I Like ‘Em Big & Stupid! Aren’t Dim, Vulnerable Guys Kinda Appealing?

“I want a moron with talented hands…” sings Julie Brown in her song I LIKE EM BIG & STUPID

I know what you’re going to say. “No, I don’t like them big and stupid. Not at all. Never. Pttoooeee!” I know, I know.

But then I would have to remind you of Jason from True Blood.

Not the brightest bulb in the box, fo’ sure, but so sweet, so simple hearted. And cute. And…let’s face it ladies…hawt. He’s what I’m talking about. Not the complete package, but the almost complete package. A good guy. A nice gu...

Comparing Our Sexual Bucket Lists

I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it

We hear a lot of talk about buckets lists, those “must have” experiences that people want to achieve at some point while they’re still above ground and kicking. Bucket lists often include travel to far-flung destinations, learning a foreign language, reading one of the classics, likeWar and Peace orThe Great Gatsby, running a marathon, climbing a mountain, that kind o...

Copy Edits, Kitchenettes, and Cacao

by Liz Everly

So a few days ago I received the copy edits for the second book in my culinary romance series. This book, CRAVINGS, has a chocolate theme. Wow, maybe it’s a sin to have as much fun as I did while writing this book!

Like many writers, though, I have a love-hate relationship with my book at this point in time. I love that an editor with a fresh pair of eyes is going through the manuscript and pointing out little mistakes or inconsistencies that I could not catch becau...

Seriously Stacked: Extremely Curvy Women

ChristinaThere are certain women in popular culture that rivet our attention with their seriously stacked, uber-curvy feminine bodies. These bodies at the extreme end of the female spectrum–exaggerated and seemingly made for sex–fascinate us and drive a celebrity image.

There is something larger than life about all these women. They are not simply actresses –they are vixens, femme fetales, and divas. Add brains to all that or a great sense of humor, or–like Adele–a vibrant personality, and the experien...

Hello Sexy! Dontchya just love the internet? We’ve got some delicious blog posts for you to check out for your weekend reading pleasure.

From Liz:

This week I found two blog posts I adore from the same blog: Justin Mask. Loved this post on quick and dirty things you should know about writing. And this one the art of creative womanhood. Justine, where have you been all of my life?

Another just awesome blog I’ve discovered is Blogging Dangerously.

Erotic romance versus what. A great...

Make Your Characters Suffer?

swan princeby C. Margery Kempe

My brother and I had been watching a lot of Austen and Dickens while I was still in NY. He’s been especially happy to see the era of furniture he’s been buying for our 1810 house (which is slowly coming together, though there’s lots of work to be done). Seriously: in Sense & Sensibility (the BBC miniseries version from a couple of years ago, which he insists on calling Sense and Sensible Shoes) there was a dresser exactly like the one he bought at auction a couple weeks ago...

Very Restrained Foreplay: Handcuffs in Hollywood

pinkHandcuffs in sex have such obvious symbology. Restraint, trust, control, giving-up-control — they are probably one of the most accepted forms of kink in society today.

Is Hollywood is responsible for this? Over the years 3 popular motifs for using handcuffs in movies have been established, rendering cold steel law enforcement tools into something that brings a smile onto most faces when introduced into a film.

1) Two Individuals Forced To Act As One

In 1930 the Hays code was introduced to Hollyw...

Them’s Fightin’ Words: Hot, Sweaty, Make-Up Sex

By Elizabeth Shore

Couple Fighting

Fights between loved ones really suck. The hurt, the anger, the hurled, biting words that end up being the last thing you should’ve ever said. But among lovers, there is one positive outcome from a down and dirty screaming match, and you know what I’m talking about. The down and dirty make-up sex.Couple in bed

A recent article inPsychology Today states that the basic reason make-up sex can be one of the most intense, enjoyable sex that couples ever have has to do with what authorAaron Ben...

Is Beyonce a Feminist? Ask Her.

Once someone said to me that I couldn’t be a feminist if I was a mother. Once. But I’ve noticed sneers and rolling eyes among some of my hardcore feminist friends from time to time about my mothering. It used to anger me. But now, I see it’s really not worth the energy I would expend in debating with them.

Nobody gets to tell me what or who I am.

And I daresay nobody gets to tell Beyonce who or what she is.

She is on the cover of Ms. Magazine this month, which has prompted this huge debate about...

He’s Handy! Carpenters & Their Big Sexy Tools

You see two scruffy dudes. I see guys who know what to do with a drill.

I love my husband and so do other women. Even our lesbian neighbors across the street light up when his name is invoked. Is it his height, his his flowing locks, his worldly sophistication? No, for he has none of these. His wit, intelligence, charm and his abilities as an excellent provider? No–Instead they marvel over our new raised bed or custom build closet shelves. ”He’s handy!” they gush.

Face it, everybody loves a car...
