New Story announcement: "Tabula Rasa"

 

Samhain tidings! I am delighted to report that the latest anthology from Egaeus Press has just been simultaneously announced and released: 

Infernal Mysteries, or A Compendium of Gothic Reveries & Dolorous Tales is, as its subtitle infers, an anthology of new stories that are steeped in the Gothic fiction tradition of the 18th century. As this mode of literature is dearer to me than almost any other, I was honoured to have a story included. 

My story "Tabula Rasa" is equal parts Gothic mystery and Sadean tract. I am especially fond of this piece and was thrilled when editor Mark Beech selected it for this anthology.

NORTHERN NIGHTS reading in Hamilton

 

On Tuesday, October 22nd I will be reading from my story "Banquets of Embertide" at The Casbah in Hamilton, ON (306 King Street West). There will be several other authors from the Northern Nights anthology participating with me. Copies of the book will be for sale courtesy of The City & the City Books. The event runs from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. I hope to see you there.

My contributors copies of this gorgeous anthology have arrived. Northern Nights will be released this autumn, courtesy of the perennially wonderful Undertow Publications. You can pre-order a copy of the book here.

Northern Nights includes a new tale from me, "Banquets of Embertide," alongside works from many of Canada's greatest writers of dark fiction, including Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Simon Strantzas, David Nickle, Premee Mohamed, and more. 

If you are in the Toronto area, I invite you to join editor Michael Kelly and many of the contributors (including me) as we launch the anthology at Little Ghosts Bookstore (930 Dundas St. West) on Saturday, September 21st starting at 1:00pm.

German language edition of THE MORIBUND PORTAL

I am stunned by the beauty of the new German-language edition of The Moribund Portal: Spectral Resonance & The Numen of the Gallows. Wandler Verlag are the exclusive German translators/publishers of my fiction and esotericism. I am humbled by their artistry and passion.

Collaboration with Akhlys

 

On July 5th, Akhlys will be releasing their latest album, House of the Black Geminus. I was deeply honoured to contribute the lyrics for their song "Through the Abyssal Door." Those familiar with Akhlys know that their brand of oneiric black metal is powerful, mystical, and incredibly evocative. Having heard the forthcoming album, I can say that it is a masterpiece.

NORTHERN NIGHTS Anthology

 

The distinguished Michael Kelly recently announced an all-Canadian anthology of dark fiction entitled Northern Nights. The sumptuous cover is visible here, as is the impressive roster. I'm truly flattered to have a new story entitled "Banquets of Embertide" included in this book, which will be published by Undertow Publications this October.
