your blog is up and running. However, you have to know what you’re doing. Research each type of social media platform to see which will be the most effective. Get advice from social media marketing experts and visit reputable online marketing websites.

Social media experts have made all the mistakes and have developed ways to use social media more productively. Some may charge a fee for consultancy services. However the money you spend on social media training now, will reap rewards in the future.

Focus on One Particular Social Media Channel First

When blog owners start out they feel they need to participate on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and other popular social media websites. However, if you’re working alone it’s impossible to keep all of these channels updated. Eventually many blog owners become discouraged. They’ve spread themselves too thin and give up. To make matters worse they start telling others social media marketing doesn’t work.

However, if you focus on one social media platform first, it makes it easier to understand how the platform works. You also start to build better online relationships and begin to publish much more engaging content. Once you figure out how to use one social media website you can either keep focusing on that website or start building relationships on other social media websites. However all of this is time consuming. You want to be sure you and your blog benefit from all of this social media interaction.

Publish Shareable Content on Your Blog and Social Media Accounts

The ability to create content people share with other like-minded individuals is the real power of social media. If you can master this, you will have more website visitors than you could ever imagine. People share content that’s interesting, funny, informative, or is available in an easy to share format. Make sure you always publish high quality content that visitors will share.

Make It Easy to Share Your Content

Creating shareable posts on your blog is only half the battle. You then have to make it easy for others to share this valuable content. You can easily add social media share buttons to posts in blogging platforms like WordPress. A website visitor who views a post they like on your blog simply clicks one of these share buttons. The share button automatically displays a link to your blog post on your blog visitor’s social media profile. This link can be viewed and shared with your blog visitor’s friends and followers. For example, if a blog visitor clicks the Facebook share button on one of your blog posts, a link to your post will appear on your visitors Facebook account where your visitor’s friends can see this link to your content.

Build Relationships and Don’t Sell

Spamming social media sites with ads is a big mistake many new blog owners make. It may seem counterintuitive, but the more you try to sell on social media websites, the more you will be ignored. In more serious cases, you will get a bad reputation and could be banned from these websites altogether.

Most people don’t visit social media websites to make a purchase. Instead they flock to these websites to get information and communicate with others. It’s important to build relationships with like-minded people instead. Interact with them, share valuable content and help fellow members if they need a hand with something. Other people will start to trust you more. Once this happens others will share your content and recommend your products and services if you have a business.

Consider Using Paid Social Media Adverting

Social media websites like Twitter and Facebook are the perfect places to build a following. If you have something valuable to publish on your blog and social media site, more people will follow you. However, if you want to reach a larger, more targeted group of people, creating paid social media campaigns is an option.

Many social media websites let members display sponsored ads to other members of the social media website. For example, if you have a Facebook page that sells fishing lures, you could publish Facebook ads that only appear in front of other Facebook members who are interested in fishing. This is extremely powerful because you’re not wasting advertising dollars displaying ads to people who are not interested in what you have to offer.

Once you know how to start a blog, you have taken the first step to online success. Understand that social media is a means to an end. You can’t simply open a social account and start blasting ads out to an online community that doesn’t know you. Instead you have to plan your social media strategy so that you know exactly why you are using social media and what you expect to gain from it.

What to Say When Someone Tries To Kill Your Vibe…

What to Say When Someone Tries To Kill Your Vibe…

Why’d you do that? Rumors have spread that the next iPhone will not have a headphone jack. But how can you listen to music and podcasts and watch videos without them? Leave it to the lightning port and Bluetooth. According to a “reliable source”, the next iPhone generation will have earpods that plug into the lightning port. If you have headphones that you just can’t part with, you can get an adapter which can be plugged into the lightning port. The reason for the change is so the iPhone can be even thinner. They say change is a good thing. Thin to win? (Source USA Today)

It’s a girl!

Mark Zuckerberg had quite the #GivingTuesday. He and his wife, Priscilla Chan, announced the birth of daughter Max Zuckerberg and also made sure to mention the 99% of their Facebook shares they’ll be donating. NBD. In the letter Zuckerberg posted on Facebook, the couple said they would be donating their fortune (roughly $45 billion) to the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative so little Max can grow up in a better world. Congrats Mark and Priscilla! (Source BBC News)
