Radio Interviews and the marine mystery police procedural crime novels

I had to re-record my interview with Rob Richardson of Express FM last week because a technical hitch unfortunately meant the original interview could not be transmitted. I didn't mind though. It's always good fun talking to Rob Richardson who also runs a very lively writing group and web site called Write-Invite which has some very exciting and rather unusual short story writing competitions.

My interview will be broadcast on Tuesday 6 July between 7pm and 8pm, on Express FM You can listen to it, if you wish, on their web site. I'm also due to be interviewed that morning on BBC Radio Solent, the Julian Clegg Breakfast Show, at 6.45 am. So from one end of the day to the other!

Meanwhile two of my crime novels have been chosen as Hot Holiday Reads on The Book Depository's web site. In Cold Daylight, a stand alone thriller and the third Inspector Horton marine mystery crime novel, The Suffocating Sea, are being featured. The prices are good and The Book Depository offer FREE worldwide delivery. There is more information on my web site.

The new marine mystery police procedural novel is coming along quite nicely. I've written the first two chapters but there's still a lot of research to do yet before it all comes together.

Gave a talk last night and I'm giving a radio interview tomorrow

I gave a talk last night to a small group of ladies of the Koinona Club who made me very welcome. I've uploaded a couple of photographs here. I talked about how I write my crime fiction and about my marine mystery crime and thriller novels set on the South Coast of England. They feature the rugged and flawed detective, Inspector Andy Horton and are set against the backdrop of the sea. Tomorrow I am giving a radio interview on Express FM on the Sally Cronin programme between 1.30 pm and 4.30pm. You can listen via the Express FM web site or on 93.7fm.

I'm on the Pompey Bus on Express FM 25 Oct.in Havant, talking about my crime novels

This week The Breakfast Show at Express FM is on the road on the Pompey Bus turning up at different locations around the area, and on Tuesday 25 October it will be at Havant town centre where I will be climbing on board to join presenter Adrian Knight on his show.

The Pompey Bus will be turning up at different locations everyday during this week and the presenters will be giving out clues during the show to a secret password. The first person to knock on the door of the bus and give them the secret password for that day will receive a pair of tickets to a Portsmouth FC home game as a minimum.

I will be on the show some time between 8.30am and 9am and I'm looking forward to it and chatting to Adrian Knight. I'll be talking about my DI Horton Marine Mystery crime novels, set in the Solent area; my forthcoming talk at CSI Portsmouth on Writing a Crime Novel and my appearance at CSI Portsmouth on the panel debate in the afternoon with fellow crime writers Mark Billingham, John Harvey and Michael Ridpath when we join the police, crime scene experts and forensic psychologists to debate crime fiction versus crime fact.

More information on CSI Portsmouth here or on my official web site at http://www.rowmark.co.uk

Hope some of you can tune into The Breakfast Show on Express FM. or on 97.3 FM

What's on in April- the new DI Andy Horton published

April sees the publication of the eleventh in the DI Andy Horton police procedural crime series, Shroud of Evil.

In Shroud of Evil DI Andy Horton is assigned the case of a missing person: Jasper Kenton, a private investigator. When Kenton’s car turns up, and a shocking discovery is made, things turn serious and Horton finds himself embroiled in an investigation that has major personal ramifications, and one in which he has no choice but to withhold vital information, even if it means the end of his career.

Published in hardcover and available from all good bookshops, on line and for loan in libraries.

It will be published in the USA in hardcover in August 2014 when it will also be released as an e book and available on Kindle, Nook and Kobo.

Talks

On 1 April 2014 I will be entertaining members of Southampton U3A with a talk about my crime novels and how I plot, research and write them.

Then on 9 April I will be at the London Book Fair meeting with my colleagues in the book trade and with my publisher and overseas agents.

On 29 April I will once again be on BBC Radio Solent chatting to the lovely Julian Clegg on his Breakfast Show at 6.40am. But if you're not an early riser then you can listen to Julian Clegg's show on the BBC Radio Solent website up to seven days after the programme is broadcast.
