Make Good Choices

It is raining cats and dogs here, or it was.

Now it is raining more like kittens and puppies, I guess.  Cats and dogs last night – kittens and puppies now during the day.  Mud everywhere is Mudsylvania.   The garden is happy.  The dogs are oblivious.  The mama is not so happy – only about the muddy paws and floors.

So it is kinda raining kittens and puppies like at all of our animal shelters.  You know the ones where animals get dumped because people can’t get the concept of spay and neuter.  Money is really no excuse as there are low-cost and free clinics all over the place.  You just have to care enough to look and take advantage.

So yeah – I guess the theme of the day is multi-faceted:

Don’t forget your umbrella.

Keep riding the mop.

Spay and neuter.

Oh – least I should forget: Make good choices!

With the sad passing of Lennox the dog, our DFP boy Nico and his family wanted to do something to speak out against the Breed Specific Legislation. So in honor of Lennox, Nico  and all the amazing bully breed friends across our nation and beyond we present an October promo to WOOF OUT and share that it’s time to make a change and stop BSL!

Today my husband took our 15.5 years young fuzzy girl London to the vet today to get a swollen spot on her face checked out. Londie, as we call her, came to us about 2.5 years ago from the life of being a chained  backyard dog for over 8 years. She was 13 years old at the time she came to live with us and had never really lived in the house with other dogs and family.

Chamberlin –  North Carolina

“Paws Pack” Member #80

This is how my rescuers found me that day in the yard when I was rescued…

Hi! My name is “Chamberlin” I was forgotten in an overgrown yard and found while it was being mowed! There was no food, water or shelter for me as I waited for almost 2 months…I was finally found extremely weak, emaciated and my front legs do not function properly, but I’ve found hope because of the wonderful and caring people who saved me at The Guilford County Animal Shelter through “Susie’s Fund” and I’ve begun on my long road to recovery, someday I will be better, but without you all I wouldn’t have made it this far!
