Book signing and radio interview
On Saturday 20 June 2009, as part of the celebrations for Independent Booksellers Week, I will be signing copies of my latest Inspector Horton Marine Mystery crime novels, Deadly Waters and Dead Man's Wharf at my local independent bookshop, The Hayling Island Bookshop at 11am - all welcome.
Independent Booksellers Week was first launched last year as a celebration of independent bookselling. Over 350 booksellers participated in a range of activities and events throughout the week. This year it runs from 15th to 22nd June and there will again be a number of exciting events and book signings in the UK in independent bookshops.
Before that though I've got lots of speaking engagements and book signings lined up. You can see them on my official web site Rowmark
I've also just been invited on to Wight FM, Isle of Wight radio,to talk about my crime novels. In For The Kill, a fast-paced, action-packed thriller is set primarily on the Isle of Wight. I'll be talking to Alex Dyke on Thursday 16 April at 12 noon.

Radio Phone- In and Ferry Crossing
My radio phone in interview with Alex Dyke on Wight FM on 16 April was lots of fun. It was great to talk to people via a phone-in and to answer questions they’d e mailed in regarding my novels and how I write. I'd love to do more radio phone-ins so hope I can link in with other radio stations on this soon.
I was also delighted to find that the Captain sailing the Wightlink ferry from Portsmouth to Fishbourne, on my way over to the Isle of Wight for my radio interview, was Captain Paul Marshall who was the Captain on the St Clare at the time of my eight hour marathon book signing event in May 2008. He left the bridge on Wednesday - in the capable hands of his chief officer I hasten to add - to come and say 'hello' and chat while we waited to sail into Fishbourne.
All in all a pleasant couple of days on the Isle of Wight, where my thriller, In For The Kill is set. The Suffocating Sea (an Inspector Andy Horton crime novel) also ends on the Isle of Wight. You can read all about my novels, business books and more on my official web site www.rowmark.co.uk

Celebration time
Hayling Island Library was buzzing with activity yesterday when throngs of local people turned up to celebrate its re-opening after its major refit.
The library has been completely redecorated and a new community room added with its own separate access allowing the library to run more group activity. There are now toilet facilities (handy when you're in the library a long time) and a very welcome coffee/tea machine - so you might need that loo!
All my novels were out on loan so I took some along with me to sell and sign for those interested. I met some lovely people.
There was a celebration cake, nibbles, and drinks, face painting and balloons for the children, or for anyone else for that matter, a chance to view the new facilities, and of course, to change your library books, DVDs etc.
It's good to have our local library back on the run and great to see it so vibrant.
BBC Radio Solent
I was on the Julian Clegg show on BBC Radio Solent this morning at 6.45 a.m talking to Julian about my novels. I'm one of 'Julian's People' those whose lives he has chosen to follow on his programme throughout the year.I'll be on his programme again on 1 October 2009.

What's on in May for crime author Pauline Rowson
May is going to be a busy month not only will I be writing the ninth in the DI Andy Horton marine mystery crime series but I'll also be giving a couple of talks.
May also sees the publication in hardcover in the USA of the seventh in the DI Andy Horton series A Killing Coast which was published in the UK in January 2012.
Like my other crime and thriller novels this is set in the Solent area on the South Coast of England, the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth.
On 2 May I'll be attending the committee meeting of the Crime Writers' Association having just been voted onto the commmittee.
On 9 May, I'll be guest speaker at the Basingstoke and Old Basing U3A which I'm really looking forward to.
I'm also looking forward to appearing at Waterstones Newport, Isle of Wight on 15 May, where I'll be talking about my DI Horton marine mystery crime novels and my thrillers after which I'll be signing copies of my books. The event begins at 6.30pm and tickets cost £3.00 refundable against the purchase of one of my novels.
Then on 17 May I'll be interviewed on Angel Radio at 91.5 fm or you can tune in via their website.
On May 25 I'll be appearing at Crimefest 2012 at the Royal Marriott Hotel, Bristol.
I was delighted that my crime novel, the sixth in the DI Andy Horton crime series, Footsteps on the Shore was longlisted for the eDUNNIT AWARD at CrimeFest 2012.
CrimeFest is a convention for people who like to read an occasional crime novel as well as for die-hard fanatics. First organised in June 2008, CrimeFest is now one of the most popular dates in the crime fiction calendar. The annual convention draws top crime novelists, readers, editors, publishers and reviewers from around the world.
On Friday 25 May I'll be taking part in a lively panel debate between 9am and 9.50am at the Royal Marriott Hotel, Bristol. There will be plenty of time for questions, followed by a book signing.
All in all a busy month.
