Excerpt - THE SWEETGUM LADIES KNIT FOR LOVE by Beth Pattillo
Today's Wild Card author is:
Beth Pattillo
Once a month, the six women of the Sweetgum Knit Lit Society gather to discuss books and share their knitting projects. Inspired by her recently-wedded bliss, group leader Eugenie chooses "Great Love Stories in Literature" as the theme for the year's reading list–a risky selection for a group whose members span the spectrum of age and relationship status.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
I was born and raised in Kentucky and my love of history goes deep - way back to the 18th-century when my family first came into the Bluegrass State. It will always be home to me, even though I now live with my husband, Randy, and my sons, Wyatt and Paul, in the misty woods of northwest Washington. 2009 Denver - Alpaca farm
Captain's Log, Stardate 08.25.2009
On with my travel odyssey from July! While in Denver, Danica took me and Cheryl Wyatt to an alpaca farm! They were SO cute!
I took a LOT of pictures, so rather than freaking out all my readers on dial-up, I posted the pics (with captions) on my Scrapbook blog:

Yes or No meme
Captain's Log, Stardate 08.24.2009
Got this from Ronie Kendig!
You can ONLY answer Yes or No.
You are NOT ALLOWED to explain ANYTHING unless someone messages or comments you and asks. -- and believe me, the temptation to explain some of these will be overwhelming nothing is exactly as it seems.
Now, here's what you're supposed to do. . . Copy and paste this into your notes, delete my answers, type in your answers and tag as many of your friends as you'd like to.

Excerpt - TRY FEAR by James Scott Bell

by
James Scott Bell
For Ty Buchanan, defending a suspected drunk driver named Carl Richess seems routine enough. But when his client ends up dead, an apparent suicide, there's nothing routine about it. Because the cops suspect it's murder, and arrest Eric Richess, Carl's brother, for the crime. Now Ty, at the desperate urging of Eric's mother, agrees to defend him. But it won't be easy. Because there's DNA on the gun that matches Eric's, and a history of conflict between the brothers.

Excerpt - LOOK TO THE EAST by Maureen Lang
Here's a message from Maureen:
Greetings! I'm eager to share the news about my newest book release. Have you ever wondered how many love stories have one war or another for a backdrop? Rather than counting, I decided to plunge ahead and add a few more titles. Look to the East is the first in a three book series, each one linked by a European, First World War setting—but little else, since each one is an independent story.
So come along for a glimpse back, circa early 1900's, rural France . . .
