BACKSTORY: The Story Behind HUNTED BY THE OTHERS, with Jess Haines

I'm excited to feature my literary agency sister, Jess Haines, who this week is debuting HUNTED BY THE OTHERS, the first book in her H&W Investigations series. It's been praised as "fresh and snappy, dark and sexy," by New York Times bestselling author Lara Adrian, who calls Haines "a talent to watch!" It's also been deemed "a delightful romp of a book," by New York Times bestselling author Angela Knight.

Writing, writing, and oh yeah, more writing

Yeah, I know, I haven't had much to say lately. But I haven't been idle, honest. Just writing. And writing. And writing some more. Today there's a workman in the house -- a bathroom is getting a little sprucing up, thanks to this year's tax refund (yay!) -- and the munchkin is being her adorable, if somewhat high-maintenance self, but otherwise it is expected to be another clear day of steady writing ahead.

The New Sounds of Vaudeville...

I'm one of those authors who doesn't like to talk about new stories much before they're done. But I'm going to break that rule a little bit right now because I was so, so happy to find this amazing CD this weekend at one of my favorite local belly dance festivals. It's not only the perfect soundtrack to the story I'm working on, it's given me a huge boost of inspiration just when I really needed it.

LGOC's Festival of Women Authors

The Literary Guild of Orange County's annual Festival of Women Authors will be held Saturday, May 22 at the Irvine Marriott Hotel, and it's going to be another can't-miss event.

The featured authors are Kristin Hannah, Rhys Bowen, Helaine Becker, Wendy Hornsby, Tania James, Rhoda Janzen, July Marie Myatt and Sandra Tsing Loh.

The lovely people who organize the Huntington Beach Friends of the Library Romance Authors' Tea have invited me to speak at their annual event, along with paranormal romance writers Susan Squires and Jennifer Lyon.
