A look back at my talks and book signings in 2016

met some lovely and fascinating people throughout 2016 when giving my
talks. It's been a pleasure to entertain so many people with the
exploits of my crime busting heroes, DI Andy Horton and Art Marvik, and
to reveal the secrets of successful crime writing to audiences. Here is a
round up of all the talks I have given throughout the year. My thanks to
everyone who invited me to speak, who listened to me, who asked so many
intriguing questions and who bought my books. Here's looking forward to
entertaining many more readers in 2017.

It's December 12 and Horton gets called to a gruesome catch by two fishermen

of my crime novels are set around Christmas so if you fancy getting
into the festive spirit with DI Andy Horton then Fatal Catch and The
Suffocating Sea should be on your reading list.
Fatal Catch opens on 12 December and DI Horton is called out to examine a gruesome catch by two
fishermen: a human hand.Is it that of missing violent criminal Alfie
Wright – or is he the killer? And where is the rest of the corpse?
Soon Horton finds himself immersed in a complex case where everyone has a
reason to lie and no one is who they seem. His
instincts tell him to trust no one and believe nothing; he’s not sure
though whether this time he’ll succeed …

The seven emotional stages of writing a novel

if not all fiction writers, ride the emotional roller coaster of
emotions when crafting their novel. For me, each stage of writing a
novel brings with it a range of different
emotions. These range from excitement to frustration, relief, doubt,
fear, anxiety plus a whole lot in between.
So here then is the gauntlet of emotions I run while writing one of my crime novels.

What's on in December 2016

taking a rest from giving talks this December - getting my breath back
in time for a hectic calendar of events for 2017 - but I have one more
radio interview to do before the end of the year, and I'm looking
forward to it. I'm delighted to once again be on the very popular
Julian Clegg BBC Radio Solent Breakfast Show on Tuesday 22 December at
7.50am. For those of you who can't get BBC Radio Solent and want to
listen to my interview then you can catch it after the show on BBC
iplayer. I also hope to have a transmission of it here on the website
and on my You Tube Channel.
