Hanging Out at The Romance Readers Club

So I haven’t gotten the next California Belly Dance Romance book out as quickly as I’d like, but there’s a reason. I’ve been spending a lot of time at www.RomanceReadersClub.com, working to make it an entertaining and informative place for romance readers.
I think we’re well on our way. We’ve accrued dozens of author interviews, book excerpts, and more, and the list is growing every week. We also hosted the Fall Into Romance | Massive Ebook Giveaway in September, which featured more than 60 participating authors giving away more than 80 free ebooks. We’re gearing up to do it again on March 22 with the Spring Fling | Massive Ebook Giveaway , and we hope to have even more authors and more books to give away. Book Buyers Best Novella Award for SHIMMY FOR ME

I just got the call that SHIMMY FOR ME came in first in the novella category for the Book Buyers Best contest, and to say I’m thrilled is an understatement. It’s especially gratifying because the book is my first as an indie author, and it was up against some pretty stiff competition.

 

It shares the first-place honor with Once Upon a Ring, by Kate Moore, which appears in the Ring of Truth anthology, and the other incredible finalists were Louisa Bacio’s The Big One and Night Angel by Lisa Kessler.

 

The Book Buyers Best contest is presented by the Orange County chapter of the Romance Writers of America.

A Very Busy Week Indeed

This has been a busy week. ANOTHER DANCE officially came out on Monday, and I revived a historical fantasy story I started a few years ago. Since this new story is something entirely different from the California Belly Dance Romance series, I thought I might take the opportunity to try out Wattpad. I’ve uploaded a few parts so far (under the name D.D. Croix) and plan to add new installments each week. I have no previous experience with Wattpad, but I LOVE this story and I thought this might be a good way to figure out if other people will like it, too.
