Bunnies are so soft and cuddly. Time to spend quality time with those hugging friends of yours.
Cancer:
Vampire bunnies do exist. They suck the life out of carrots. Time to add more vegetables to your diet.
Leo:
Bunnies are charming. Beware a wolf in bunny fur who might try to pull the wool over your eyes.

You are not getting enough rest. Eat well and sleep like a bunny. Dream sweet and refreshed.

Bunnies seldom adventure far, but you have wonderful adventures coming your way. Hop to get ready.
Scorpio:

Why You Were Not Rejected! By Susan Hanniford Crowley
It’s come to my attention that people are going through a lot lately with rejection. I want you to enjoy your holiday weekend, so I’m letting you in on all the secrets around the illusion called “rejection.” I’m going to discuss this from the viewpoint of going for a job and also from a writer’s point of view.
Rejection in the Job Search
1. It’s not you. Someone the person knows will get the job.
2. You didn’t get it. Lucky you because the place closed two weeks later. (I was grateful that I didn’t get hired when I found this out.)3. You may not have the experience they are looking for.
4. You have too much experience and they don’t want to pay much for the position.
5. The person going through the resumes is ill and has just sent rejection letters to everyone.
There are so many weird and arbitrary reasons that have nothing to do with you, your talent, or experience. The definition of arbitrary according to Google is “based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system.”
I won’t say every company does this, but enough do. Remember rejection has nothing to do with you.
Rejection by Agents and/or Editors
Now for the writers. A lot of what I’ve said also applies to you. You have just sent in your masterpiece, your baby. You have expectations. I understand perfectly. Why was your work rejected?
1. It doesn’t fit their needs. This could actually be true. They may already have a clown murder mystery they’re about to publish.
2. The person reading the slush pile is ill and has just emailed rejections to everyone that day.
3. It may not be the type of work they publish. Be careful to check the types they do want before sending.
4. Your work was rejected. Lucky you! Two months later that publisher folds. Or worse! You find out through a writers’ group that that publisher has not been paying their authors.
5. Your work was rejected but there’s a email telling how to improve your work, and to send it back when you do. What to you do? Make the changes right away and send it back to the attention of the person signing that email.
What’s the bottom line? You are not being rejected. Your work may not be at the right place. Research the right places and send it. Many rejections are arbitrary. I was talking to another author the other day who is having amazing success. She told me that some people love her work and some have told her it sucked. Now went you send out your work, you’re running into personal tastes. The great majority of rejections don’t mean a darn thing. I used to keep them to show I was making an effort as a writer in the event my writing deductions on my taxes were questioned. I keep all my writing related receipts now anyway.
Have a fun holiday weekend, and keep rejection in its proper perspective. You might learn from it, but mostly just be thankful because in some cases it wouldn’t have been for your benefit. I do believe that when one door closes, another opens. I also believe that a good fit makes a person happy on the job or a writer happy with their publisher. Remember you were never rejected. It’s only a person’s opinion of your work. Someone else will have the opposite opinion.
If you’ve had some of these experiences and would like to share, I’d love you to comment. Thanks.

Happy Holiday by Stacy Hof
Whether you celebrate Good Friday, Passover, or simply spring fever, a happy holiday to you! Spring is a time for rebirth and re-commitment to being fruitful.
Can this apply to our writing as well? Why not? As the world re-awakens, so can our muse. A creative re-birth, as well as a spiritual, and a seasonal one. I can hardly wait.
In the meantime, I’m enjoying this holiday with my family, at home. I hope wherever you are, you are with loved ones, too. And I wish you the very best this spring season.

What I’ve Learned: Secret 13 – Digging Deep By Susan Hanniford Crowley
My first vampire series is called Vampires in Manhattan. It started with a prequel that instead became Book 1 and titled When Love Survives.

Available in Kindle, Nook, Kobo and Smashwords
It gave a sneak peek into the supernatural and paranormal community of New York and how they interact with humanity. They call themselves Nats. The hero Gregor and heroine Regina fall in love while working to rescue others on the city’s darkest day. New York City has a very diverse population which includes the Nats. Not everyone is a vampire.
It also introduced a secondary but important character Vampire David Hilliard. For me, the book represents the heart of New York City in a very personal way to me. How was this book born? In a dream. For that book, I also did a month’s worth of additional research into September 11th. A friend of mine happened to have saved all the newspapers of that time. When I told her what I was researching, she let me borrow her collection. I read and cried for a month.
Digging deep works many ways. You dig to in find your characters and what they are feeling, experiencing in the world around them. You dig deep to discover hidden truth, to rescue someone who may not have had a chance without you, to reveal courage.
When digging deep, love becomes more passion. You feel fragile doing it but when you risk everything for someone else, you open your life to miracles.
When Love Survives is available at Smashwords, Kindle, Nook and Kobo.
This is what I learned when I wrote When Love Survives. Whether it’s writing or life, when I dig deep, my memories are richer for it. What about you? In what ways do you dig deep?

Change is All Around Us
This year’s trip to Nicaragua has come to an end. We flew back yesterday and in leaving, I always feel like a piece of me is missing or staying behind. Anyone who has read my posts regularly may know by now that Nicaragua is an annual trip for my family and I. I’ve been going for over 12 years now and the changes in the country and in my life astound as I reflect back over the time.
The humble Nicaragua I first met over a decade ago has evolved in so many ways. More free trade zones, the possibility of a canal, more eco-tourism, even the municipal landfill of Managua is more organized. I think the biggest surprise of all over the last couple years has been the growth of Granada, a decent sized colonial city about and hour to an hour and a half from the capital, Managua. European type cafes and bakeries now populate the city in great quantities. Hotels are always overflowing and the open air markets bustling with activity. The attention given to the unique or different(chocolate spas, waffle houses, themed restaurants and bars) definitely gives the city a diverse feel in comparison to other cities in Nicaragua. And yet there is still a lot of the Nicaraguan culture preserved so that tourists can get a taste of the handmade goods, food, drink and of course, the Nica sayings.
Despite all of the changes for what I would say is good in the country–especially as it has opened it up to more visitors–the extremes are still well, very extreme. Poverty is beyond any sort I’ve seen in the U.S. and its effects on the people are hard to watch. It’s also crazy to see a house priced at half a million dollars or a hotel room at several hundred per night in a country where someone working extremely hard earns maybe sixty dollars a week (and that is really decent). It’s hard to explain but I feel like these extremes and this country in particular has triggered the greatest changes in me and the way I think. I’m interested to see what the future holds for both of us and where our paths may cross again.
No moral this week, just a bit of change. Happy writing!

My Reading and Writing Challenge by Mandy Rosko
Whew! The end of the month s here, and as usual, I feel like I didn’t get enough done, reading or writing wise.
This always happens to me, so even though I’m still technically ahead of my Goodreads reading challenge when you take away the short stories and mangas, I feel like I really need to catch up.
So naturally, April is going to be the month when I do that :)
So, what are my plans for April? Well, aside from it being my birthday month (And I don’t want to get another year older! No more! -_-) I want to finish at least one of the short stories I’ve got planned for the upcoming box set I’m going to be in at the end of the year. That, along with the books I’m contracted to do, should fit nicely with my schedule without giving me too many late nights ;)
Also, I want to READ MORE! I can’t stress this enough about how I feel like I’ve been doing little to no reading lately. I know it’s been a decent amount for my work load, but there needs to be more! I think I’m just greedy…
So, books I want to get read are as follows:
1) Onyx by Jennifer L Armentrout.
I’m about half done this one I think, so I want to finish it. Ready the first book in the series not too long ago, and really enjoyed it. I also have the other two, so the plans are to get to those, however, my next on the list will be…
2) C791 by Eve Langlais
and
3) Polar Bared by Eve Langlais
These two are because the RTC conference is coming up, and I want to hurry up and get as much read by her as I can that’s on my backlist. Also, I want her to sign my books ;) The goal is to hopefully have those read and finished before the conference.
4) Halfway Home by Hugh Howey
I bought this one right before I finished reading Wool, with the intention of starting it up immediately after I finished Wool. I finished Wool, but for some reason picked up something else instead, even though Halfway Home looks amazing.
Anyway, it’s not a big list, but three and a half books should be more than doable within one month with my writing schedule :3 I just have to keep on with the not playing video games (Even though I really want to get back to Dragon Age Inquisition ;_;) and I’ll get my goals for the month while knocking off a few books from my Goodreads yearly goal :)
I’ve got so many books on my bookshelf that need reading, it’s kind of a sin that I keep finding excuses to buy more books -_- half of this challenge is really just to get me through them all before I buy more.
Does anyone else do this? Or am I just crazy? Do you all buy more books than you read? And how long do they stay on your TBR pile? I need to know!
Cheers until next week ;)
-Mandy

Leo:
Faeries value art. Time to get out the paints and abandon yourself to the freedom of art. Be sure to enter it into a show, not for the prize you might win, but for the great people you’ll meet.
Virgo:
People are drawn to Pixies. Love is all around and drawn to you. Be level headed in your dealings and don’t let this influx of emotions head you in the wrong direction.

K is for Kiss
Come on, admit it. Kissing is one of your favorite things. And if you cant do it, the next best thing might be reading about it in a spicy romance novel. Kissing certainly ramps up the steam both in real life and on the page. But why does that scorching kiss get you all hot and bothered and ready to turn that next page?
There are a host of reasons why kissing is the precursor to sex. First and foremost, the human lips have more touch receptors in them than almost any other part of the body except the fingertips. Lips have the most sensitivity and your brain has the speed to transmit whats happening to the lips at the greatest speed, therefore our lips are more sensitive to any stimuli they come into contact with.
One of the best ways to arouse a man or woman in a kiss is to nibble on their ear. This can be downright erotic if you take your partners earlobe in your mouth and suck on it, then slowly trace the rim of their ear with your tongue. For an added bonus, whisper something naughty as youre doing this. Ive written kisses like this in several of my books, and Ill tell you, it works every time to put your partner in the mood. LOL

“Kuss” by Bleiglass – from de Wikipedia: de:Bild:Kuss.jpg. Licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0 via Wikimedia Commons
French kissing, or in romance novels, deepening the kiss, is the best way to ensure a pleasurable time for both partners. Passionate kissesmouths open, tongues intertwinedraises the blood pressure, makes your heart beat faster, and generally excites you more than closed-mouth kisses. When the body is excited, it is much easier for both men and women to achieve orgasm. Perhaps that is why over 50% more men said they would have sex with a bad kisser than women would.
And finally one little piece of historic trivia about kisses. The letter X has long stood for a kiss when writing letters. The X stood for a kiss. But did you know it came from the Middle Ages? The custom of signing your name with an X arose because most people then couldnt write their name. At the time letters, oaths, and anything legal was signed with an X then the person kissed the signature, in effect swearing to its veracity and sealing it with a kiss.
Thus endeth your kissing lesson. :)
